A 1992 French documentary about Nintendo contained archive footage of the development process of Super Mario Bros. 3. Here, the developer is seen using the Nintendo-internal level editor on what appears to be an early version of Level 7-Airship with a different palette. The bottom footage shows a debug function within gameplay where Mario is able to move freely through space without collision. In Luigi’s Mansion 3, the AI used for characters following Luigi sometimes causes them to turn around in circles if Luigi takes a certain path. Immediately after rescuing E. Gadd in the beginning of the game, descending the stairs on the right side with Luigi in the manner depicted will result in E. Gadd running in a circle indefinitely until Luigi approaches him again. In Super Mario Odyssey, capturing a Goomba in the ruins in the Sand Kingdom and then leaving the ruins and walking over to a Jaxi station reveals that the lamp post is afraid of Goombas and will say “Eeek!” when Mario approaches in this form.
