It should not have gotten to this.
Seriously. You’d think that as medical school enrollments expanded the system would do the best they could and resolve the physician shortage by adding more residency slots in the Miyagi Prefecture. That wasn’t the case at all.
In fact, all the residencies and medical internships you’ve applied for haven’t gotten back to you. It’s been over a month now, and the only emails you’ve received from them are ‘I’m sorry to inform you’ letters and ‘waitlisted’. Not even one acceptance letter. It sucked.
Just when you lost hope, you stumbled across an article for one that was unrealistically near you.
‘Medical Internships Available for Upcoming Optometrist! Miyagi’s Hospital Center: Medical Training Program ran by Dr. Matsukawa Issei, MD. Location: Dr. Matsukawa’s Office.’
It sounded way too good to be true... and it was only a 15-minute drive from your place..? Out of mere curiosity, you clicked on the advertisement without a second thought and ah — there it was; a catch.
Only one person could be accepted.
Well, desperate times call for desperate measures, so you filled the application anyways and hoped for the best.
And for some odd reason, you were actually selected.
You don’t know how, but you actually got chosen. Now here you are, in front of his office in your car. You take one last anxious look in your rear-view mirror, reassuring yourself that you looked somewhat presentable before gathering your belongings and heading to the entrance.
“Here goes nothing.”
Once you push past the doors, you couldn’t help but notice how empty the lobby was. There weren’t any patients waiting, and the T.V used for entertainment purposes was off. Maybe the office was closed? You brush these thoughts off before turning your head to be greeted by a lady. She seemed young, about the same age as you or a little bit older.
“Hello?” she calls, she doesn’t bother looking up at you as she continues to type away on the computer. You turn your head around swiftly to face her, offering an awkward smile.
“Oh! Uh, Hi! I came for Dr. Matsukawa’s internship program?” The woman makes a face that you can’t read — confusion, you might say? Either way, she does an excellent job concealing it as she rolls a pen and a few papers your way.
“Fill these forms out for me and I’ll tell Dr. Matsukawa that you’re ready for him.” she explains, giving you a tight lipped smile.
You take the papers and pen, taking a seat on one of the many comfortable chairs in the room. You finished filling out the form rather quickly, getting up to return the papers back to the front desk, until you suddenly hear bickering. It sounds like the lady that was at the front desk not too long ago and oh, a male voice too. Although you shouldn’t, you let your curiosity get the best of you.
“Hey, is everything okay here — oh.”
It’s the doctor himself. He raises an eyebrow at you, his attention that was once on the lady was now at you, then looking down at the folders he was currently holding, rummaging through them. He looks back at you, using his pointer finger to gently lift up his glasses.
“You must be L/N?” he clears his voice, as if he wasn’t just arguing with the lady next to him seconds ago, waiting for you to reply.
Dr. Matsukawa is extremely attractive.
The hell? Since when did you have a thing for older men? Is that wrong to say? He looks like a very busy man, even though there were no patients currently in the office. There’s a huge height difference between him and the lady and the way he has to look down at you leaves you with no choice but to close bite on your bottom lip.
Your eyes wander down to his lower body, meeting the dress shoes he was currently wearing, and from there, your eyes take in the tight black pants and the way his fitted navy blue shirt outlined his abs slightly, his white lab coat topping the outfit.
“Ms. L/N?” The man calls out again, his fingers gripping the stacks of files in his hand a bit tighter as he gave you a concerned look. Your head jerks up immediately to face Dr. Matsukawa, your stomach doing flips when you make eye contact with him. “Ms. L/N Y/N is your name. Am I correct?”
You gulp, eagerly nodding your head. “Uh, Yeah — Yes. Yes, that’s my name.” You stammered. You break eye contact with the doctor, eyes drifting to the lady standing next to him.
Dr. Matsukawa flashes you a bright smile before giving you a firm nod, lifting his arm to direct you to another room. “You can follow me — Is everything alright, miss?”
“Y-Yes!” You mindlessly shake your head, struggling to move your feet from where they’re planting. You’ve suddenly realized how unprofessional you’ve been acting and it’s because of the extremely hot doctor in front of you.
“Please, take a seat.”
He’s taken you to a.. patients room..? You were expecting an office. You’re assuming this is where he’ll be discussing the activities you’ll be doing today. You take a seat in the medical recliner, examining the room as he brings out your information in a folder. “Your files show that you’re a really good student, who has a great amount of experience on leadership skills and opportunities,” he affirmed. He looks up at you, shifting in his seat as he continues to look over your papers.
“Uh, Yes, that’s true. I can name some—“
“Let’s get straight to the objective for today, shall we?” The way he suddenly interrupted you by slamming the folder together causes you to flinch, there’s a sudden mischief in his eyes that cause your throat to dry up, and now he’s staring at you. Like boring his eyes on you waiting for a response. You swallow hardly before nodding, causing him to grin. “I’ve already reviewed everything I need to know about you. I don’t want to waste another minute.”
