PBS kids was such a safe space for me as a kid. I literally wrote about how magical it made my childhood in my book. Especially for kids from lower income families who only have/had access to main channels. Knowing that future generations might not have that just because the government right now wants people to be brainless followers is so upsetting. I truly pray some wealthy celebrities who want to try their hand at being on the right side of history come through. Because I really don’t think us everyday people who relied on PBS for learning and entertainment have the means right now in this economy. Also NPR which is a very unbiased news source being at risk is also a frightening thought.
They’ll never take away are memories of the magical world of PBS but they are trying to take away future generations chance of making them.

My first poetry collection will be out May 2nd on Amazon. It’s called “if you’re going to swim, at least save the birds”
It’s a book about childhood and girlhood days. Appreciating your childhood and imagination for what it was and who it made you. Basking in nostalgia shamelessly. From summers spent playing outside with friends to autumns indoors watching your family’s favorite Halloween movies. It reflects on the childhood friendships that were lost to your coming of age. The tv shows, music and movies that helped to nurture and form your imagination.
