while we’re on the subject of elder scrolls factions i feel like the skyrim thieves guild is way closer to being shadowrunners than actual thieves. most of the major jobs you do are on the behalf of businesspeople and their companies. maven black-briar basically owns the guild. you aren’t thieving for the sake of thieving or to benefit the poor and downtrodden… you’re a corporate crony… a shadowrunner

i don’t understand why this is controversial in aldmereth, but i really dislike akatosh– he’s an amazing anuic, in fact i’d say he stands respectively beside jyggalag as one of the most evil and threatening figures in aurbic history. but i have trouble understanding how so many people see him as a “king” or a “chief of the pantheon”?

yeah, thank you akatosh for showing me true empowerment: creating nirn behind trinimac’s back with his best friend, literally having lorkhan murdered and being the only one not to show any remorse whatsoever for it, threatening to harm and force loyalty onto those who simply say they don’t resent convention, abandoning a good friend who you also were “emotionally” and sexually with all because he wanted to stay on nirn, and willing to establish a tyrannical tamrielic empire on innocents if only to shift the blame to another for everything going wrong and to draw out your reincarnated ex-lover just so you can kill him again.

i know often times people try to say “he’s being driven insane by losing divinity in the mundus’ creation, it had twisted and morphed him, he can’t be held responsible” but excuse me, the same thing happened with jyggalag and NOBODY questions him as a villain and that he needed to be put down. his original drive was to return the aurbis to pure stasis; to make it so they would never be threatened by complex ambiguity again. but he made a very poor decision, tried to annihilate creation via perfect order, and payed the price for it. why does akatosh get a free pass? because y’all be a bunch of simps or thirsty cyrods? darlings, you can do better– you DESERVE better.

i’d rather look for inspiration from true divine icons like boethiah, mephala or azura, who yeah aren’t aedra, but maybe you should be reminded that you aren’t an aedra either. you can’t return to the dawn-age divinity that was stolen from you, but you can take a cue from these women, who saw how to make the best of the worst situations, and came out strong, regardless of what they had lost.