He’s nice. Weird, but nice. Which doesn’t help because his odd (yes, odd) behavior was turning you to someone who you weren’t, which was shy. You’d like to say you’re a pretty confident and outgoing person who’s able to maintain eye contact and keep a conversation going with others, but for some reason, this man in front of you was different.
“I’m going to be running some test. I hope that’s fine with you?” He announced, leaning foward while adjusting the nobs on the lamp. You should be asking questions, you should, because you didn’t know this interview would require “tests”. You don’t even care to at this point, you’re just grateful you got selected, so you nod your head. “Perfect. I’ll start by checking your eyesight.”
“Uh, Dr. Matsukawa, forgive me for overstepping , but what do these test have to do with the internship?” The doctor hums in acknowledgment, leaning down so he can get a good look at your eyes through the lens.
“Can you see the dot?”
You squint your eyes so you can see the so called ‘dot’ he’s talking about more clearly “Yes, I can, but—“
“This was mentioned and is definitely part of the internship Ms. L/N. Did you not read the form?” He sighs, writing some notes down in his paper and you can’t even feel guilty because you’re too distracted at how big his hands are, huge knuckles and veiny. How can someone’s hand be so attractive?
“Well, I did but I just didn’t really see where it said that on the form, so I didn’t think that you’d be running some ‘tests’.” You quote his words from earlier, nervously chuckling. He sighs again.
“I’m going to test your eye pressure.” He stands up, holding an object similar to a pointer. He moves towards you, pointing to the red dot on the wall across the room.
“Keep your eyes focused on the dot and try not to blink. This won’t hurt, but it may feel uncomfortable.” You nod once again, resting your hands on your lap as Dr. Matsukawa squats in front of you so he’s eye-level with you. He gently places his hand in your knee, causing you to flinch.
Seriously, get your shit together.
“Are you alright? He basically snickered, you’re pretty sure he can feel the warmth radiating at your core.
You nod your head, eyes locking into the dot, cheeks heating up and turning into a bright pink shade. Dr. Matsukawa positions the equipment right in front of your eye before pressing a button that activated the device to blow a puff of air into your eye, causing you to blink.
“We’ll try again.” He maintains eye contact, refocusing the device on the center of your eye as his hand that was on your thigh slight reaches higher, going under your pencil skirt causing you to flinch again.
“I’m sorry,” you breathe, letting out an extremely nervous sigh.
“I’m going to hold your head so you don’t pull away. Is that alright with you?” He explains, giving you so soft smile.
You nod your head rather keenly. Your heart flutters at the contact, the grip on the back of your neck not too tight but strong enough to prevent your head from moving.
He starts the device again, watching you fight the urge to blink. He smiles when you don’t blink, removing his hand from the back of your neck.
“Good girl. You just need someone to keep you in place, yeah?” his other hand rubs your thigh and you couldn’t help the whimper slips out your mouth at the nickname.
Dear God help you. It’s like this man knows that you find him attractive.
“Yeah..” you answer, he stands up with the equipment, writing some notes down on his note book before closing it.
“We have one more test and that’ll be all for today.” He leaves the room for a short period of time and comes back with the other lady from before, she’s carrying a box and places it right next to you.
Dr. Matsukawa follows behind the lady, taking a seat across from you. Why the hell did they look like they were about to dissect your body?
“Do you know what’s inside that box?” he beamed, you turned your head to look at the box the lady had placed next to you, tilting your head and slightly squinting your eyes so you could get a better look at the text.
‘Magic Wand — Vibrator Sex Toy.’
What. The. Fuck.
Dr. Matsukawa grins when he watches the harsh breath you take, the lady next to him staring to the side with a bored look.
“W...What’s that for?” You eyes remain staring at the box.
He grins, “You do know what this is used for, right Ms. L/N?” You stare back up at him, swallowing hard.
“Is... Is this why you put these restraints on me?” Your eyes are filled with pure terror, your breathing becoming uneven when Dr. Matsukawa chuckles darkly. What was going on in your head when you willingly let him tie your hands up?
“No need to fret,” He attempts to touch you and you only flinch in response. “What, you can’t handle getting touched by a vibrator?”
You cringe at his word choice, shaking your head when he takes a closer step at you.
“Also,” He’s hot in your face, your breath hitches when you remember that you two aren’t the only ones in the room. You look over to the lady with a pleading look, but she only looks away. “I’ve noticed the way you’ve been looking at my most naughtiest places, Ms. L/N.”
“No... No! It’s not like that I swear!—“
He swiftly faces away from you and you bite your bottom lip. “But of course, if you’re not comfortable with this, I won’t force you. I’m not into stuff like that anyways.”
