“Yeah of course! Don’t worry about dates. Dating is overrated anyway!” Noelle waved the idea away with her hand. “Oh, you bet I’ll be there for the food! I love food, especially little finger foods. Delicious!”
@missariyas
She nodded her head as she listened before smiling a bit. "Yeah you are right. I'd go without a date. I've gotten this far without hanging on someone's arm." She laughs a bit. "It really is. I might be drawn more to the food at the end of the day but I'm never against dressing up if given the chance." Reminded her of her days when she was still an actress. She always loved the events she got to attend and dress up at.

“And why on earth would I tell you no to something you love? As long as it’s not hurting you or others, do what makes you happy. I’ll always be your biggest fan.” Noelle smiled lovingly at her daughter. “I would never tell you to put your books in storage. I’ll built you a library before that!”
@lucydriscoll
"I love how you enable my obsessions." Lucy grins, before biting into her pastry. "Like. You don't tell me to get rid of my books, or put them into storage. You think bigger than that." It would probably be the same sage advice she'd give her own mother if she found the kitchen too small to work with.

It wasn’t out of the ordinary for Noelle to visit her neighbors with all kinds of treats, so when she showed up to Elias’ door with a basket of brownies, it was like any other day. Except these weren’t just any brownies.
“Hi there, neighbor!” She smiled at her friend. “I made us my special brownies.” Noelle gave him an exaggerated wink of her eye as she held up the basket. “Thought it could be fun to have some of these and maybe go for a swim!

I get to spend my day as follows:
I have coffee in the morning while I read my book, I make a delicious lunch I eat on my patio by the my garden, I crochet for a few hours, then I bake cinnamon rolls, and order takeout from my favorite restaurant to eat with my daughter while we watch a romantic comedy.

“Good choice.” Noelle told the woman before taking a sip of her wine. “Well obviously you don’t have to go with a date! You could do exactly what you did before and go with friends! But you’re right, the dresses, hair and makeup, food, dancing! It all seems like so much fun.”
@missariyas
"I did and I can say, I ended up ditching the guy I went with the spend time with friends instead." She almost laughed at the memory but stopped herself. "I mean, that's the fun part of it all. The dressing up and getting corsages definitely is the best part plus the food they have." She knew that's what she had looked forward to.
"I might. I don't have a date but it would be fun being there with everyone."

Noelle scoffed at the pure idiocy of men. Sometimes she remembered why it was a good thing she’d gotten divorced, not that Lucy’s father had a lot of fragile masculinity, it was more so that men are just… the way they are sometimes. “Oh my gosh! I’m so glad you got out of that one.” She laughed softly before taking a sip of her drink while listening to the woman speak.
“You should go if you want to! You don’t even have to have a date, you can totally go on your own! If I don’t find a date I’m going on my own. Or maybe with friends. Hell, we could go together!”
@catalinaxdiaz
"I did, actually. I remember I wanted this hot pink dress so badly, but my boyfriend at the time continued putting it down because he didn't want to wear a hot pink tie. I know I should've seen that as a red flag thinking about it now, but I eventually found a red dress I liked. Worst part of the whole night is that he threw up on my shoes." Catalina didn't have any real plans to go to the newest prom even the town was having, but that didn't mean her mind couldn't be changed.
"I don't necessarily have a date for this one, so maybe. Who knows, it could go better than the last one." @noellexdriscoll

Noelle frowned at Aylin’s reasoning but that quickly turned into a smile when she heard that she would be going now, and with someone who cared. “Good! I’m so glad. Have you found a dress yet? I’m still looking but I feel it should be on theme, right? Or is that a bit lame?”
@aylinxc-s
Aylin lifts her wine glass to her lips, listening as Noelle relayed the reasoning as to why she didn't attend her own prom. It must've been tough, growing up so quickly. Raising a child while still basically being a child herself. Aylin keeps her assessment to herself, although it's likely written all across her face.
"I didn't go either," she relays, a twinge of embarrassment rising up inside her. "No one asked me. I was a bit of a loser in high school." It was hard not to still feel like a loser now, some scars never truly faded.
Clearing her throat, Aylin's gaze dropped to the table as she gave a small nod. "Yeah, I'll be there." The words feel like a betrayal somehow. "Kodi made a big song and dance about us going."

