To my understanding, show dogs and racehorses have the same kind of a "no two animals with the same exact name in the registry" rule, so they have to get creative with the official names.
And that's why pedigree show dogs have full legal names like Lotus Farms' Pilgrim's Light (answers to the name "Piggy"), and champion race horses have names like Cocaine Canoe Nutcracker Supreme (answers to no man nor god).

The thing about holding onto redundant stuff you don't strictly need is that, yeah, 90% of the time it's just taking up space, but sometimes that old usb wifi adapter that's been sitting in your closet for eight years will save you from continuing to tear what's left of your hair out.

People who perform manual labor should be not only given high and liveable wages, but unlimited access to healthcare and physical therapy to help manage the myriad conditions that come from doing back-breaking work.
Like this is not an absurd concept. It bothers me that people think that it is.

"sickness, self-portrait" 10x10 acrylic on canvas
about feeling defined by illness and disability, and that all I'll ever be is a sick person trying to masquerade as something more.

disability pride month should deadass have as much attention, celebration, and rioting as gay pride month. an estimated 19% of the world's population is disabled, which is twice as much as the estimated number of lgbtq+ people. i'm not making this comparison to disparage gay pride (i'm bi and trans myself), but to point out the numbers.
in the usa alone, around 30% or roughly 61 million people live with disabilities. think of how amazing it would be if disability pride month brought the kind of money donated to queer charities. imagine the awareness for so many different disabilities that could be!!
disability benefits around the world and especially lately here in america are getting worse and worse. it would nice to have at least a month to look forward to, a celebration rather than the commiseration that disability “pride” month feels like.