It’s only then you finally remember to breathe, you shift uncomfortably when he places a hand in your thigh.
“But you’re a good girl, right? You know how to follow directions.” It takes a while to register his words, you’re too busy in your own world, wondering how the hell you got yourself in this position. You don’t even notice his hand was cupping your cheek.
“You see,” he starts, “I don’t want to hurt you.. I just want to study you. That’s all.” He assured with that charming smile that could get you to obey his every order.
So you nod.
“Perfect!” he gleams, “Nina, would you mind stepping to the side for me?”
She follows his request, clipboard in her hand. You give her an unsure look and she looks like she’d rather be anywhere else but here. You don’t blame her.
“Nina over here took her test 3 years ago,” He announces, “Took it like a pro, isn’t that right, Nina?”
She glared at Dr. Matsukawa, before nodding, “Yeah.”
“She’s a very hard working doctor and very successful, too. You should see her when the office is open! Handles the patients so well.”
He continues to ramble and proceeds to remove the object from out of the box, placing a battery and flicking the switch on.
“Wait!” you yelp, he switches off the vibrator and gives you a confused look. “What— what does this have to do with the internship? And what were the eye test for?”
“I’m going to review your vision before and after you achieve an orgasm.” he deadpans.
Your head cocks to the side, in fact, you feel light headed and you wonder how he said something like that so casually.
“You see, I’ve noticed that you’ve been holding your breath quite a lot every since you’ve gotten here, and I can’t help but wonder if you’ll do the same while your vagina is being stimulated.” you blankly stare, waiting for him to continue. “If this is true, and you do hold your breath while you orgasm, you could temporarily lose eye sight, or receive blurred vision due to the pressure that would be building up in your eyes.”
Help. Someone help. This man has lost his fucking mind. And the lady, Nina, why the hell is she not saying anything? Did she seriously go through this too?
Your jaw gapes as well as your eyes, staring at Dr. Matsukawa with a frightened look. Maybe you shouldn’t have applied for this internship. And then the dam finally breaks.
Honestly, you’re surprised you didn’t start crying when he restrained you. You’re absolutely too frightened to even fight back at this point, and even though he said you didn’t have to, you’re too afraid to speak at the moment. If you knew you’d meet crazy doctors like this, you would’ve quit med school.
“This causes your blood vessels in your eye to burst and trigger a small hemorrhage and temporary vision loss.” You let out a sob, “But don’t worry, it’s temporary.”
Like that was supposed to help.
He gently pats your head before placing a strand of hair behind your ear. “It’s okay if you don’t want to do it, baby.”
You face the floor as he rubs his thumb softly over your cheek. You find comfort as he cups your cheek, it’s almost as if it’s only the two of you there.
“I’m sorry if I frightened you, dear. I’m just so very excited because I’ve never met someone so... Inspiring,” You lift your head up to face him, and he lets out a soft chuckle. “With such leadership skills you have, I’m truly greatful you accepted this internship. I honestly find a strong interest in you, too.” His hand travels down your sides, pushing you closer to him.
“Really?” it’s barely above a whisper, breath hitching when his lips softly brush against yours. He nods against your lips, just about to bring them in before he hears a soft ‘tch’ coming from Nina.
“Ah, no need to be jealous, Nina. You’re still in my top 3.” He pulls away from you to grin at Nina, who doesn’t respond. She’s awfully quiet. You don’t know why, but those words sent a pang to your heart. Top 3? Does he have affairs with all his co-workers? Just how many girls has he done this to?
He turns back to gave you once again, delicately trailing his fingers on your sides. “You think you can be a good girl for me?”
You bite your lip, looking up at him and it’s the way he’s staring at you with such adoration — like he’s the only person you can count on.. You just want to make him proud. So you nod.
“Yes.”
You can see the way his eyes light up, and you can’t help he smile to yourself. It finally feels like you’re being useful for once.
“If you ever need me to stop, call out ‘strawberries’”
“Okay.”
Dr. Matsukawa grabs the small vibrator once again, turning it on to the lowest setting, testing the power of it in his finger before lifting your skirt up and placing it against your panties.
“Hah!” you gasp out, your hands pull hard against the restraint, causing Dr. Matsukawa to grin.
“Subject 5 has been restricted for a approximately 10 minutes now. An increased blood flow towards her genital has been detected after realizing what was about to happen to her.” Nina speaks into the recorder.
Subject 5, really?
He moves the wand from your clit, down to your folds, as he watched you writhe underneath the restraints.
“Poor baby,” he pretends to pout, “I don’t think you’ll be able to fully enjoy yourself being l restrained like this. You need to comforting, isn’t that right?”
“Mmm! Mhm.”
He chuckled to himself, before helping you remove all of your clothing, discarding your panties as well as your bra. Your nipples began to harden as the cool air got in contact with them. As he was pulling down your panties, he kneeled down and inspected the slick covering your pussy.
