Grey Tinamou (Tinamus tao) mother and chick, family Tinamidae, order Tinamiformes, Ecuador
Vulnerable.
The tinamous are an ancient group of birds, related to ratites (ostriches, rheas, emus, and cassowaries).
Though they are not strong flyers, they are capable of flight.
Tinamous are shy and secretive birds.

American Mink (Mustela vison) Color Morphs
A wild black mink, with the trademark white chin. [x]
A wild brown, nearly uniform in color, with a slightly lighter colored lip. [x]
Glow minks have vivid, warm orange-brown color. [x]
A seemingly wild white. I’m not quite sure if it is leucistic or albino, since it’s eyes are squinting, but both leucistic and albino mink exist. [x]
Pastel minks have a cool, lighter brown coloration than wild type browns.
Palomino goes a step further, with it’s creamy-tan fur and what looks like red eyes. [x]
Pearl is a lovely off-white creamy shade, again with red eyes. [x]
A gorgeous dark blue iris, with a steely blue color. [x]
This soft blue-grey sapphire is even more stunning with it’s dark points. [x]
Violet is the lightest of the blue morphs, with a light grey body and smokey-grey points. [x]

American Mink (Mustela vison) Patterns
A colorful wild brown, with a dark brown face, shoulders, and limbs. It’s white chin marking extends down it’s neck in a narrow stripe. [x]
This black crystal looks like the mink equivalent of the silver morph in red foxes. It’s black coat is ticked with white guard hairs, especially on it’s back and head, and has the trademark white chin. [x]
Labeled royal silver, this dark mink has white undersides and extensive areas of white ticking. [x]
A black and white mink. [x]
A gorgeous black cross, it’s blue-grey body with a black dorsal stripe, black crown with white blaze, and white undersides and face. [x]
Many colors come in the cross pattern, like this sapphire cross. It has a dark grey patch on it’s head, dorsal stripe, and a more even ticked coat than the black cross. [x]
Jaguar mink, the term jaguar seems to be used for pied minks with high amounts of white. It’s head, shoulders, and forelimbs are white, with brown spotting along it’s back, and a nearly solid tail tipped in white. [x]
This flashy spotted has the upper areas of it’s face and tail black, with spotting along it’s back. [x]
Labeled as black crystal, I can’t be sure if this is the accurate term for this lovely mink. Pure white, aside from a black, ferret-like mask, an ermine-like, black tipped tail, and paws with black uppersides. [x]
Marked as gletcher, this white mink is freckled with a light dusting of black on it’s tail, body, and face. [x]
