With the whole "ChatGPT rots your brain" thing, intelligence, like athleticism, artistic ability, or socializing, is just effort and focus. So it feels kinda obvious that the tool designed to uncritically hallucinate lies & automate the "base load" thinking like actually writing sentences, drafting code, etc will cause those skills to atrophy.

Intelligence is not some special skill out of the ether, it isn't inherited, but the crystallization of hard work at studying, drafting, reasoning. Just like running a 10K there's no real shortcuts