“Subject 5 has increased vaginal discharge, signifying that her body is preparing itself for sexual intercourse.” Dr. Matsukawa calls out before licking a long stripe on your pussy. Your hips buck, causing Dr. Matsukawa to chuckle as he rubbed the side of your thigh.
You weren’t one to get embarrassed easily, but it’s not everyday a hot doctor almost 2x your age sees you naked.
Your head bolts up when you realize Dr. Matsukawa was doing the same, removing his lab coat as well as his right-fitted navy blue shirt, to reveal nibs insanely fit body.
“You’re drooling, Ms. L/N.”

for those that still like “best part” here’s the third part. i unprivated it today!
best part ☁️/ 003. Takeru, meet Takeru.
masterlist | previous | next
a/n: hi hi i privated this and now i’m unprivating this today (07/18/21)
Tumblr media
Around 6, just like you promised, you planned to head to the park. The park wasn’t that far, about 15-20 minutes if you were to walk. You decided it was fittest to take a car in case Takeru would be too tired after playing in the park.
The community park was hosting a mini get-together with the neighbors who had younger kids, so you decided to take advantage. It would be good for Takeru since he wasn’t the best when it came to communicating with others.
“I cannot go to a children’s park in this,” Kuroo complained, “What kid goes to a park in this weather anyways? It’s freezing cold. For someone who gets paranoid easily, I’m surprised you’re letting Takeru out in weather like this.”
“Kuroo, stop nagging. You sound more like a mother than I do.”
Kuroo had only come in sweats and a short sleeve tee, which obviously was not convenient for such wintry weather. You can’t say you’re surprised, only Kuroo could do something so senseless.
“Why didn’t you bring a jacket knowing you’d have to drive an hour to get here in this weather?” You suppress a laugh, folding extra clothing in Takeru’s play bag.
“Y/N,” you look up at him from where you’re kneeling across the room. “Stop laughing. You’re packing Takeru extra clothes as if he’s hosting a sleepover. Do you think it’s normal to be doing this?” He sounds so concerned, you weren’t even sure if he was being serious until he burst out in laughter, leaving you looking unimpressed.
“You know what’ll be funny? Seeing you freeze to death because you have no extra clothes.” you sigh in faux disappointment, zipping up Takeru’s play bag.
“C’mon, I was just kidding.”
Your eye twitches before turning to face Kuroo, checking to see if he was cracking jokes again.
“Do you really want me to freeze to death out there? I don’t want the parents at the park thinking I’m immature...”
“You are,” you grin when he frowns, “But I think I have a jacket that’ll fit you. It’s oversized before you ask questions. I’ll be back. Don’t do anything stupid.” You put your pointer finger out as a warning before walking up the stairs.
Kuroo waits for you patiently, walking around your place and carefully looking at the portraits as if he were in a museum. He examines a small portrait placed on the island in the kitchen, it’s of you, Takeru, and what looks like your mother at a hospital. Your mother was seated in the hospital bed with tubes coming from her nose. You were positioned next to her on a chair with Takeru, who barely looked 1 in that photo, seated on your lap.
“Airi...” Kuroo clutches the miniature portrait in his hand tighter. He recalls you informing him about your mother’s disease when the two of you were together. The last time he had seen your mother, she looked extremely vigorous, he could barely tell she was ill. She looks more petite than Kuroo remembered in the photo and extremely pale. He wonders how your dear mother is, after all, Kuroo considered your mother as his own.
He’s instantly drawn from his thoughts when he hears discreet chattering coming from the bathroom.
“How is she? Is she okay?” He overhears a muffled voice, very similar to yours. He figures you’re probably on the phone, so he tries ignoring it to prevent himself from eavesdropping on the conversation. “She isn’t getting better... is she?”
Kuroo’s head jerks up. She? Is Y/N talking about her mother? The thought alone makes his heart heavy. He rotates his head to better listen to the private conversation, surreptitiously taking a silent step near the bathroom.
“What about dad? Where is he?” Your voice falters. Kuroo winces at how delicate it sounds, as if you're on the verge of breaking down. “What? What do you mean he left!?”
Should he check up on you? He doesn’t want you to know he was eavesdropping, he’d know you’d get upset, merely saying something along the lines of ‘it’s not your business, Kuroo.’ He knew how much you despised opening up about personal problems.
“Are you spying on my mama?” Takeru’s head tilted to the side with an unmistakable look of confusion on his face.
This was disconcerting. Well, for Kuroo. Takeru has barely looked his way ever since he’s been over here. Kuroo’s head immediately jerks down to Takeru to see the toddler and offers the little boy a self-conscious smile, the boy smiling back as he walks towards him.
