Every time I think about how Outlast/Outlast Whistleblower ended I want to chew glass. Miles couldn't escape but Waylon could. It was too late for Miles but it was his car that Waylon drove away in. Waylon got there before Miles did but it was Miles who was doomed and Waylon who was freed. Miles got there in a car he never saw again but that car was Waylon's salvation. If you look out the window near the end of Outlast you can see Waylon getting into your car and leaving, you can see the fact that you saved him. In such a little tiny way did you save him, but you saved him. All you did was leave your car. It was supposed to be a story you were investigating and instead you saved someone's life. One man went in and one man came out but it wasn't the same man. You went there to tell his story but instead you saved him so he could tell it himself. It was just a car it was just a car it was just a car and it's how you saved his life.

here's my most correct take:

the cutesy part of woobification isn't even the problem, especially when everyone is aware of that and doing it anyway. I'd even dare to say it's awesome. why can't you draw your object of affection surrounded by heart eyes or whatever? is that not the nature of humanity?

however.......the erasure of all defining physical traits certainly is. in the process of seeking to make the character cuter, all of the interesting traits are sanded away into The Same Anime Boy, instead of finding the character's existing attributes cute.*

*physically, at least. emotionally people do that anyway sorry I don't have an answer to that one I'm just tired of same face art

The 18+ portion of the slasher fandom likes the base traits of their slashers. For example: masks, intimidation, theatrics, personality. In no way shape or form does anyone condone the sadistic behavior of these characters, they are in fact fictional and yes I will add that quite a lot of them are inspired by real serial killers. At the end of the day, they are not in fact—real serial killers.

It’s easier to avoid being crucified over fiction because it is just that, fictional fantasy. The same reason people like The Grabber is the same reason people like Michael Myers. Mask, intimidating, played by attractive actors and have limitless up-in-the-air lore they can play around with. Let’s not forget Myers committed a sexual crime against his own niece whether you consider it canon or not—he did in fact impregnate her. So, you must also find Myers simps to be incest/pedo enablers, correct?

My point exactly. Shut up. No one is writing these characters with minors or saying what they’ve done on screen, in script or are implied for the sake of story building to be forgivable whatsoever. Below is hinted proof, there’s too many Myers simps to remotely argue with me about The Grabber being excluded from the fandom. Most of you simp for sexual predators regardless such as Billy Lenz, Bo Sinclair, Bubba Sawyer (yes it’s implied he’s sexually assaulted women and had offspring) so this is a twisted form of cancel culture if I’ve ever seen over the fantasies of unhinged fictional characters. For decades people have complained about the glorification and toxicity of Joker and Harley Quinn but that’s not gonna stop anyone from romanticizing those characters. Call it what you want, just don’t be a hypocrite.
