Simple Healing Spell
Tumblr media
Outcome: To send healing energy to yourself or a loved one
Requirements: Just your lovely self and perhaps some peace and quiet to concentrate
Method: Settle yourself into a comfortable position, whether this is laying down or sitting in your favourite chair. Just somewhere that brings you some peace.  Once settled, imagine a light which surrounds your feet. Think of what your feet do for you. They have taken every step with you throughout your time here. They have grown hard from work. They perhaps ache from old pains, hard work, injury or illness. Take a moment to remember what they have done for you and the journey you have been on together, positive or not. Once complete, allow the light to envelop your feet.
Move up to your ankles. Think about how they help you. They give you motion and balance when moving. Maybe they’ve had hurt too. Perhaps you’ve sprained it or twisted them. Hold on to that memory of healing, even if it was not total. Allow the light to now encompass your ankles.
Continue in this way, moving over as many or as few body parts as you wish and take a moment to think of their purpose, how they have served you, how they have healed and how you will continue to use them. The light can travel with your thoughts.
Do not shy away from body parts which have caused you pain. These are the most important - whether it is physical or mental pain, these are body parts which you have had a rocky journey with. But you are healing.
Once this healing light has hugged your entire body, imagine it rising above you and forming into a ball of pure, kind energy.
If the healing spell is for yourself, allow this energy to float gentle as feather back into your being.
If the healing spell is for another, allow this energy to journey to those who need it most.

This is the spread I used to interview my new deck. I based it off some other writings I’ve seen, so it isn’t the most original, but hopefully still useful. I hope you find it helpful when trying to understand more about a deck’s personality!
1. What’s your main characteristic? This is what is fundamental about your deck, what will always be true about it.
2. What element do you align with? Different decks align with different elements. It breaks down something like this: Major Arcana = spirit (good at spiritual matters and introspection) Wands = fire (potentially “sassy”, good at matters of passion) Swords = air (detached, intellectual, and introspective) Cups = water (good at matters of the heart and being kind) Pentacles/Coins = earth (grounded, contemplative, good at real life stuff) Furthermore, the card you draw might also hint at a characteristic. For ex., the eight of wands would show that your deck is good at future-telling, especially of what your dreams and passions will be
3. How do you see yourself? This is really a personality question. It is less “honest” than the first position, because it is more subjective.
4. How do you see me? This is how the deck currently views you. That is subject to change.
5. How do you view life? This way you can tell if your deck is optimistic, pessimistic, or realistic.
6. What can you teach me? The lessons your deck has to give.
7. What do you find easy? The sorts of questions your deck excels at.
8. What do you struggle with? The sorts of questions your deck finds more difficult to answer.
9. What do I need to know? This could be general, or it could be what you need to know about the deck.
10. What do you want from me? What the deck wants out of your relationship.
11. How can I improve our relationship? What you can do to bond more with your deck.
12. Outcome of our relationship Not so much a fixed outcome as a mutable one, one that shifts with how you approach the deck and use it.

10 WORLDS: What World Are You In?
Pursuing happiness requires a deeper understanding about your life tendencies, says The Ten Worlds coauthor Ash ElDifrawi. In their book, he and Lickerman identify 10 core beliefs about happiness. While you can move in and out of the beliefs, most of us gravitate toward one of them as being our truth, and we live in that “world.” Nine are delusions, while one is the true source of happiness. See if you recognize yourself.
Hell: The world of suffering. When trapped here we feel hopeless and helpless. The delusion in this world is that we’re powerless to end the suffering. Hunger: The world of desire. People who live in this world are restless and have persistent yearning. The delusion in this world is that you have to get what you want to be happy. Animality: The world of instinct. This world revolves around the present moment and satisfaction of our physical needs. The delusion is that happiness and pleasure are the same. Anger: The world of ego. In this world, we are driven by a need to always be viewed in a positive light, which often causes us to feel contemptuous and jealous of others. The delusion in this world is that happiness comes from being better than everyone else. Tranquility: The world of serenity. People who live in this world find comfort in the status quo, and shun variety and trying new things. The delusion is that to be happy we must avoid pain. Rapture: The world of joy. This world feels exhilarating and full, but it’s hedonistic. The delusion is that happiness is dependent on specific attachments, such as money or things. Learning: The world of mastery. In this world, you feel a relentless drive to learn and accomplish something that creates value and meaning. The delusion comes when you think happiness comes only through accomplishment. Realization: The world of self-improvement. Here, you’re obsessed with self-examination and personal growth, but it can lead to self-absorption. The delusion is that you think you need to grow to be happy. Compassion: The world of love. In this world, fulfillment comes from caring as much about the happiness of others as we do our own. While this sounds good, the delusion is that you believe in order to be happy, you must help others become happy, and that can foster resentment. Enlightenment: The world of awe. The 10th world is the true path to happiness. We remain in a continual state of wonder at the sublime order and beauty of the universe.