“Shit — Of course not, I was just —“
“You said a bad word!” Takeru is nearly talking on top of his lungs and Kuroo’s pretty sure that Takeru isn’t even aware of it. He swiftly carries Takeru back to the kitchen before placing him down on the floor.
“Listen,” Kuroo breaths heavily, “Let’s.. not tell your mom about that, okay?”
“So I should lie.” The boy deadpans.
“No — no. Of course, not. Lying is bad. Never lie.” He puts his pointer finger out, and Takeru executes a firm nod.
“Do you like legos?”
Kuroo’s eyes widened a bit before gulping harshly. Did he seriously overlook what had just happened that easily? “Uh, yeah. I do, actually.” He stands to his maximum height. The little boy nods before looking away from him. Kuroo tries starting a conversation with the boy. “What’s your favorite set?”
For goodness sake, Kuroo. He’s 3. How would he know which set—
“The one where they beat all the bad guys!” The boy gleams, putting his small hands into little fist.
“Ah, cool. Do you know what the set is called?” Takeru puts his little pointer finger to his chin and thinks for a moment, nodding firmly.
“Uh Huh! It’s called ‘Ninjago’. It’s my favorite show,” the Takeru announces. Kuroo can’t help but smile when he sees Takeru’s eyes glimmer as he rambles about the show. “It’s about ninjas with super cool powers and they fight evil!”
“Really? That sounds cool!”
“Mhm. It is.” he nods, “I’ll be right back. Don’t move!” The boy dashes to his rook before Kuroo can respond and comes back with two lego figures.
“See! Look. These are my favorite ninjas, Lloyd and Jay. Lloyd is the green ninja and Jay's the blue ninja.” Kuroo crouches down as Takeru hands him the little lego, examining the lego with genuine interest. He nods every now and then as Takeru continues to explain in heavy detail, just for Kuroo.
“So you really like legos, huh?”
“Yep! I even build the sets!” Kuroo chuckles before stroking the little boy’s head. Although Kuroo had just met Takeru, he can already tell that the boy is very passionate when it came to lego sets. It’s good, he thinks. At such a young age, he already has a hobby.
“Dude, you’re honestly so cool. I don’t know any kids your age as cool as you.”
The boy gasped in excitement, “Really?”
“Really. I think you’d love engineering.”
“Here,” you throw the jacket at Kuroo and he quickly captures it. “And I don’t think Takeru knows what engineering is yet, Kuroo.”
“Yes, I do! Kenma-san told me. It’s when you build and create things.” Your eyes widen and you pick him up, placing a quick kiss on his cheek and adjusting his jacket.
“You’re right, Takeru. You’re so smart!”
“He gets his smarts from me.”
“Please, if that were the case, I’d be concerned.”
Tumblr media
It hasn’t even been a minute since you parked the car and carried Takeru out of it and he’s already dashing to the empty swing sets.
“Hold on, Takeru! I forgot your mittens in the car. I need to get them.”
“I can watch over him, that is if you even trust me to do so.” Kuroo taunts. You only roll your eyes.
“No, I don’t. I’ll be back.”
“Okay, bud.” Kuroo carries the toddler and places him on the swing, making sure he doesn’t accidentally slip off the seat. He starts with slow and shallow pushes, afraid that if he pushes any harder Takeru wouldn’t enjoy it.
He watches the other kids playing around while pushing Takeru, His eyes drifting to a couple taking a photo of their daughter attempting to go down the swing set. She looked frightened at first, until the father eventually coaxed the little girl to finally slide down, the couple cheering when she did so.
He smiles to himself, now mindlessly pushing Takeru. He wants to experience moments like that with his son, too. He knows it’ll take time, given the fact that it’s purely been a day since he’s met Takeru. He’s happy Takeru is slowly opening up to him.
“Tetsuro?”
“Tooru?”
Kuroo grins, holding the swing set to prevent it from swinging back and forth, then greeting Tooru with a hand shake. “What are you doing here, man?”
“Ah, you know. My sister and her husband are on vacation so I offered to look after him.”
“Kuroo?!”
“Oh, God. She’s coming.” Kuroo declares, just loud enough so you can hear it, Tooru on the other hand furrows his brows in confusion.
“Calm down. I already know what you’re gonna say,” Kuroo pats your head before you quickly swat his hand away. “He’s fine, see? Already making friends.” He points in the direction of Takeru, who’s sharing a lego figure with a boy that seems to be his age.
You smile at the sight; Takeru was never one to even converse with someone his mama didn’t know. You’re thrilled he’s making friends.
“Don’t get emotional with us, now.” Kuroo waves his hand in front of your face, shifting your gaze from the two boys. “You okay?”
“Yeah. It’s just relieving to see that Takeru is actually socializing. He would never willingly do that. I guess I’m just excited.” You look up at Kuroo and smile, he grins back before hugging your side to which you surprisingly accept.