Noelle gasped when she heard what awful thing happened, and she frowned as he continued to speak. “That’s so awful. Well you deserve better than them!” She emphasized her seriousness with a nod. “You’re right! That’s why I think it’ll be so much fun. I just need a dress.”
@ezraxlawrence
"You should do it," he encouraged with a wide grin. Ezra had been to more than enough prom-like events in LA, including his own prom, so he really didn't feel he was missing out on much. "I did go to my prom, it kinda sucked. The girl I liked ended up making out with my best friend. Some friend he was." He shrugged his shoulders. "But this one isn't a bunch of moody teenagers in a room together, so it's bound to be good, right?" @noellexdriscoll

“Ah. Right, you’re not aware of the horror story that was her first maternity leave. Temporary baker nearly put me out of business!” It was a slight exaggeration but it was just how serious the situation was in Noelle’s eyes. “I mean, there was but she moved ages ago and Liza’s been the baker since she was old enough to have a job like this. I don’t trust temporary bakers anymore, and that’s probably an issue I’ll have to get over one day, but if I can help it I will not be hiring them.”
“That’s wonderful! I’m so glad, I don’t actually know what it’s like to be new in town but I can’t imagine it’s easy. But good, that’s so great! Do you have any favorite places to go in town so far?”
@camryn-hendricks
"Why didn't you put out a job listing for a temporary position?"
Stress on the 'temporary' part of it. Camryn frowns, she can only imagine how Noelle's workload has increased with Liza on leave. "Her having the baby definitely wasn't a surprise, and now you're stressing yourself out. Do you have any past workers you could call in to help under the table?"
It's not ethical, but it'll alleviate some stress.
"Everything's fine on my end, and I really have found my stride with my job. I made a few friends, too, and I have been socializing more. Getting myself out there, it's been really nice."

💙 = Does your muse prefer a night out or a night in?
I'm much more of a night in person. Sometimes I end the day with relaxing music while I sit in a bubble bath with a glass of wine, other times I watch a fun show while I crochet and I have a glass of wine. Wine is always involved.

Noelle nodded in understanding. She knew it must be hard to be new in a town where everyone seemingly already knew one another.
“Well you’d know me.” She smiled and gave a little shrug of her shoulders. “Well if you don’t go, do you have any fun plans for Monday night then?”
@gabby-anderson
"Ah, like half of it?" Gabby hadn't been super popular in high school or anything, and she didn't end up with a date, so just hung out with a couple of friends and drank bad punch until she'd been seen enough times to get away with going home. "I hadn't really thought about it. I don't know anyone well enough to go with them..." Even just as friends. So it might be even sadder than her first prom. Gabby couldn't say she was overly excited for that experience. @noellexdriscoll

“Private schools sound intimidating.” Noelle grimaced at the thought. She imagined herself in a school uniform and she had to shake her head to get it out. The thought of school made her think It was funny to think how different her life turned out to be. She wanted to become a kindergarten teacher and she always imagined herself have a colorful class room with fun outfits and earrings themed to holidays or school in general. She believed she was so much happier now than she would’ve been if she went down that path. Although, she wouldn’t deny that she was a bit lonely and wished that she and her ex-husband could’ve worked things out. She still felt guilty for basically neglecting their marriage.
“Guilting you? You have to be guilted into it? Meanwhile I’m going whether i have a date or I have to go alone!” Noelle laughed. “Who is this friend and why are they guilting you into to?”
@themeixhuang
"I didn't. My school was a very small, private school in London. I went to a formal of sorts, once, but.." Mei shrugged, giving her friend a little smile over the rim of her wine glass. She couldn't imagine how difficult it would've been though, being pregnant so young. At least Noelle had a strong support system behind her. "I am. yes. I was admittedly guilted into it though, by one of my best friends making my daughter his accomplice to get me to cave and agree."

“That’s the best compliment I’ve ever received!” Noelle laughed, her heart so full with how wonderful her life had turned out. It wasn’t an easy one but it had become something so incredible. “I’m so glad you like it. The thought popped into my head and I had to make it. It just seemed too perfect not to do!”
“We should really get you a bigger space so you can have even more!”
@lucydriscoll
"It's like you stepped out of some cottage-core Pinterest board. Except you're real." It was no surprise of who Lucy turned out to be, born to a woman like Noelle. A woman who walked so softly on this earth, Lucy didn't know a kinder human in this life.
As she departs the room, the blonde perches herself up on a kitchen stool, rhythmically tapping her nails on the counter as she waited for the older woman to return into the room. "Mum, that's so cute!" Eye's widening, she gently takes the scarf and wraps it around her neck, "It matches my necklaces. Thank you!"
"I think a better question would be where I don't store them. I actually gave up a small closet in the kitchen because I was running out of space."
