anyway just a reminder for the myth lovers out there
king arthur was welsh. merlin was welsh. camelot was in wales. the lady and the lake she pops out of; welsh. excalibur; magic inanimate welsh object. etc.
on the way to see family, i drive past a lake that in which is welsh legend, is the last resting place of excalibur.
i’m just saying in my experience a lot of these legends had been so anglo-fied in the past and it’s like, all this cool shit is celtic welsh legend.
#SCREAMS FROM THE MOUNTAINS#ARTHUR IS WEEEEEELSH#my ass in high school writing entire papers to talk about the WELSH context of Arthurian myth for my teachers to be like#Noble r u ok#No teachers I was not and I'm still not

Taskmaster is legitimately the best show ever like. Five comedians compete for zero money and minimal prestige, which means they're all there to have fun and cause chaos and you can tell that theyre all enjoying it. The two hosts have a weird psychosocial bdsm dynamic and they make it everyone's problem and they both actively consent to it and enjoy it. They have fancy chairs and a house on a golf course that get destroyed regularly. Everyone embarrasses themselves and has a great time doing it. The host whos the "sub" and regularly gets verbally and at times physically abused by every single person on the show organizes everything including a large portion of the abuse. They put every single episode for free on youtube along with lots of bonus content so that every single person can watch it. They have a ton of memes and references and Easter eggs hidden all around but it doesnt limit your enjoyment if you miss something. You find yourself rooting for a special little guy but its equally fun when your special little guy looses. You can pop it on in the background and tune in when you see something funny and laugh but it also makes great background noise. They even have a cow.
#I literally described Taskmaster as someone I can have fun if I pay attention to it or easily have it in the background and still enjoy#It's the perfect “just put the damn thing on” show#Always fun always makes me cackle

"shipping and blorbofication are not inherently at odds with understanding a story's deep themes" and "some people can't grasp the themes of a story because they never learned how to engage with stories outside of the lens of shipping and blorbofication" are two statements that can coexist

There should be a word for the microscopic spark of hope that you dare not entertain in case the mere act of acknowledging it will cause it to vanish, like trying to look at a photon.

Honestly, I love it when characters relapse. When someone who’s gotten over their anger issues falls into a situation so out of their depth they fall back on their old habits. When someone who’s learned to open up becomes a recluse again in order to cope with something outside their control.
There’s just something so horrible, so toxic, about watching a character grow and then slip back into their old selves in order to cope, bc you know they still care, that they’re the same inside, but watching them hurt so hard they don’t know what else to do brings a sense of catharsis.

I'm still hung up about the fact that His Theme plays for a couple seconds when Tenna mentions Asriel. It is my personal headcannon that Tenna knows all of the Dreemur songs and leitmotifs by heart because he's just lived with them for that long.
(song is "Home" vocal cover by Adrisaurus on youtube)
#I'm fucking bawling actually#I noticed that Tenna songs Asriel and Toriel's themes when he mentions them which is fucking adorable#But this little comic of the song basically being passed down through the family#Your mind OP
