Call Your Mother (2021) [I like it, other people donāt.]
Quick Honest Opinion:
I really liked it, but I understand why other people really disliked it. I agree some of the casting could be better, and some things could be tweaked for an adult audience. But I enjoyed it for multiple reasons. If you like D-Coms (Disney Sitcoms), you might like this show (especially since hot boy Joey Bragg is in).
Best Season:
Season 1. There is no other season since it was canceled. But Iām still gonna talk about it. So the premise is that Kyra Sedgwickās character, Jean Raines, is an empty nester who moves to California from Iowa due to the fact that's where her children live. I also will be including the notes I took while watching at the end as a bonus, so I'm sorry if I repeat some stuff. Sedgwickās character is probably the only one that has any huge character development in the season since she kind of deattaches of the role of being only a mother, and becomes an independent widow who is also a mother. So thatās actually quite nice, and she's a very sweet character.
Worst Season:
Season 1. Like I said I enjoyed it, but I understood why other people didnāt. Lane (Jackie Rainesā roommate), who I believe is the only sort of main character that is a person of color aside from Sharon (Jean Rainesā best friend who still lives in Iowa). Though Lane is treated like a token gay character so I donāt love that, but I still love him with all of my heart. I do agree that some jokes fall flat a lot, again though, flat in a way some D-Coms are. It relies on Midwestern humor and like making fun of California, which I donāt mind. I think it's fine to poke fun at the Midwest and stuff.
Is it good?:
I thought it was pretty alright.
Good for its age?:
Yeah, Iād say so for the most part.
Best Character:
Damn, that's hard. For simplicity, Iāll say Jean Raines. While I think sheās an absolute sweetheart, sheās not my favorite character but objectively is the best one. Sheās just a nice lady who wants to love on her kids (even if it's a little um, helicopter parenting and choosing favorites). Aside from that, she seems like a good person. She and her love interest whose name I never remember have good chemistry. I remember that the love interest is in the process of getting divorced during the season run, so Jean makes a mature choice to wait until he is divorced to start dating. Which personally, I thought was nice since most sitcoms make characters only do dumb shit for the sake of plot, while she made a mature choice and it still made a good episode plot.
Worst Character:
Uhh, probably Jackie Raines. She is Jeanās daughter. Her character falls flat and straight into hell with Lil Nas X, and not in the good way. Her character is just really confusing and bad. Her actress does not help this in any way, and could have easily been replaced with any other white woman. I find her annoying, and often I see why Jean favors her son over her daughter.
How many seasons could I take?:
All of them.
How many eggs?
A nice handful.
Bonus Notes!
- love the mom
- Lane is a sweet boy and Mother Raines call him cookie and I scream tears of joy
- No one likes Celia but I love her
- Also Joey Braggs is still hot
- Show is cancelled (I honestly would watch more seasons, but a fuck ton of people hate this show oops)
- I donāt care for Jackie (but honestly a lot of mental health issues are similar to mine so maybe thatās why (but also Jackieās actor could be way better))
- Jean and the Australian guy have good chemistry
- They use the term partner a lot and itās really chill because normalizing the term partner is great for normalizing queer relationships
- Also when Celia and Joey Braggs character get engaged is good
- Needs less white people, relies heavily on Midwest humor (even though we should be made fun of)
- Lane is treated like a token gay character but I still love him
- It reminds me of a much much incredibly worse whiter One day at time (2019)
- Celiaās relationship issues same dude same
- Fuck you google reviews Celia and Joey Braggās character are adorable
- Sharonā¤ļø

Seinfeld (1989-1998) [End my suffering]
Quick Honest Opinion:
I hated it. I hated it. I despise this show. Iāve been driven to insanity, and I donāt think Iāll ever recover.
Best Season:
The 9th one (because then it ended)
Worst Season:
The 1st season (because it started)
Is it good?:
No.
Good for its age?:
No.
Best Character:
Cynthia. Oh, you donāt know who that is? Thatās because she appears in one episode, and the only reason sheās the best character is because she is played by Maggie Wheeler.
Worst Character:
George Constanza
I fucking hated this man. I understand that the whole premise of Seinfeld is that it's funny because theyāre literally horrible people, but it's unfunny and causes inhumane suffering. But, if I ever see George Constanza again, I will literally pull out my eyeballs and stab my ear drums so I never have to see or hear that man again. He is the reason it took me almost three years to watch this show in its entirety.
How many seasons could I take?:
All nine.
How many eggs?
0, please I never want to talk about this show again.

