ISTG Will GRABS MIKE’S ARM. Okay idk if this has been talked about before but literally LOOK. I came across this clip when I was making an edit today and I realised for the first time. In the video it’s obviously off screen but I feel like part of the reason that explains why Mike locks in (and gets a bit nervous, glancing at Will’s lips and all) isn’t just out of nowhere or Will’s tone but because Will GRIPS his GAHDAMN ARM. You can see the movement of Will’s arm going up and then Mike slightly shakes on the spot at the same time as you hear the actual sound of Will grabbing his arm and then you can also see his arm fall back down again after he’s got his point across and has turned his attention back to El again.

Okay I might be SO late to the party on this but I SWEAR I’ve never seen anyone comment on this in my literal YEARS as a Byler fan. I may also be making this a bigger deal than it is but it’s 2am and I’ve been sick in bed for a week so I’m either just dumb or delirious.

i remember the ga getting like- SO mad when mike said "my life started the day i met you" to el or whatever he said, and being super sad for will but they still refuse to ship byler because they don't think it will happen because of the confession:

I was listening to some of the stranger things songs and I noticed these two were sorta similar, but when listening to them, they sound kind of incomplete but I read somewhere that you have to put them together for it to sound complete, so I did and I have also been rewatching stranger things again and I realized that not only do the songs sync up but also the scenes they’re played in

If you play these two scenes side by side it’s almost like a lie detector, one scene is the truth and one is a lie and when El is crying it’s as if she knows that Mike is lying to her.

Idk if any of this makes sense, maybe i’m just looking too deep into this but the scenes just match up a lot.

WillElMike Love Triangle Dynamic

This love triangle's psychological dynamic is just- absolutely insane to me so I decided to do a little (massive) psychoanalytical diagram. This isn't necessarily to argue for or against any ship, but you can kind of make your own conclusions.

Psychological Terms Glossary:

Displacement of Anger: A psychological defense mechanism where a person redirects anger, hostility, or other negative emotions from their original source to a different target. It's a way of coping with uncomfortable or threatening emotions by unconsciously channeling them elsewhere.

Saviour Complex: An individual feels an overwhelming need to rescue or be needed by others, often to the detriment of their own well-being.

Anxious Attachment Style: characterised by a deep-seated fear of abandonment and a strong need for validation from others. This is often linked to early childhood experiences of inconsistent or unreliable caregiving.

Pathological Altruism:  Altruism which attempts to promote the welfare of others instead results in unanticipated harm to the self or others.

Protective Buffering: Refers to the act of hiding or minimising one's own concerns, worries or negative emotions in order to protect someone else from distress or burden, leading to unintended negative consequences.

The thing that the ga doesn’t understand is that one of the reasons vecna chose will to manipulate is because will believes that he has no support system at all, no one understands what he went through except mike, and he’s lost mike at the end of s4 (or so he believes). But Vecna’s wrong, you guys. Of course he’s wrong. And I think the ga forget that everyone in the show, everyone, appreciates and supports and loves Will. That’s what he’ll need to understand, that’s all he needs to defeat Vecna - he’s clearly the key to closing the UD, but not in the way the ga think. He’s obviously willing to sacrifice himself, but only because he thinks he’s not loved. When that misbelief fades, like it HAS TO- that’s when Vecna will be defeated, not when Vecna is proven correct.
