Love fills my heart these days, and the shadows fill my mind. There's so much to talk about, but there are only few things I'm willing to share on here. ----- "Make a promise, please. You’ll always be in reach just in case I need you there when I...

Week One: Routine
I’m trying to find a routine in my life that is beneficial to my spiritual, physical, emotional and mental health. Rigidity is not welcome and leniency is a friend. My hope is to nurture an overall sense of balance and to break beyond the limitations of my being. To gain willpower and energy back.
This month, my short term goals are based around reading His Word, practicing yoga and spinning at the gym. I’m not chasing a weight and I’m not clawing for memorization. I’m just wanting my heart to surrender to the boundless grace that comes from God. To be honest, I’ve gone to church since I was four years years old and have never read the Bible all the way through. So it’s about time that I give the Word a go.
Ever since my ninth grade self discovered yoga, it’s been on my mind but I have not dedicated myself to practice it with consistency. Same with spinning. I’m not much of a runner, but I’ve always found biking to be uplifting. Cycling outside on a trail, reading books while biking at the gym and sharing memorable times with my family. With God as my guide through his journey, I’m curious where I’ll end up! Whatever the direction, I’m excited for these passions He has laid on my heart with such fervency once more. God is good!
Practical goals for the remainder of March:
Read: Finish Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
Yoga: Physically practice 2-3 days a week.
Spinning: Bike 60 miles (20 miles a week) at the local gym

Marriage.
I imagine a beautiful, movie-esque woman resting in bed. Her husband comes home and he gently caresses her cheek to push the fallen hairs out of her eyes. She wakes up sweetly and gives a tired grin. He sees her happiness and returns the smile. His hand now in her hair. He’s happy to see her and she’s favorably peaceful.
Crazy shows profoundly, though. I never know what response I will have in the middle of the night when he comes home from a band gig. After an evening of longing for him and his touch, the moment my eyes awake from a few hour slumber...my mind jolts awake. In the past, I’ve responded similar to the fantasy wife, but I’ve also had moments of ignoring him, anger, deep sadness or even reluctancy. Our marriage is now but a month old, but we’ve been living as if we’ve been married for nearly two years. He has held my heart with earnesty and he has protected our love with sincerity and kindness. Our days have been filled with randomness and he is just as surprising as the day we met.
So while we may not be the fantasy husband and wife, we are our version of wonder. A dream we both thought would never come to be. A fulfilling tale of sacrifice, excitement and togetherness. Here’s to me responding calmly and sweetly tonight as he returns home!