Call Me Kat (2021)
[eh]
Quick Honest Opinion:
Itās not that good. If youāre a white mom who loves life hacks, āLive, Laugh, Loveā signs, and have a gay child that you donāt know what to with, you might like this show. Personally, I think it felt like walking into a PTA meeting with āwokeā mothers named like Karry or something.
Iām reviewing the first season at the moment, because at the time of writing this it hasnāt been renewed for another season.
(Update: It got renewed because it is in fact owned by FOX, so there probably will be an update.)
Best Season:
Season 1
Worst Season:
Season 1
Is it good?:
I would not say itās good. It definitely had its moments, and does follow a much more respectable quality than some other sitcoms. The concept itself is good, it just needs better writing. Also the whole mess with Kat and Max, I just found irritating than anything it was supposed to be. Both of them are just one big sigh.
Though, I do love garbage, so itās a good show to watch if you just need some noise. I donāt hate it, but I also donāt think about it all.
Good for its age?:
Yeah, Iād say so, I guess.
Best Character:
Phil, mainly just because I love Leslie Jordan and his sticker collection.
Though, Kyla Prattās character, Randi, is a close number one.
Worst Character:
A tie between Kat, Mayim Bialikās character, and Max, Cheyenne Jacksonās characters. Personally, I just donāt like them. (Also Iām pretty sure Cheyenne Jackson is queer, so itās hard to see him as a straight dude)
How many seasons could I take?:
All of them so far.
How many eggs?
Like two eggs, not even enough for a good omelette.

One Day At a Time (2017-2020) [Go fucking watch it, youāll cry]
Quick Honest Opinion:
Go fucking watch it, and then come back and read my review. Itās fucking beautiful.
Best Season:
Itās so fucking hard to choose, but Iām gonna say its Season 1. It keeps you compelled to keep watching, and the final episode of season 1, āQuincesā , makes me ball my eyes out.
Worst Season:
Season 4, but only because it was cut down in its prime. Itās a great season, and you should watch if you can get your hands on it. It makes really good points on certain topics, and the final episode, āThe Politics Episodeā, is very good at handling itās main topic. (Personally I did cry when I watched this episode, but I remember that being because I knew the show was permanently cancelled at that point.)
Is it good?:
YESSS, oh my god its so good
Good for its age?:
YYESS
Best Character:
Penelope Alvarez!
Sheās the main character, and is written wonderfully. Her actor, Justina Machado, is a great choice for her. Sheās strong, passionate, and deals with mental health issues in a realistic un-romanticized way. Penelopeās funny and is overall just a good depiction of a mother trying her best for her children. Her plot line with accepting Elena as a lesiban is really well done, it shows the relationship of modern Gen Z and Millennial ideas and Gen X clash.
(Though personally I love Schneider a fuck ton, heās a loveable dumb little trust fund baby)
Worst Character:
Victor Alvarez.
I only say heās the worst character because I like him the least. I know he was supposed to be heavily flawed, and is to go through character growth. But a lot of the time, he just hits a certain spot in my heart that hurts.
He has a poor relationship with Elena, that he is trying to improve, but a lot of the time, I find his decisions as a parent poor. In the episode, āWhat Happenedā, Elena confronts Victor and shows him how much of an ass heās been to his only daughter.
His relationship with Penelope is often on the rocks, after lying to her multiple times, I find it hard to like him.
He just doesnāt think before he acts.
How many seasons could I take?:
All 4 seasons. I've watched it all the way through twice, and 5 times through 1 - 3 seasons (due to Netflix only having the first three seasons).
How many eggs?
So many damn eggs, itās beautiful and perfect.

