We just concluded the @normalaboutbcs rewatch party, and this scene really stunned me on second watch. Kim has spent the last six years living in a self-made purgatory as a passive housewife, so thoroughly that she speaks in an affected high-pitched voice — but the second she allows herself to peek into the legal world again, simply by volunteering to take phone calls, her voice instantly drops to the tone she used in court, as she stands up straight, determined, rejuvenated.

It's such a triumphant shot, right in the middle of the melancholy finale of the show. I like to imagine that Kim achieves some measure of genuine atonement in helping this beleaguered firm help women.
