Life could be changing forever.

On Monday the 27th of February I spent most of the night in hospital after hurting my foot playing basketball. After what seemed like eternity the doctors told me the outcome. A Lisfranc fracture, basically the worst fracture possible. I surgery on Friday the 10th of March. They'll be inserting pins and plates to hold everything together while they heal. After surgery I will be unable to walk for approximately 3 months, which means no work or really anything. I will go back for check ups and after the 3 months go back for another surgery to remove the pins. As long as that all goes well I will be able to start rehab. But here's where life may change. Lisfranc fractures are terrible, the absolute worst. There is a chance that I played my last game of basketball last week. There's a chance that I will never be healthy enough to be a firefighter or even just run properly. All I've wanted for the last couple years is to become a firefighter and there's a chance that it will be impossible after this surgery. I finally found something I was passionate about and I don't know how I'll cope if that is taken away from me. Here's to hoping everything works out.
