"You sure?" Noah asked but she was past him before he could protest, though he didn't exactly mind. A unexpected ray of sunshine in what had been a cloudy week - Noah wasn't about to say no to that. And Lilah's energy was contagious, and it was catching. Closing the door behind him, he tossed down his leather jacket, moving over to help her with the beer, "you shouldn't have," his arms outstretched as she dumped it down on the nearest counter. As she turned to face him, he dropped his arms again quickly, caught suddenly by how close she was. "I'll see what I can find, shall I?"

“Oh, come on, there’s no need!" The girl didn’t hesitate entering the apartment, practically squeezing Noah against the door frame, and finally releasing the weight of the pack of beers on a surface. "I’m sure you got something tasty here?”

It wasn't easy - leaving - but it had been necessary. But there was no way he could tell her that. Even the simplest of explanations would lead to questions, more than he was ready to answer. Audrey, look. I will. I will explain. You deserve that. Just not now. I really have to go.

Why was he back? He left for too long to come back. It wasn’t fair.. to try and grow close to him and understand his reasoning behind it all, for she didn’t trust him to not leave again. It hurt, without a doubt, knowing that he could so easily pick up and leave without a word. But now he was back, and honestly, she had no idea what to do. Are you not going to explain it to me? Now he was being secretive. Sure, it wasn’t her place to know, but they were close enough to at least talk about some of it. She deserved that much… after leaving her with not a word. Look.. I won’t step boundaries.. but… you keep leaving me…

Lilah- he barely spoke her name before she was talking again, quickly and enthusiastically. Uh, yes. Sure. Definitely. His surprise quickly morphed into a hesitant smile. I was just going out for groceries- let me pick something up you like and we'll pick up where we left off?

Even though that’s not my favorite, I robbed my brother, ‘cause he’s not supposed to be drinking this when he barely stops at home. So, what do you say? To make it up the last time we were drinking and I had to bail?

Audrey was as beautiful as he remembered. But her words caught him off guard. How could he tell her what had happened? He wasn't entirely sure he had come to terms with it yet himself. He had returned true - against what should have been his better judgement - for he could not seem to have been able to keep himself away. But he could not expect her to wait. And yet... Out of town. I- Audrey was a popular girl; he knew that well and how was he to think that he was anything special to her among everyone who doted on her? Her voice displayed a hurt he had not expected. You didn't have to... I'm sorry.

Seeing him again caused her heart to drop. She hadn’t seen him in weeks since he last came back for a brief moment. Noah kept leaving her… and she was angered by it. So much had happened.. majorly, Audrey was now taken.. ending anything that was possible between the two. Where… have you been? I have waited for you…. you left me.

Noah had his back turned as he closed the door, but that voice was too familiar, too perfect. And it had come at completely the wrong time. Turning round, he did the best he could to smile despite the tension set in his chest. Seeing her face helped make it a little more genuine, at least. Audrey? I- uh... Audrey... it was so good to know Noah hadn't lost his charm.
