We could be far from each other, with the same heart, as one, dreaming the same dream. Even if a very long time passes, even if you and I become a bit different, I want to dream forever with you like this.

Do you still listen to kpop?
Define "still listen to kpop". I listen to a lot of songs by Korean artists - including ofcourse a lot of SNSD songs - but I can't say I've listened to many Korean songs released in the last 12 months.

If SNSD had more "fair" line distributions, like for example in legendary "The Bangles", SNSD would have lasted longer.

No, probably not.
Well, I just logged in, but tumblr seems to have changed everything around and I don't know why I've logged in

So what do u think about the album/cb? Did you watch their smtown performance or the fanmeeting? Not to be a hater but I feel like atp snsd will never have a hit song like they had in their prime so idk why they even bother putting out new music. I prefer their focus to be strictly on solo careers now, I really don't see value in this lame fan pandering...
I have so many mixed feelings/thoughts which kinda is why I haven't really commented for 4 months...
But also because I was on a trip abroad during release and was incredibly busy afterwards... Like I literally didn't have an opportunity to listen to the title track until 4 days after release, and probably watched the first performance video 2-3 weeks after release.
Considering how I've spent 5 years saying I hope they'll release a real album and not some stupid shit anniversary album you can imagine how I felt about a 15 th anniversary album...
Considering how I've always had a quote from the lyrics from 'Forever' on the top of this page, you can imagine how I felt about the 15th anniversary album also being a play on the song 'Forever'...
But despite being so set up to be mad and disappointed, I kinda still liked it.
Same kinda goes with performances... Like, I'm pretty sure I've literally written here before that I've no idea why they'd release a new album without touring... There's no tour.... But yea, I kinda still liked to see them live on SMTOWN, which they at least took seriously and obviously members had a bit of feelings of performing as well.

hmmm so are exo's contracts longer than 10 years? 2022 is coming to an end and there is no news about the renewals 😑
Not followed things at all, but the obvious standard answer would be that all contracts are on hold during their military service.

Which korean music award show is the most sensible? I know they're all rigged to some extent but which one is at least trying to pretend to make sense?
None. MNET's show has of course always been about TV, and making all the big labels reasonably happy.
But I gave up on the others in 2011:
That SNSD won the digital award at the 'Golden Disc Award' in 2011 was a complete joke. The 'Golden Disc Award' had always been the one most 'fact based', but they always struggled with music going digital, and them handing the digital prize for 2011 to SNSD was embarrassing.
Likewise, it was the complete opposite joke that SNSD didn't win the 'Seoul Music Awards' In 2011. That award literally has just one 'grand price' going to the artist of the year, and to think that anyone other than SNSD would deserve that price in 2011 is mental

Hybe has the best marketing amongst the big 4?
That's not really possible to answer:
Media, and even more so people overall and social media, will always root for the 'underdog', even when the portrayed underdog isn't actually an underdog.

Min Hee-jin, thought.
No, none really.
All dumb "SM-stans" hated her. Personally I loved some things and hated some things from SM. Can't say things have gotten better or worse without her.
Had to google some "New Jeans" videos and I'm not sure how they would have gotten any recognition if they weren't from Big Hit.

Seulgi has a pretty big female fanbase tho? Bigger than Wendy's at least, and people seem to prefer her voice cuz it's more unique. Idk maybe I'm delusional but I can see her do taemin-lite and be just as successful
Not sure how any of these are good examples?
(and I'm very sure that I very heavily opinioned early in Red Velvet's launch that Wendy's voice was far too non-unique and that Seulgi was much more interesting)
Now I'm obviously very aware that financial success as an artists isn't necessarily the same as mainstream recognition: I absolutely love Rammstein - an act with very little mainstream coverage that is able to fill stadiums that top pop acts only dream of doing... But for a female act in Asia, that seems pretty much impossible for the foreseeable future.

No, I generally can't stand to watch any of these TV shows about nothing.

why isn't seulgi debuting solo? she has the biggest potential to hit big out of all the rv members. it's annoying how little promo she gets from sm
But for some reason she just doesn't have that appeal to be super popular.
Don't ask me, I think she's great. Singing, dancing, looks, charms, personality. But somehow she doesn't seem to attract people enough.
(that said she'll probably get some solo eventually, but so did Luna and Hyoyeon...)

How much did you lose on luna?
None. It's always been my opinion that all crypto currencies should be worth 0.
(not saying that it's impossible that the entire world eventually starts to use some crypto currency, I just don't see how it would be any of the existing ones)

Yuri actually looks the best right now
Fair enough, yes Yuri actually looks good nowadays when she's at some kind of OK weight (neither fat like she was for some time, neither severely underweight which she also was for some time). Hopefully she's also mentally better.

Can aespa become the next nation's girl group like SNSD?
No, of course not. They're trying to be way too edgy for that (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
SNSD's status is because how universally liked they were in the entire Korean population (which you can see for example by how they topped the Gallup surveys in all age groups, even among those oldest people who usually only like trot singers).

Why albums sales increase so much? Did kpop fans get more retard?
Errr, mostly because of international fans.
I mean, the way Japanese men buy CDs to get tickets to meet their imagined girl friends is one level of stupid, but the way international kpop fans feel obliged to buy CDs to 'support' their faves is just mind boggling.
That said, I'm also quite sure the purchasing power of Korean teens have increased a lot... I mean, when I was a kid, a plain CD with absolutely nothing extra would cost $20USD. Today a CD is $10 USD and people have twice as much nominal money to spend, meaning they can buy 4 times as many CDs for the same real cost.

snsd are only in their early thirties but except seo & maybe yoona they all look so... 😕... it's a taboo thing to say as a fan but their plastic surgeries aged them so badly it's upsetting to see
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's not as if I ever said anyone other than Yoona and Seo (and Jessica) actually looked good.
(and I'm quite sure ppl were mad as f when I ranted about Yuri's weight)

Is singing well actually important for a group success?
Lol of course not.
(well unless they actually have songs that depends on vocals, which very few do)