“Y/N, I’m pretty sure you remember Tooru.” The brunette produces a tight-lipped smile.
“Of course I do. He was the one who forgot to pick me up from work that one time, no?” Your sarcasm causes Tooru to laugh nervously, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.
“Don’t mind Y/N. You remember how she gets when she’s hungry.”
“Oh no, it’s totally fine!” he chuckles, “Uh, what’ve you been up to?”
“Nothing much. You?”
“Just training.”
“Cool.”
“Cool.”
Kuroo looks at both of you curiously before glancing cautiously at Tooru. “The hell? What’s wrong with you two? You guys hate each other that much?”
“Uncle Tooru!” a little boy rubs up to Oikawa, as Takeru runs next to you and promptly takes a secure hold of your hand. “Meet my new best friend, Takeru!”
Your head immediately whips towards Takeru’s specific direction, a blatant shock laboriously written all over your face. Takeru nods in excitement as if he already knew what you were going to ask him.
“It’s true!” We also have the same name. His favorite character is Cole, Kuroo! Jay and Cole are best friends, which is extra proof that we are best friends.” Kuroo smiles at Takeru before patting him on the head, briefly recalling how Takeru had notified him about his favorite Ninjago character.
The other Takeru walks up to you with a grim look, his back facing the others.
“I promise to be a very good and dedicated best friend to Takeru.” He respectfully salutes, placing his small fist on his heart. You can only smile at him warmly, crouching down to the same level as the toddler.
“That’s a really big word.” you whisper playfully to him before tapping his nose gently and he giggles at the contact. Thank you for your dedication, Takeru.”
“I promise to be a good best friend to Takeru!” you drift your attention to your son, who’s lowering his head before Tooru. Tooru thanks him, giving him a thumbs up.
“I bet you are. It’s definitely not a coincidence that we came to the park today.” He comments and you chuckle lightly.
“I want Kuroo to push us on the swings!”Your eyes widen at your son's request, but you nod your head in approval as Kuroo gratefully accepts, chasing after the two boys, leaving you and Tooru alone.
There’s an awfully awkward silence. You don’t bother making eye contact with Tooru, although you do feel his ablaze eyes boring into the side of your cheek, making you bite the lower lip nervously. You try your best to focus your attention on Kuroo, who’s struggling to push both boys at once, smiling softly to yourself when he has to hold the boys so he could start over.
Tooru’s burning gaze is strong, you know he’s not going to let down until you acknowledge him.
“Y/N.” your breath hitches at the gruffness of his voice, along with your smile that falters. “Y/N, we need to talk.”
You reluctantly take a sharp intake of air, cocking your head to the side, almost in annoyance, your eyes still trained on Kuroo and the boys. “About?”
“Are you seriously going to act like I’m some stranger to you?” He scoffs, “Drop the playful act and grow up, Y/N.”
Your posture stiffens, and you finally make eye contact with Tooru. You’re unable to read his face. He looks... hurt? Or more like pitiful. Either way, it doesn’t ease your distressed state.
“Your mother called me last night.” He averts his eyes from you, “Your mother... She still thinks we’re together.”

Tumblr media
11:22pm.
Sitting on your living room couch, you frown at the sight, momentarily lowering your gaze to your feet, putting your hands patiently on your lap.
Kiyoomi promised to be here hours ago.
Your food, which you prepared with so much warmth and devotion, now sat cold and dull on the dining room table.
It’s okay, you think. He’s just busy. After all, he is a professional athlete. In a state of nervousness, you lick the skin of your bottom lip, your head hanging low, as your sweaty hands entwined and fiddled to help you distract yourself from worrying about Kiyoomi.
The situation is nothing new, it has happened many times in the past, he’s always been late. But it's okay, you know your Omi wouldn't hurt you.
You try to look at the positive side of this situation — he’s a very busy man. You decide it was best not to contact him simply because you didn’t want to bother him. There’s probably traffic, you think; and with that, you turn on the television to distract yourself from Kiyoomi’s absence.
12:00AM
Kiyoomi missed your anniversary.
"It's okay," you murmur to yourself. In truth, it was a weak way of assuring yourself that everything was just ‘okay’. A heavy sigh fills your lungs as you stand up from the couch and look back, covering the meals and packing yours in the refrigerator. You no longer had an appetite for food anymore.
You reheat Kiyoomi's meal in case he comes home soon, since you know he'll be hungry. After doing so, you headed to your shared bedroom.
Laying on your back, you stare up at the ceiling and reflect on your day. Upon reflection, it was indeed a cold and empty bed that greeted you this morning. You recall the drowsy state you were in, which caused you to attempt to cuddle Kiyoomi, but his empty side of the bed completely woke you up. He told you he wouldn’t have practice the day before, so where the hell is he?