Golden Girls (1985-1992) [Has its moments, but not bad, but not good]
Quick Honest Opinion:
I enjoy it quite a bit, but it does have minor racist and lgbtq+phobic tones that a lot of 80s and 90s sitcoms do. (But, it does handle gay humor better than some other sitcoms of this time.)
Best Season:
Season 2. Contains some really good episodes such as āTo Catch a Neighborā, āLong Dayās Journey Into Marinaraā, āThe Actorā, āSistersā, āIsnāt It Romantic?ā and āFamily Affairā. But, it does have the worst episode of the all of the seasons, which is āEmpty Nestsā.
Worst Season:
Season 5. While Season 5 contains some bangers like āSick and Tired Part 1ā and part 2, it also has one of the dreaded flashback episodes, and it is a two parter :ā(. Micheal, Dorothyās son, just comes and lives with them, the episode totally ignores the fact that he has left his wife and child. Also fucking Miles comes and appears in this season, and fuck Miles, he sucks. Season 5 is very good, don't get me wrong. Just some personal grievances with certain aspects.
Is it good?:
Yeah. Itās a little rough around the edges, but good in certain aspects.
Good for its age?:
Definitely, it has multiple episodes with queer characters, and people of color which I find is very uncommon in sitcoms from 90s and 2000s.
Best Character:
Dorothy Zbornak
While personally my favorite character is Ms. Blanche Devereaux (Because I enjoy her promiscuousness and overall attitude [even if her lines are insensitive at times]), I find Dorothy is more well balanced and easily likable than some of the other characters. Dorothy is intelligent, sarcastic, and has somewhat of a more open mind rather than Rose, Blanche and Sophia. Like for example, Blanche has multiple occasions of being awkward with the existence of homosexuality as just a componet of life, while Dorothy doesnāt really care either way.
Though in plenty of ways, Dorothy is just a Sophia at a lower opacity.
Of course though, it should be taken in account that all of the Golden Girls have been racist in one or another during the showsā run especially in the episode āMixed Blessingsā, and plenty of comments by Blanche about the civil war and the south in general.
As well as all characters routinely turn on each other.
Worst Character:
Of recurring side characters, itās Miles Webber.
Heās somewhat awkwardly charming in the beginning of his Roseās romantic relationship, but as the show tries to flesh him out, it completely falls apart. Heās later revealed to be Nicholas Carbone who was just some account for a mobster, who was put into a protection program. Rose continues to date him, even though heās a total dick to her as the show progresses. (and in the spin off The Golden Palace, he cheats on Rose, [he fucking sucks ass])
Of the main characters itās Sophia Petrillo
While I love that Sophia is kind of ass at times, she is truly a pretty bad person. (Even if she does volunteer at a hospital) Like all of them, sheās incredibly flawed. I suppose some of her worst qualities do hit close to home for a lot of people, in that Sophia is incredibly mean to Dorothy (her daughter) at times.
Throughout the show it is heavily implied that sheās always been kind of a dick to Dorothy, which could explain as to why Dorothy is a bit more guarded and insecure.
Of very minor side characters, itās Gloria Petrillo.
She has no regard for her sisterās feelings, and is kind of an asshole in general. The kind I wanna slap to be exact. Even then, I find her character to be unlikable even when the show tries to make her a character can empathize with. (Like, uh, boo hoo that rich straight white lady belittles her sister and sleeps with her sisterās ex-husband?? Damn, wish I had that much money and arrogance huh.?)
How many seasons could I take?:
All of them, Iāve seen it 8 times.
How many eggs?
4 eggs, some could be rotten at times.

Frasier (1993-2004) [Garbage but i do love it to an extent]
Quick Honest Opinion:
Surprisingly good.
Best Season:
Season 9. Daphne and Niles are the only straight couple from the 90s that will ever own my heart. Niles is a simp for his wife and I respect it. While Season 9 isnāt the strongest season all together, it does have some good episodes like āDon Juan in Hell (Part 1)ā and part 2, āRoom Full of Heroesā, and āThe First Temptation of Daphneā.
[side note: Season 8 was tied with season 9 for best season]
Worst Season:
Season 8. While Niles and Daphne finally start properly dating in season 8, Jane Leeves (Daphneās actress) is pregnant during this season. So she was written out but they wrote her out as Daphne having a weight gain problem, and was sent off to fat camp. Which, personally, is very nausting for me as a fat person, because 90s and early 2000s shows tend to be very shitty toward fat people. (So itās a questionable season but has good parts.)
Is it good?:
Yeah, Iād say so. Itās 11 seasons were deserved.
Good for its age?:
Pretty alright. Feels like eating a fancy cheese, it tastes weird but you keep eating it.
Best Character:
Itās Roz Doyle.
While Niles is my personal favorite character, I feel Roz deserves the title more so. While she still has that 90s spit like all characters, she can get an amused breath out of me and is a strong and determined character constantly. She holds her head up high, and has excellent interactions with other characters, and real emotion.
Worst Character:
Of the main characters? Itās Frasier, heās arrogant and sometimes sexist to a point of āShut up, rich white manā, also heās a Freudian (gross). [I donāt enjoy his slutshaming toward Roz either, but almost all of the Frasier characters have slutshamed Roz at one time or another.]
Of recurring side characters, itās Noel Shempsky. Heās gross, awkward, and unfunny to a point of vomit. He constantly harasses Roz Doyle throughout the tv show. (Bulldog Brisco also does this, but still contains human qualities.)
How many seasons could I take?:
All 11 seasons twice.
How many eggs?
Lots of eggs, maybe too many?

