I am the ever changing man that I am but my devotion to Dionysus has stayed firm. I mainly repost things but I will throw in original content when you least expect it. This is my devotional blog and I am a Hellenic Polytheist who is devoted to and bound to Dionysus. My devotion extends to Pan and Selene. And I honor many other gods, including, but not limited to Hermes, Hecate, Persephone, Hades, Hestia. I am open to questions, and discussion. Open content warning of a sexual and hedonistic nature.

Just a very quick drawing but I literally could not function today if I didn´t draw Dionysus carrying Dennis from Netflix´s new show Kaos

I don’t think you’re ready to have an adult conversation about politics until you’re able to admit that there are things you love and enjoy that would not and should not exist in a just world. $8 billion dollar budget movies every other month don’t exist in a just world. New 900 GB AAA video games every year don’t exist in a just world. Next day delivery doesn’t exist in a just world. 80 different soda brands don’t exist in a just world.
All of those things come from exploitation on some level, and if you wouldn’t trade those for a world where everyone can eat and have a home no matter who they are or what they do, I don’t know what to tell you.

it’s really scary how unaware the average person is of the climate crisis. and that’s not their fault, it’s very deliberate

I need all of this.
Shoutout to that era in the 90s when Dionysus temporality possessed home renovators and grape themed kitchens were a thing.

My future kitchen tbh I had one like this as a kid living on a vineyard.

Dionysus was there when those two boys got too drunk at the party and sloppily kissed in the alley. What are they doing? What does it mean? What are they to each other? It doesn’t matter.
Dionysus was there when the girl who was sick of her hair went mad in the bathroom and buzzed it all off. In that moment, she was flying, and she truly felt free.
Dionysus was there when the girl was standing in front of the mirror, about to take a shower, putting lipstick on her eyebrows and eyeshadow on her cheeks, looking wild and partaking in the gentle joy of painting her face, knowing that before she is seen again, she can wash it all down the drain.
Dionysus was there the first time the 30 something man tried on a dress. As he poured himself a glass of wine and posed in the mirror. How elegant he was in the cramped confines of that dingy motel. For tonight, he can be his effeminate self, knowing that this secret is all his to indulge in.
Dionysus was there when the girls got together, removed their tight bras and danced in freedom as they burped and screamed and cried and howled. These women are insane! How mad they become when they’re free from the burden of society! They were laying on the floor with their stomachs out, breasts sagging, hair disheveled, saying crude words that women must not say. For a moment they were no longer trapped in suburbia. They were in the wild woods, far away from any rule or law. They were free! Free and mad!
Dionysus was there, and no matter how hard they try to deny it, he will always be.

As they said in the tags, this obviously does not apply to the mysteries and certain rites.
Friendly reminder that you don't need to be on any “level” of witchcraft to worship the Hellenic gods because
1. Being a polytheist or a pagan doesn't equal being a witch.
2. These deities were worshipped by literal children back then as there was no fear of them being harmed.
If someone is telling you “this deity is for beginners/advanced practitioners/whatever” then they're either misinformed or they're purposefully trying to seem spiritually above you so you consider them as some sort of spiritual guide.

I want to add to this list so bad. Let me do some thinking
wines for some theoi
feel free to send asks for theoi not listed! and of course, this is my personal opinion from my wine knowledge.
A fun wine for any theoi of importance are blends from Rapsani, which is located on Mt. Olympus.
Aphrodite: commandaria, which is made from the mavro and xynsteri grapes. Along with Moschofilero, for its striking, romantic, and rose-garden aromatics.
Apollon: for those who see him as a sun god, straw wines, and for plague Apollon, Botrytis wines such as Tokaji. For a more Gaulish Apollon, Vins de paille. The cretan wine Dafni could also work for being named after Daphne
Ares: sparkling reds, such as Lambrusco for their striking nature in carbonation and red hue.
Artemis: natural wines, those made with the yeast upon the grape skins, or traditional orange wines for the "wild" aspect of them.
Ariadne: traditional Cretan wines, such as Shiraz, Vidiano, Vilana, Thrapsathiri, Malvasia, etc.
Dionysus: all wines, but Retsina in particular.
Eros: romantic reds in general, I do not have a particular wine for him.
Helios: some ancient authors said one should not offer wine as he shouldn't be drinking on the job, but who listens to that? Straw wines and Sicilian wines match his nature as a sun god, though mead also holds a special place in my heart for him.
Hephaestus: Sicilian wines, for their volcanic nature, especially those around Mt. Etna such as Nerello Mascalese
Hera: aromatic reds and roses, such as muscat d'asti, and for Hera of Samos, Samos Vin Doux
Herakles: Agiorgitiko, for its home in Nemea, where he bested the Nemean Lion.
Hestia: table wines such as Chianti and Prosecco, though I have always found her in orange wine due to orange wine being a common style of the ancient world. Agiorgitiko is the most popular Greek wine, and as such I also see it with her in her ability to unite the hearth.
Hermes: wines from central Greece, but I would also argue Greek Chardonnay and Syrah for their international travel to Greece.
Pan: Savatiano, for its origin in Central Greece
Zeus: as Hestios and a household god, table wines, and very light wines, such as vignoles. Pyment could also be lovely for his love of bees.

Pagans need community!
And I don’t mean the stuff we do on Tumblr or in Discord servers of whatever. I mean real life, face-to-face, communal practices that can be done in public. This is the only way we can get stuff like state recognition and temples to pray in.
Community is how the Abrahamics stay alive, community is what brought Wicca and neopaganism to the light, community is what we need. In the olden days the gods would be worshipped by whole states, cities, villages and households, but today it seems that we mainly have household worship, making ourselves content with the individualistic and private (hence relatively hidden) nature of our respective practices. But this won’t further any hope we may hold of getting back the temples and stuff.
Find other pagans in your area, form group chats, meet up and discuss, do rituals together, found and grow your community together. Pagans are closer than you think, and we are here when you least expect it. You just need to ask the gods to help you find them, or to help them find you, and they will steer you towards the right path. Ask and you shall receive.
Community starts with us. May the gods be with you
[P.S: I’m only speaking about what I’ve observed within Hellenic and Kemetic pagan spaces. I don’t know about other traditions but I think it’s a pretty universal message for those of us who yearn for temples and a blooming pagan community.]
