Study of Hunter and Omega! And just an excuse to draw Hunter’s moko 😜 didn’t want to spend too much time on this one, hence the sloppy background and lighting/shading lol- but I liked this shot nonetheless.

I’m still figuring out how I want to draw Omega- one thing for sure is that I believe after leaving with TBB she’s free to let her hair be natural and I think we were robbed of seeing her with a cute little ‘fro! 😌

✨ IN THIS BLOG, WE LOVE PHEE GENOA ✨ So, I decided to dedicate this week's art for this wonderful woman.

Oh, and I have a Tech x Phee art in my WIPs Folder, something I'm so excited to share to everyone. It will also be added to the freebies I give out on my shop.

And no, I'm not happy that this draw series is almost over. Because that only means one thing.

I feel like the lack of damage was a little bit of a meta-point to CX-2 being Tech; it keeps his war crimes to a minimum, so he's not basically forbidden to ever go back there. (And rebuilding boats is something he knows how to do.)

And yeah I do think a reveal like that really can't have him solidly memory wiped still; it just fails to work except as a sad point. But if he's working his way free, or just free all together, then it's more of an examination of what they know about the process vs. thought they knew. Crosshair assumes CXes can't be reasoned with; Rex keeps trying. The truth is maybe somewhere in the middle.

Like, okay, here's the thing.

We spend an entire sequence with Phee on a random moon where CX-2 sneaks onto her ship, steals data, stares at her, then sneaks off. None of that scene was necessary, at all. It could have been handled in his conversation with Hemlock the same way the interaction with Cid was.

It wasn't. We see Phee's ship for the first time, we listen to her argue with Mel, we see her have a security measure that CX-2 actually trips (to his obvious annoyance), watch her realize CX-2 is there (though she doesn't catch him). And then rather than leave, he stays to watch her go.

This whole scene is over 3 minutes. That's a big piece when the entire episode is 20m long. Why is this here?

It's not because CX-2 is no one. If he was, this scene wouldn't be here.

The Awkward Moment of Silence was so...it felt like a director was literally off screen saying OKAY LOOK SAD. PERFECT, KEEP GOING. ??? Meanwhile Crosshair gets a private moment setting up a memorial for Mayday and the last 2 members of his squad while Hunter creeps in the background. Mayday was in one episode, Tech has more screentime than any other Batch member in S1 and 2 are we for real!!!

Assuming CX-2 is Tech, I actually don't think Tech is in his right mind in 11 but I do think he's slowly waking up, getting more control. It makes me wonder if he relapses and this is why Hemlock has had him babysitted in a way the other operatives aren't, called him in DEAD last. His ONLY choice.

This isn't comparable though, because Cad Bane is a pretty significant figure in SW comics and animation, AND has a presence in live action. It's the equivalent of Ventress showing up--it's a spotlight cameo to shout CAD BANE IS IN AN EPISODE YOU LOVE CAD BANE RIGHT?

CX-2 is a brand new individual introduced in this show who exists nowhere outside of it, and may not after the series ends. So why does he have this spotlighted interaction with Phee, more screen time than Echo? Why do that for a nobody?

I am currently in the process of writing my master's thesis. My research is about age & Star Wars characters. The research is trying to investigate whether there is a difference in fans of different ages liking or disliking certain characters that appear throughout Episodes 1-9.