How I Met Your Mother (2005-2014)
Quick Honest Opinion:
Itās pretty bad.
Best Season:
I donāt like any of them. But maybe Season 2??
Worst Season:
Season 8 (While I did like Robin and Barney as a couple, itās done in such a bad and nonsensical way that it made me hate both of them as non-self respecting people.)
Is it good?:
No. I will admit that I used to like it when I was a little younger, but after trying to rewatch I found myself disgusted at Episode 3 Season 1. The show has no humor due to the fact that all of itās comedy relies on slutshaming. And why the fuck is Ted Mosby telling his kids all the women he had sex with and humilated?
Good for its age?:
No. God no, itās not that old in comparison to some of the other shows. (Itās quite literally seven years old, last season aired in 2014.) The characters are awful people, aside from Marshall (whoās just kinda trying to do his best, while his wife is a prick) and Tracy who literally only existed as a main character for like 3 episodes so she didnāt have enough time to be an awful person.
Best Character:
Tracy McConnell
She didnāt have enough time to be an awful person.
(Honorable mention for Patrice)
Worst Character:
Ted Mosby
Oh my god, this man should be arrested. Heās disgusting, unfunny, slut-shames women, and I hate him. Robin, Marshall, and Tracy deserved better.
The only good thing heās ever done is calling Lily a āgrinchā.
How many seasons could I take?:
Iāve seen the show in full twice in my younger years, but in 2020 I couldnāt bare 3 episodes.
How many eggs?
Zero eggs. Eggs donāt exist anymore because of this show. Negative damn eggs.

Friends (1994-2004) [Garbage but I love it.]
Quick Honest Opinion:
Itās complete and utter garbage but I love it.
Best Season:
Season 5. (Monica and Chandler are secret dating, and the gods have finally accepted the fact that Ross is fucking unhinged.)
Worst Season:
Season 10. (Strong finish, but awful start. The Joey and Rachel Romance plotline is very very bad. Monica and Chandlerās and Phoebe and Mikeās plotlines finish with a satisfying ending. Ross and Rachel manage to get together finally, even though Ross is a groveling worm who the world is cursed with the knowledge that he exists. Ross attacks women. )
Is it good?:
God no. Itās not a good show necessarily, but god, is it good garbage.
Good for its age?:
Kinda, it was made during the 90s and early 2000s. It includes a few LGBT side characters such as Susan Bunch, Carol Willick, and Charles Bing.
Though, all of the main characters are white, and come from mainly middle class backgrounds except for Phoebe and Chandler. (Chandlerās parents were rich, while Phoebe grew up on the streets for the larger part of her life.)
If my memory serves me right, there is only one love interest who appears multiple episodes and was a person of color, Charlie Wheeler, a paleontology professor (Luckily she escapes Rossā grimy grasps and falls back in love with a Nobel prize winner).
Best Character:
Phoebe Buffay
I love her and I adore her. While my standards for humor are low, I think sheās out there in 90s and rocking it. Also Miss Lisa Kudrow I love you
[originally I said Chandler Bing but... like Phoebe, I have a whole ass character named after her]
Worst Character:
Ross Geller (Ross attacks Women, I need to say no more.)
How many seasons could I take?:
All ten. Iāve seen the entirety of the show over 10 times.
How many eggs?
Too many eggs whoop whoop
