Anyone else notice when kitty went to find Min Ho in the sculpture garden that they’re talking in front of that pink (cherry blossom tree?) or one very similar to that one that she saw in the first season and the one that her mom was standing by in that photo in s1 episode 2?
I don’t know if it was intentional or not but thought it was interesting, especially when the original of this scene was where kitty was going over rocks was cut and this took its place

I’ve been shipping Caryl since S2 of the main show and as much as I hate saying it, I think it’s time I stop. I honestly never thought I’d be over them but David Zabel has truly ruined my love for these 2. DD:TBOC S2 was awful and even though I was happy to see Melissa/Carol, the show itself just wasn’t good. The writing alone is ass and the plots were trash and honestly all the S3 filming stuff I’ve seen has given me no excitement for S3.
I really hope S3 ends and there isn’t a S4. Or at least if there is a S4, please let someone who actually knows and cares about these 2 characters take control and get rid of Zabel.

First episode was nice! The Carol and Ash scenes were lovely and I really enjoyed those! I really don’t care about the nest and that plot but maybe that’s because I didn’t finish s1 to get used to those characters and etc.
Really excited to see where Carol goes this season! Not gonna lie, totally digging Carol and Ash and I think that could be a new ship I could get behind 😂 I never liked Tobin and Ezekiel but i definitely don’t mind Ash. If Daryl can get with a nun, let Carol get with this hottie 🥵

Why couldn’t we have something like this instead they want to ruin our ship 😭
My dream show for Caryl is an entire season of Diverged, except with them getting along. I want a scene with carol packing a lunch for Daryl when he's going off to hunt. I want Daryl picking a flower for carol on the way home. I want a scene of them having dinner ala when Daryl finds her at the creepy house. I want a scene of carol snuggled up on one end of the couch reading a romance novel while Daryl cleans his crossbow at the other end. I want a scene of them spooning as they fall asleep. No other characters... Just them. Why can't carylers have nice things?

I actually feel like I'm going nuts with the whole Carol/Daryl "best friend" agenda, like I swear to god if they were both the same gender the network would have forced them to rein it in for being blatantly gay as fuck. Kissing and cradling and holding hands and giving eachother little flowers and bracelets and flirty nicknames and getting obviously jealous over other love interests- those two have more romantic tension than most of the characters who were actually together, but they're literally trying to gaslight everyone out of reading into it at all. No show should ever have to make anybody's ships canon but they're pushing back so hard for what? Because they accidentally wrote a compelling cishet romance that's somehow so unthinkable that they feel the need to shout "best friend" at every given opportunity? I can't be the only one who thinks they doing too much 💀

I wasn't sure I was going to make this post because I know others have made posts around this topic before. But after sitting with it and giving it some thought, I do feel that I want to go ahead and make it so I can add a perspective that I believe is worth sharing.
This is not about telling others how to feel or trying to control the fandom. I have zero interest in doing that. Feel what you feel, be that positive or negative. Your feelings are valid. It is about asking people to consider not projecting those feelings onto Melissa, painting your feelings as hers, victimising her, and declaring what is best for Melissa.
Melissa is a grown, middle-aged professional, business-savvy woman. She is not some shy, ineffectual, unable to make herself heard or have her voice listened to wallflower.
Melissa herself has clearly expressed and made clear on multiple occasions this year how happy she is. How excited she is about this spinoff, both season 2 and their plans going into season 3. She has talked about the way she and Zabel have worked together from very early on regarding Carol's story, and it is crystal clear from what she said that Mel has played a significant role in her story. She and Norman have played a significant role in their shared stories and the direction of this spinoff. That will include whether canon happens or not. Watch Mel, listen to her. She seems extremely comfortable and relaxed with David Zabel. You don't need to be a body language expert to pick that up because she makes it clear and obvious.
Now, some fans may not like David Zabel. That's your prerogative. Some fans may not like the decisions made when the spinoff airs and the direction it takes. Again, that is a personal thing that only we can decide for ourselves on an individual basis. Our opinions on those things, however different they may be, are all valid. But I believe it's really, really important that we express those feelings as being our own and not project them onto Melissa.
What I've seen a lot from fans these past few years is an expression of wanting Mel to be listened to, to have a voice & be able to express that voice. To not have others speaking for her. We all love Mel and care about her. I know I do, and I believe everyone who is so vocal about those things love and care about her, too. Why else would they try and fight so hard for her?
But here's the thing. (And this is why I feel so strongly about it and feel the need to make this post.) By projecting our own feelings onto Mel, by speaking for her, by saying what needs to happen for things to be best for her, to say the type of showrunner they need to hire to be the right showrunner for Mel, to even presume to know what Mel wants for Carol and Caryl and express that assumption as being her wishes is doing the exact same thing we claim to hate/be against. Namely, taking away Mel's agency by not listening to Mel's voice when she tells us how happy and excited she is about this spinoff, Carol's story, Caryl's story and the general direction it's headed. Not hearing the pure joy whenever she talks, including regarding Zabel. Dismissing & invalidating what she says by claiming she has to say that for whatever reason, claiming that she doesn't really feel that way and then presenting something that Mel didn't say or imply and stating that is what she *really* feels.