As soon as you hear the thought, you shake your head. Now is not the time to worry. Kiyoomi hates when you worry. You drum your fingers on the bed and hum a melody out of mere boredom. Lifting yourself off the bed, you grab your phone on the nightstand, and turned it on in hopes that your Omi had left a message for you.
Nothing.
It’s as if you flounder, frowning at the blank screen and indignantly turning it off, mindlessly placing the device beside you. Only then do you hear footsteps outside your apartment, along with the sound of keys clinking on the floor.
“Shit.”
The familiar voice makes you grin as you open the door to your bedroom and peer over to the kitchen to see your Omi. Thrilled, you run up to him and tightly embrace him, oblivious to the fact that his hands are still on the side.
Of course. He hasn’t been able to wash himself since he’s just entered. You should’ve known he would be uncomfortable, he’s told you many times before. Clearing your throat, you remove yourself from the 6 foot man and awkwardly place your hands on your sides.
“You’re late,” you whisper playfully, tapping his nose. He doesn’t say anything, not until you tap his cheek softly. With a slight bending of his head, he finally meets your gaze. Even just a small action is enough to get your cheeks hot, averting your gaze to the ground.
“Yeah.” He finally speaks up, causing your head to jolt up to face him once again. It warms your heart to see him returning home, the way his mask lies below his chin; he’s finally returned. Softly stroking his cheek, you offer him a soft smile as you trail your fingers along his face. Kiyoomi clears his throat, then moves past you, leaving you to your own thoughts.
“It’s okay, we can just celebrate tomorrow. I know you’re tired." You try, he pauses before turning around with furrowed brows.
“Celebrate what?”
At that, your heart drops, along with the grin you previously had. He forgot. He forgot your anniversary.
“Omi…” You falter, “Our anniversary, remember?”
"Oh."
Oh.
For the entire day, you kept giving yourself excuses to relieve yourself because you genuinely believed your Omi remembered. You thought maybe he had a surprise he wanted to get you, that’s why he came home so late. You even wore the dress he'd compliment you on, just to please him, but he never acknowledged it. Now all he has to say is ‘Oh’? What a lame reply. In fact, you weren't even upset before (although you weren't aware he forgot your anniversary).
“Oh?” your browns knit together and you attempt to conceal the scoff that left your lips. “What do you mean, ‘Oh’? Omi I- I cooked.. I did everything and you-”
You’re quickly cut off when Kiyoomi tilts his head back in clear irritation. You notice his tongue darting from the side of his cheeks. “Y/N… I’m tired. Let’s talk about this tomorrow.”
“Do you know how frustrating it is to hear that, Omi?” you cross your arms and shake your head in disappointment.
Why are you suddenly feeling this way? Like there’s something tightening in your chest, and the same is happening in your throat as well. It's difficult to tell if you're breathing normally, but you do your best to ignore it.
“I don’t know what you want me to do, Y/N.”
Why did he seem like he’d be anywhere else but here? As if you’re being a hindrance to his well-being? He isn’t even trying to explain himself to you, you’re the one that’s doing all the effort.
“I want you to give me a reason to stay, Omi!” you shrugged when Kiyoomi’s head turned to face you with shock at your sudden outburst. “I’ve always been positive — or at least tried to be. I’ve been trying so hard for the past year and you just… You aren’t making it very easy for me.”
He takes a step closer to you but you back away, his face falls at your indifference. “We love each other. Isn’t that enough?”
“Do you love me, Omi? Because I haven’t been feeling your ‘love’ for me lately.” you use your two fingers and hold them up as quotations, just to emphasize how tired you were.
His eyes widen in shock, as if he wasn’t expecting those words from you. You already know how much he hates when you ask questions like these. He's already told you he loved you before. He doesn’t understand why you needed to hear it again. He plopped himself of the sofa, burying his face in his hands with a grown.
“Y/N, don’t be stupid-”
“I… I waited… All day. For you. You promised me you would be home.” you clench your fist. You attempt to calm yourself down with shallow breaths, trying your best to breathe properly through your nose. “You forgot our anniversary, Kiyoomi.”
“I had practice.”
“God, that’s all I hear!” you lift your arms up exhaustedly, “You… You’ve missed so many dates because you’re always out to God knows where! I always thought it would be enough if we both knew we loved each other but..."
“What are you trying to say? So now you’re planning on leaving?”
“Well, yeah. Since I never have anything to come home to.” you sniffle.
“I’m here. I’m what you come home to, Y/N!" He abruptly rises from the sofa and turns to you, his voice raising seemingly out of nowhere.
“Kiyoomi, when are you ever home?” you laughed humorlessly at the absurdity of his statement. “When have I ever came home to meet you there?”
“You really wanna hear me say it? You think I hate leaving home? I hate having to leave you. I miss you so much when I’m away from you.” He defends himself with a raised voice.
