hi nine! hopefully this is ok to ask, but do you have any tutorial or any sort of tips at all on how you made the map code for the aletheia skin? i’m trying to make a map code for my own roleplay and i’m struggling big time, but yours looks gorgeous!! thanks for reading either way <3

Apologies for the late reply, I barely check Tumblr ): It's a bit convoluted to explain, but ever since Aletheia I have developed more elegant approaches to map designs utilizing SVGs and the clip-mask css property.

Since it's quite arduous to explain in detail, I recommend getting familiar with a vectoring program like Adobe Illustrator and reading up on the clip-mask property on W3School or CSS-Tricks to get you started.

Hi! I'm what I would consider a bit of an "amateur" coder and recently I've been interested in trying my hand at doing "tabbed" forums for categories, since my site that I code for has a *lot* of locations that take up a lot of real estate on the index. However, my tinkering has, at this point, been mostly utter failures and I can't get them to work. I was wondering if you had any helpful tips you'd be able or willing to share? (tysm in advance, and i just want to say you do BEAUTIFUL work!!)

I can't say for sure how you would execute tabbed categories on Proboards, but for Jcink you'll need to actually paste the tabbed part of your code in your category headers in the HTML templates, and utilize <!--|cat_id|--> variables if your tabs are pure css radio buttons.

your codepen "rules" don't go over codepen's actual TOS. i suggest storing your things elsewhere, even on your own pc. you can ofc keep screenshots/show off your work, but codepen's TOS does not protect you from outright theft (copy/pasting)

No, but it doesn't stop me from asking people to not use my work without permission, and I have already made a lot of my work on Codepen private. I am well aware of the TOS, my "rules" are just asking people to behave civilly.

(message) I would not like to use your design without asking your permission. I would adapt it and make some modifications, but in the end the base idea is yours, so I would prefer to know if you have any problem if I use it as a reference and base. Obviously I would give you the corresponding credits. Let me know your opinion and I hope not to bother you at all. I wanted to attach an image, but it's not possible. It would be based on the design of the Osterra zones subforum.

Hey Nines! This is going to be a super random question, but I was wondering if you had any old personal skins lying around that you might be willing to sell? I've followed your work for quite some time and I absolutely love everything you create. Many of your Aletheia skins are my all time favorites. I would of course abide by all rules, change graphics, and keep credit intact. If not, I completely understand. I just figured I'd ask. Sorry to bother!

Thanks for your ask! Unfortunately I've already sold my old Aletheia skins to another buyer already, and they requested to keep exclusive rights to it. I would like to work towards creating paid premades in the future, but feasibly with my current job and lifestyle it's been difficult. If I ever open up a store in the future for premades, I'll be sure to post it on this blog.

A personal skin for my old site Aletheia, a roleplay forum about magic in a medieval fantasy setting. Loosely based on Octopath Traveler, it came with an interactive map (with toggable features, map markers, etc.) The theme of this skin was “dragonslaying and fire”.

(commission) Grimoire Hearts

This was a fun project done for the fine folks over at Grimoire Hearts, a Black Clover-based roleplay. The theme I played with for this commission was taking some of the great artwork from the manga itself, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese comic styles and bold lettering contrasted against a dark and gritty scheme.