Now, I wasn't in TWD fandom in the early seasons. As is normal for me, much to my son's annoyance, I was very late to TWD party. But I have been in the Twitter fandom for several years at this point. My point I'm getting to with this is that I didn't witness in real time Melissa's happiness & demeanor in those early seasons. So I can only speak to the later seasons. But I haven't EVER seen Melissa as happy and excited and just so full of joy as she seems to be now from everything we've seen of her since she came back. I've not seen her appear to be as outwardly comfortable with a showrunner as she seems to be with Zabel, comparing like for like in the public arena of panels and interviews. Obviously, I didn't get to see how she was with Frank Darabont, although I am aware of her pre-TWD working relationship with him on The Mist.
I'm going to end here, but I just want to repeat that this is not in any way me trying to tell people what to think and feel or saying people shouldn't express their concerns and worries. There needs to be space for everyone to be able to do that if they want to. It's simply me expressing and explaining why I think we should be mindful of not projecting our feelings and concerns onto Mel and hopefully giving some food for thought about it. I know I can't force people to stop doing it, that I can only share my opinion, make my case for not doing it, and ask people to consider it, and that is what I am doing with this post.

Richonne show is still the main event 5 months later,no one cares about more seasons of a buddy cop series, carol and Daryl are brother and sister that's not going to change, you guys are projecting your anger on other people, you're the ones crying on social media while everyone else is laughing,it's ridiculous and entertaining 😂😂
And btw, I actually enjoyed TWD:TOWL. I enjoy Rick and Michonne and if they made another season I’d be happy because so far, their spin off has been the better one. I can’t really say much about DD s1 cause I only made it through the first episode 😅
As for the brother/sister comment, the producer of DD TBOC has pretty much confirmed there’s romance between them so idk why we’re still trying to pass them off as siblings.
If Caryl goes canon, cool. If not, oh well. I enjoy their friendship and bond, even if it never goes romantic. Sue me 🤷♀️

In the end I’m still here and I’ll stay on this ship until it sinks. Been here since S2, not going to stop believing in Caryl. Been down this road so many times before so I’ve gotten used to it. I love Caryl and I’ll remain on this ship 🙂↕️
They are in love with each other and I don’t care what anyone saids. Best friends to lovers make the best relationships.
Will we be let down when it’s all said and done? Probably but I’ve been here too long to quit now so if this ship sinks, I’ll be going down with it 🥳

Sometimes I wonder…
I will address this one time, spoiler warning below I guess if folks haven’t been keeping up or trying to avoid them.
In regards to a certain article, im not sure if I’m reading the same as some because all I see is things we already knew. We know from the leaked 2x06 script pages that Caryl are going to finally work through their own personal demons; for Carol she’ll FINALLY deal with the loss of Sophia (as well as Lizzie and Mika I suspect) which will move her past her desire to run. In Melissa’s own words, she’s “saving herself by going to save Daryl”.
Daryl will get past his hero complex/feeling the need to save everyone thanks in part to Isabelle’s death (dude really has his inner self say through a ghost-nun that he’s still breathing so he shouldn’t dwell on what he couldn’t do).
No Caryl aren’t going to jump each others bones as soon as they are reunited because they have things they have to work through, making themselves different versions to have a healthy relationship. So they can stop the nagging voices saying they aren’t good enough for the other. We had past seasons of promised “talks that never happened” from past showrunners but now we are finally getting it, so I don’t see how that’s bad.
Melissa, Norman, and Zabel have had long discussions about where they see their/the characters going; Melissa herself gushed about getting to delve into things she hadn’t for years and how she’s having so much fun getting to do the work. IMO, they’re NOW getting to do the show THEY’VE wanted to do for a while. I’m excited and here for all of it.

