the differences between men's and womens clothes are so upsetting but i especially hate its effect on swimwear. there is nothing more uncomfortable to me than wearing bathing suits at the beach and pretending i don't notice creepy old guys staring so that i can have a good time. when i told my mom i wanted to wear swim shorts instead, she asked me why i wanted to look like a boy. but you know what really sucks? covering up more isn't even a boy thing: guys objectively wear less to the beach, just trunks or speedos, it's just not as "scandalous" or "sexy" when they do it because only the female body is sexualized 24/7. so annoying. even though not every country disallows women from going to the beach shirtless, in my opinion, no matter where i go, it's either a spectacle for men or taboo.

😐 people who have children are incredibly selfish. and the guy, presumably, saying 'why she suddenly wanted kids' shouldn't even be asking that b/c the subtext there is that women who perform reproductive labor for one man but not another are 'selfish' or unreasonable (or gatekeepers!).
