Hi, I'm a pharmacy student in NEU. I wonder if there's any pharmacy club on campus and how to get deeply involved on campus like you.
Hey anon,
There are many pharmacy clubs on campus that you can get involved in. If you receive Pharmacy Student Governing Organization (PSGO) emails, you would be able to see when the different organization meetings are taking place. If not, you can follow the Northeastern Pharmacy Student Governing Organization Page to see the updates there as well. I know for just this week alone there are a lot of meetings. For Wednesday September 12th (tomorrow), ACCP is having the first chapter meeting from 6-7 PM in 107 Robinson. On Wednesday September 12th (tomorrow), there is also a SNPhA general meeting from 7-8 PM in West Village G Room 106. Just always drop by meetings and get a feel for the organization and get involved if it matches your interests! Hope that helps. :)

Hi, I am a Canadian student applying to Northeastern school of pharmacy after finishing my undergraduate degree here. Do you happen to know anyone who has come from Canada and how hard it is to get accepted as a canadian?
Hello anon,
I have friends in the pharmacy program that came from Canada so I do not think adjusting will be a problem. I do not know the breakdown of the acceptance for international students, but I do believe it is a holistic review of the application so this should not be a problem. Check out the website below for more information on the PharmCas. Good luck!

RISE 2018!
Tumblr media
At Northeastern, one of the experiential learning experiences a student can participate in is completing a capstone and presenting it at RISE (Research, Innovation, Scholarship Expo). I went out to support fellow pharmacy upperclassmen and am excited to start my own capstone starting from the summer!

Hi Christina! I'm a senior in high school also from Fullerton who got accepted into the pharmacy program! I'm debating whether to attend UCLA or NU and one of my main concerns is lifestyle/fit. Was it difficult for you to adjust from living on the West coast to the East?
Hello!
I am sorry the reply is coming so late. First off, congratulations! For me, I would highly recommend that you come on a campus tour to see what the Boston vibe is like. Hearing and seeing from pictures is very different from coming here in person to take everything in. I definitely struggled in terms of getting used to the weather. Weather here in Boston is very unpredictable. Just for example, this Monday, we had snow. Then on Tuesday it was bright and warm and then suddenly in the afternoon, it was raining. On the bright side, you would get to experience all four seasons which is something you do not get back in California. If you have any other follow-up questions or you are planning to come visit in person, please feel free to message me so I can potentially meet up in person. Best of luck to you!

Hello! I am a junior in high school and have started looking at colleges, more specifically ones with pharmacy majors/schools. Northeastern is very appealing to me, but I'd like to check out a few more schools as well. What other schools did you apply to in addition to Northeastern, and for what major? Thank you!
I applied to many different colleges but since it seems you are interested in the pharmacy pathway, I will answer specifically to that. I applied to five early assurance pharmacy programs that I considered based on location and curriculum. I received acceptances from all five but ultimately ended up choosing the pharmacy program here at Northeastern University! There was an earlier post about why I chose Northeastern University if you are interested in reading about that. :) Good luck in the college finding process~

Hi, I am currently a sophomore in high school interested in attending Northeastern. What kind of things should I be doing now that will help me in the future. What activities, classes, and grades did you get when you were in high school? Thank you :)
Hello!! :) It is great to see that you are interested in Northeastern University so early on in high school. During high school, I took a mix of AP and IB classes that challenged me so I felt much more prepared when I came to college. I also took a good amount of electives that I liked such as choir, journalism and then later was on the newspaper staff of my high school. I think I spent a good amount of time doing extracurricular activities instead of just focusing on academics. Since you still have a few more years before applying, I would suggest to challenge yourself academically with a good course workload and also join electives that you are interested in. I hope you make the best of your years in high school and when it comes to application season, you will be on our campus for tours! :)

Do you think that doing IB will benefit me. Should I just stick to AP classes??
Hey anon,
I think that is a preference question that I cannot say what will benefit you or not. If you feel AP classes are challenging enough and take up a lot of your time, I would stick to taking AP classes. If you can juggle doing both AP and IB, then I would say go for it. Ultimately, it comes down to what you feel is the right “fit” for you in terms of classes and their rigor. For reference, I did do both AP and IB classes. I found that the coursework challenged me enough so that when I came to college, I found that it was a relatively smooth transition to college coursework.

Where is your coop post? I’ve been looking for this post since the summer!!!
Hello anon!!!
I am actually on my third and last co-op at CVS Pharmacy. It has been a blur since the start of co-op and now things are finally starting to wind down as it is coming to an end this month. I will definitely do a co-op post about this last one and how it went overall. Thank you for the support and I am glad to see that you have been following my blog! ;)

What average SAT and ACT scores will I need for acceptance
Hello!
I did an earlier post below about this question. I feel like this is a common concern for those in high school before applying to college. To reiterate, there is no score that will automatically ensure acceptance. I know that can sound like a very vague answer but Northeastern’s admission process is holistic so anything on your common application counts. If you are still in the process of taking the SAT or ACT, I wish you the best of luck!

Hi Chunnie...I was just wondering what range of SAT and ACT scores do you think I’d need to get accepted
Hey anon!
I think you were the first question on my blog to refer to me as Chunnie (hehehe). There really is no range of SAT and ACT scores that will automatically ensure you get in since Northeastern views the applications on a holistic process. This means pretty much everything you put on your common application will all play a factor in the admissions process. I know it can be stressful when you are comparing scores with your close friends so if you feel that your SAT or ACT scores are not the strong points, I would suggest working on other aspects of your application. Good luck in classes and in the applying process!!! :)

Falling into MFA

I did an earlier post about things to do when in Boston and one of them was hitting up the Museum of Fine Arts. The Museum of Fine Arts has a great exhibit going on right now featuring contemporary artist Takashi Murakami so whenever you have free time in the area, go check it out!