It's just lazy writing honestly. Saying that you want to develop a "mature relationship" between two characters and killing off the female character to fuel man pain is such a tired and dirty trope.
And from his own words in that article - caryl falling in love is "obvious" and "easy" and such a "TV book of tricks" (again - all of these words could have different interpretations.)
Like, my dude, "friends to lovers" is an old but gold timeless trope for a reason. UNLIKE, introducing a female character and killing her to serve the male character's man pain (if that is the route they are in fact taking - I would rather her live or have her death serve some larger/meaningful purpose - bcoz yes...i can't imagine Daryl and Isabelle together - they have known each other for two months and most it has been her lying to him/manipulating him - my man deserves better BUT I also want female characters to be treated fairly) Forcing a relationship between her and Daryl so that the audience would feel more for her when she dies - and completely reducing her death to prop up Daryl is NOT the way to go. Give her a meaningful arc and real/clear/grounded motives and emotional depth.
Also - can we like backtrack here for a minute - saying that making Caryl romantic would be too easy - is like the most ridiculous thing I have heard in a while. Besides the fact that they are both incredibly complex and layered characters of their own right (the best to come out of TWDU imho) - their shared journey is such a gold mine in terms of potential - there is angst, real emotional stakes and conflicts, so much freaking build up that was already established (I mean the entire s10 arc was basically the angst-iest fanfiction to ever fanfiction) - and underneath it all - a bond/understanding/love that is so revered by so many (even the non-carylers). AND - the chemistry between the actors is the perfect cherry on top of this fantabulous sundae. I mean, u can create a whole rom com and a half out of it.
The easy route is pairing Daryl up with a character like Isabelle. Because it doesn't take much creativity or much thinking honestly.
In short, if you are going to go with a TV trope - plz don't put your bets on something as tired and tedious as reducing a female characters death so that the man can cry a few tears. Go with the tried and tested and timeless dynamic so many ppl root for (I mean - I only recently joined twitter to get updates on the Book of Carol - and twdcaryl has been trending for like three days straight now - and that Entire hype is created by carylers- they are out there dissecting every teeny tiny bts pic that we get from s3 - and creating fan art and just non stopping talking about it.)
I only finished twd a few months backs and since then, have been obsessed with this dynamic. I can't say I have hopes for canon. And I have never once interacted with this fandom beyond liking posts and devouring caryl fanfiction from so many talented writers here. But this article just seems like the dumbest decision ever (like why dig your own grave)
Me about Caryl...

206 script questions
I am making an effort to be positive, but I also know there is some discourse here about script pages that have leaked from 206. I have received a couple of asks in the past couple of days about "not getting canon." So, I will try to address all of that here. Spoilers are going to be openly discussed so look away if you don't want to be spoiled.
First of all, yes, I have read the script pages in question. I know that those pages have been around for a few months and that they were being protected to keep the source safe. Admittedly, I did not read the pages until they were recently published on this site. So let me start by saying that in the spoiler game, anomynity is a BIG DEAL. We cannot risk spoiler sources as it can affect their employment. So I would ask that in the future, please take that into consideration if you come across spoiler info.
Now, onto my thoughts on the script. I have long thought that for Daryl and Carol to progress romantically, that each of them will have to heal from their traumas to move forward. In the small amount of information we read, it seems that both Daryl and Carol are being allowed to heal from their individual traumatic journeys. Carol's trauma being losing her children and Daryl's trauma is not being able to save everybody also known as his hero complex. It seems that Daryl has lumped Isabelle in with people he wasn't able to save, so it appears that she has died at some point in the second season. My point is, Daryl and Carol are both HEALING and that is a good thing.
I will add here that we have not seen the entire script only 5 pages and that is probably about 5 minutes of the episode. We do not know the context of where in the episode it takes place, even with the dialogue of "Let's go home." There could be more scenes after this one. I have said this before and I will say it again, "CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING!" So I will judge based on my own viewing and not from anyone else's interpretation. I am not advising you to take my word for it, but to watch for yourselves and make your own judgement.
Now about the "not getting canon" questions. I am not understanding what in those script pages make people think that we will not be getting canon. I was asked by one person if I would be okay not getting canon. Let me say this...I definitely think romantic canon will happen, if not in Season 2, but definitely in Season 3. That being said....I trust Norman Reedus and I trust Melissa McBride. They are both EPs on THEIR spinoff. They both seem to trust David Zabel, especially Melissa as she has said this in several interviews and press releases now. The section of fans who have stated that they have Melissa's best interests at heart, do not seem to be listening to Melissa when she has repeatedly said, she is excited about the direction of the storytelling. Now, Norman and Melissa have a certain amount of creative control. Let me repeat... I DO want romantic canon for Daryl and Carol. I will be disappointed if romantic canon is not what Melissa and Norman want, but I will definitely respect the wishes of Norman and more specifically Melissa. I would expect that all fans will respect Melissa's wishes if it turns out that romantic canon is not what she wants.
I do think we are GOLDEN for full blown romantic canon though. So Caryl on EVERYBODY! The best is yet to come!

Dear fellow carylers, Melissa's return gave me relief, Tribeca made me happy and hopeful, but SDCC definitely closed the deal! I'm not only positive, I'm confident that caryl is endgame and canon is the only possible outcome.
Why? Because I never saw Melissa this happy and relaxed before. Ever. She's glowing and giggling! It's beautiful to witness and everything I ever wanted for her. Her happiness gives me confidence and I trust that she's getting what she (and all of us) want.
After so much disappointment, frustration and uncertainty, it feels really good to enjoy my love for caryl besides fanfiction. I'm happy to say I'm looking forward to TBOC and that I currently have very little reservations about it after all, AMC is AMC. September can't come fast enough.
LET'S CARYL THE FUCKING ON!

I almost started liking Jeremiah in S1 but preferred Conrad more. After S2, any chance for me to like Jeremiah was gone 😅 Team Bonrad all the way for me!
They can never make me like you Jeremiah Fisher
