Crazy Ex Girlfriend’s finale is Friday! Seeing representation of mental illness on TV has meant so much, especially songs like “A Diagnosis” & “Anti-Depressants Are So Not A Big Deal”. Thank you to Rachel Bloom, Aline Brosh Mckenna & everyone who made this show so special!!

Here’s the Valencia/Audra one shot that I’ve been wanting to write for forever and now that the two canonically live in New York I finally can.

This is set at some point after Audra realizes she’s a lesbian and after Beth and Valencia break up.

I love Beth, but frankly, to me it always seemed like they were bad for each other on the long run. Beth seemed to put no emotional effort into understanding Valencia’s insecurities or dealing with them in her language, and at some point it comes across like them having very different paths for what they want from a relationship. I never liked the idea that Beth could “fix” Valencia.

Also, I can’t believe this is my first time writing a lesbian pairing (other than mutual pining). Hope I did it right.

you can’t just care about Jews one week of the month and not the rest. like for example, just this month:

a swedish Jewish politician’s house was burned down in a suspected antisemitic attack

a group of teenagers, one wearing a Star of David, were robbed and beaten by three adult men in france

the headstones of a Jewish cemetery in greece were smashed

over the span of two days, two visibly Orthodox Jewish men were attacked in brooklyn

antisemitism never went away. it never stopped being violent. you cant only care about us only when its a top news story or trending on twitter.

To people mad about my post on Rebecca not being white

Ashkenazi Jews have not historically been considered white by eugenicists or segregationists. To Europeans they've always been considered displaced middle eastern populations no matter to what extent they assimilated. That's literally why there's an ongoing Jewish diaspora.

Ethnicity isn't just about skin color, Latinos can be extremely white passing (just look at Brazilian actress Marina Ruy Barbosa). It's about a historical access to privilege.

White-passing Jewish people have an easier time than non-white-passing ethnicities because they're PASSING, but they cannot fully access white privilege and there'll always be an element of "othering" when near white goyim.