“Oh, really?” You cross your arms together and scoff dubiously, “If that were true, then why did you willingly go to practice on your day off?”
Nothing comes out of his mouth. His body tenses.
“I’m sorry I forgot our anniversary. It slipped my mind.” He sighs in exhaustion. He attempts to calm down the argument to prevent it from getting overly heated, although that’s far too late.
You purse your lips to prevent yourself from letting out a sob, though that horribly fails. Your sight becomes blurry as you violently wipe the tears rapidly falling from your face.
“That’s been happening a lot lately. Don’t you think?”
“You know this is part of the job, Y/N.” He says weakly, cursing himself for giving such a lame excuse.
“I know that,” You admit, “but I didn’t realize I would be living in the fringes of your career!”
You never meant for this to happen. You never wanted to lose your temper, Kiyoomi hated it when you did. He also hated arguments, a major reason as to why he never bothered to fight back with you. What he hated more, though, was making you cry.
Kiyoomi turns to face you, and his face visibly pales. He can feel his heartbeat spreading up, his hands cold and clammy and his first instinct is to embrace you. He hated this part of arguing.
“Why, Omi?” you sob in his chest.
“W..What?” He furrows his brows and mindlessly grips your waist firmer, his chin resting on top of your hair while his arm soothingly rubbed your back.
“Why do I always have to cry before you apologize? Why don’t you tell me you love me anymore?” Your head pounded and your heart thudded loudly in your chest. Everything was too loud. You hated the way Kiyoomi made you feel. You hated how unaffected he was by the clear disappointment in your eyes when he willingly admitted that he had forgotten your anniversary.
He doesn’t know why he hated saying ‘i love you’ back. He doesn’t know why the only time he’s able to kiss you on the cheek was when he thought you were asleep.
He thinks that maybe it’s because if he says the same thing over again to you, you’ll get tired of hearing ‘i love you’ from him. But what’s the difference when he’s always the one coming home and making you ball your eyes out? Wouldn’t saying ‘I love you’ repeatedly be better than not saying anything at all?
“I don’t..” he sighed painfully, “I don’t know.”
He hated when you cried. He hated the fact that you only cried when he's to blame for it. Despite your tears soaking through his jersey, he embraced you even tighter. You let go of his embrace eventually, he never did. As you clenched your fists to your sides again, you weren’t sure whether you wanted to hit him for constantly making you feel this way or give up on any hope you had that your relationship with Kiyoomi could work out. He softly ran his fingers through your hair as an attempt to calm you down.
"Omi," you whisper, nuzzling your arms deeper into his chest. There was a damp sensation on your cheek. If Kiyoomi was crying, you didn’t bother to check. You wanted to stay like this for a little while longer.
“Yeah?” his voice breaks. He buried his nose in your hair while inhaling the scent of your shampoo. He knew, in his mind, that this was likely to be his last time. Ah, how he wished he had embraced you more often.
“I can’t keep doing this anymore…”
“Yeah,” He sighs one last time, “I know.”
You hated the fact that Kiyoomi only showed you affection just when he was about to lose you.

best part ☁️/ 003.
She still thinks we’re together.”

oh honey, I am genuinely so sorry about everything you're going through. that anon was disgusting, please don't think too hard on what they said. they're ignorant and hateful and don't know anything. you dont deserve any of this.
I genuinely hope you well, and the best of wishes to you. your boyfriends a disgusting prick who doesn't deserve you. it's likely the same anon coming back again and again to attack you.
please get some rest and take as long as a break as you need.
thank you so much you’re too sweet. i know i shouldn’t think too hard on what they said but it’s just like hard yk? like the fact that someone actually thinks that way is kinda sad tbh. thank you so much for checking up on me it really does mean so much to me. i’m definitely gonna be taking another break from tumblr, i hope you have a good day 💗

Dude I'm so sorry you have to deal with that, it doesn't matter what they think and I may not know the whole situation with your ex but its okay to break up with someone even if you just don't feel like you should be together, if you have any reason or feeling as to why you shouldn't then it won't work anyways. But above all your health and safety is what matters most. Anyone commenting otherwise is completely irrelevant. You did what you decided was best for you and thats all that matters. For what its worth I'm so proud of you for being strong enough to leave a relationship that isn't right for you. And its okay to be sad even if that relationship wasn't right for you, its still something you're losing and thats sad. Don't let yourself fall to far because of someone else's unnecessary opinion. You did what you needed to do and thats not a bad thing. Be safe and remember you're important and your feelings are valid <3
i’m literally getting emotional omg thank you so much for this. thank you for going out of your way just to message me such sweet words you don’t know how impactful they are to me. i just wish people will understand that i left because i personally didn’t feel safe, there was a reason as to why i decided to even though it was probably the hardest descion ever. you’re a sweet and kind person i honestly hope you have a great day/night.
