I think if you like Homestuck you should read the webcomic Bob and George. There's so much homestuck did in an ironic or self aware way that b&g just did in earnest

I'm partway through watching re:creators because of all the talk about it in the godfeels server. It is indeed a little bit homestucky. Slightly more directly like the neverending story imo. Anyways it doesn't seem like this is going to happen but if the fact that the "real world" of the anime isn't strictly speaking the real real world becomes an explicit plot point or even alluded to I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm still slogging away in the dirkjake mines btw. I think I've been working on this fic for over a year. The main thing slowing me down is Jake's voice doesn't come naturally to me the way Dirk's does. I'm also really jumping around wildly in the timeline so I can't release it serially unfortunately. I have bits and pieces of every chapter, maybe 15% of chapter 1 and between 5% and 30% of each other chapter. The perils of writing with ADHD. If you're in the godfeels server you may have seen me talking a long time ago about a scott pilgrim dirkjake fic. That's this one. I'm getting kind of insane about it I think
