- “we need to open these shades” you nod “otherwise…they come. we don’t want that do we?”

- she brings you your food. just what you wanted. you look over and see there are no chefs

- you tip well. you must keep her appeased

- an amber alert alarms your phone. the child has your name. your face.

- you don’t remember ordering, you don’t remember coming here

you remember this waitress.

A slumbering, heavy furred Sphinx laid dormant in his otherwise vacant temple; save for the thousands of pictures, scattered among other physical remnants of memorabilia that he laid upon. A small grunt slipped from his nose, and he looked up through one narrowed eye, his giant head turning slightly to study the humanoid before him.

She was small. Much smaller than he. Of course, he was an abnormally large creature. Maroon tapestries laced with cream trim rustled on his back as he brought one large paw to his chin, long claws tapping sleepily against his cheek before he murmured,

“You have awakened Aandenking. What is your purpose here, little one? Have you lost a memory you wish to regain?”
