Bio Points

born and raised in oslo, norway, nina is the daughter of kristoffer haugen, chairman and CEO of a multinational luxury goods conglomerate. as his only child, she is also the sole heir to the corporations (see bernard arnault)

her mother died when she was 12 in a car accident which nina survived. after that, her father became more distant and she was left in the care of nannies

the moment she finished high school, she had this plan to jump universities and countries for each year in college. she spent her freshman year in spain and her sophomore year in italy

she was initially supposed to study in london for her junior year, but after the string of lawsuits filed against her father and his company, he put his foot down and made her go to a lesser known place in the US to continue her education

until now, nina has no idea what the specifics are of the cases against her father. somehow, the media is also kept in the dark even though she knows the battles still aren’t over

Personality

she’s quick-witted and charming, but can be emotionally detached. she’s a thinker and doesn’t really let her heart lead. she may succumb to her whims from time to time, but even if it’s not that obvious, she’s actually thought it all through

she’s fun and is an adventurous party girl. she lives quite the lavish lifestyle and loves spontaneity. she’s friendly, but can also be intolerant and argumentative. quite a thick skin would be necessary, because she doesn’t always mince her words

she’s also advocacy-oriented and generous. even though she’s a business major, she takes after her mom and has a heart for the arts and humanities. there is an obvious disparity between her principles and her way of life, which she mostly manages to ignore but it’s harder now with her father’s situation and the fact that she’s in a less-elite environment

it may not be incredibly obvious, but nina can be really sweet and loyal. her love language is acts of service and once you’ve got her trust, she’s a ride or die type of gal

ali stared at the blonde, wanting to interrupt her to say that she’d very gladly call the bar in question up to give them a heads-up but what stopped her was the fact that she hadn’t heard of any new bars opening. her attention shifted to the boys who then ran out the door before going back to nina. “I could have handled that myself.” she stated coldly, grabbing a rag from the counter just short of the bar. she then began wiping away at the section the boys had been seated at. “They surely would have ordered something,” if not alcohol, “so thanks for losing me that… and the tip.” the last portion of her snide comment being mumbled, tossing the rag back down to the counter. “What do you want?”

“ HELVETE, HOW ‘BOUT A NICER ATTITUDE ? ” nina muttered under her breath as she adjusted her seat, visibly taken aback by the other woman’s response. “ i’ll have three of your most expensive cocktail — one for each freshman i drove away, ” she said flatly as she ran a hand through her hair, not bothering to look at the menu at all. “ and i’d like to see your reserve wine list, ” the blonde added as she finally looked up, taking in the appearance of the brunette in front of her. she looked just about her age, and nina suddenly felt a slight twinge of guilt. she never liked the feeling of being served by people her age or younger than her — never appreciated the casual reminder of how good she has it. 

“ guess i got carried away a bit there, ” she added, her voice noticeably softer. “ i’ve just had enough of meathead boys with their aggression and entitlement, ” nina said as she took a hundred dollar bill out of her pocket. having heard her last remark, nina tried her best to slip it in the tip jar as discreetly as possible. “ surely you understand. from one woman to another, right ? ” with a warm grin at the end, she made a silly hand gesture that turned into an awkward wave — an obvious attempt to ease the tension. it wouldn’t be the first time nina’s tried to charm her way out of an apology, and it certainly won’t be the last. “ i’m nina, by the way  — self-appointed scarecrow for freshmen”

FOLLOWING THE RULES was never nina’s strong suit. she has always danced to the beat of her own drum — a choice made possible by all the luxury and privilege money can buy. it’s the type of life she leads, but not exactly one she campaigns for. “ if you’re looking for a drink, there’s a new place next to peggy’s diner, ” the blonde sweetly interrupted as she placed a hand one of the boys shoulder. there were three of them huddled in front of the counter begging for drinks, and now all their attention shifted from the bartender to her. “ it’s their soft opening, so they’re not really strict with IDs, ” with a suggestive raise of her brow, the boys shared a look before scrambling out the door. “ freshmen, ” nina commented with a chuckle as she sat on one of the stools. “ obviously there’s no new bar, but at least they’re out of your hair, right ? ”

“for the last time– no!” the brunette said angry, throwing her hand towards the sign that hung on the wall behind her which stated you had to have been born no later than 1997 to be served legally at Black Tap. “you’ll have better luck begging an actual adult outside a liquor store. we don’t serve minors.” ali insisted.
