2016 Winter Olympics: VANCOUVER (+ possible revision for country category)
Hey Club O members! We know you've been waiting for it for a while, but here's your exclusive benefits as outlined in Article 5, Section 27 of the Club O member agreement... just kidding, there is no Club O agreement! But, here's the exclusive stuff you've been entitled to since you joined: A new country scoring category? We've been working hard at revising those Olympics rules for weeks now, and good news - they're final as of today for the 2016 Winter Olympics! However, next on our list is the country category - USA always had the most Olympians, and that's something we aim to try to fix as of this season. Thanks to the coincidentally handy release of the points feature on Nitro Type, we've decided to try to implement a new system for country team scoring this season that integrates both points and races done as a number. It's a work in progress, but we aim to have it perfected by the 2017 Summer Olympics. Hold tight! VANCOUVER 2016 - WHO'S HYPED Good news - the host city poll has just come through with our results, and the winner for Winter 2016 is... Vancouver, Canada! Let's take to the country of our founder, EthanJ.S., for that sweet maple syrup... err, fierce competition, because while all the other countries will be coming over to contest their ranks from last season, Canada also has a formidable team competing this season! Good luck to all racers, and see you in Canada for Winter 2016! Dates to Remember: Winter 2016 Since some of our fellow Olympians like to keep a calendar, here's some dates to jot down and remember if you want to participate this season: - November 1st - Sponsor applications close for the Winter 2016 Olympics! We'd like to keep our bank tidy, and closing sponsor applications early is one way we plan to do that. - November 15th - Racer applications close for the Winter 2016 Olympics! There will also be a member purge that day (basically, any inactive members will be deactivated from the site to keep a more current roster) - be sure to log in to the site between now and November 15th if you participated in previous Olympics to guarantee your spot in this season's Olympics! - December 1st - The 2016 NitroType Winter Olympics will begin! Hurry over to Vancouver and get racing come December, because custom titles and prize money await for our best competitors! - January 1st - 2016 NitroType Winter Olympics end. So long, Vancouver. :( 2016 Winter: Rewards In case anyone forgot what we were racing for, here's the rundown one more time:
Rewards for Winter 2016 RankPrize (per category) 1st$14,000,000 + custom title "2016 Gold Olympian" 2nd$7,000,000 + custom title "2016 Silver Olympian" 3rd$3,000,000 + custom title "2016 Bronze Olympian" 4th$2,000,000 5th$1,000,000 Qualifying participant (see Olympics rules for qualifying>$100,000
And that's the end of this long article. We'll post this on the site news in three days, so enjoy the exclusivity while you can! - Olympic Committee

New Chat Room!
Hello Club O members! We have a BRAND NEW chat room! We realised that the previous chat room was very basic and it was easy for "fradulent" behavior to occur. With this new room there are many more admin capabilites. Plus, it's way more fun! Please feel free to check it out and let us know what you think. Enjoy!

Setting up the NT Winter Olympics in Munich 2015.
So apparently Munich really wanted to host the NitroType Winter Olympics in 2015, but they were unsure which direction to go because kids in Munich really like to build snowmen. Whenever a racer would speed by, the snowmen would either be smashed to bits or would be melted by the hot exhaust fumes. So we decided to try something: have the racers use solar power on their cars instead of conventional fuel. Of course, when the team engineers heard the news, they had to scramble to fix their teams' cars, but in the end, we witnessed some exciting stuff. And no emission, on top of that! :D
