GUYS I did it. I did what I had been dreaming of doing for 5 years. I went to The Trawlerman in Wigan and tried the Wigan kebab, smack barm pey wet, and babby's yed. I felt like such a tourist but the staff were so lovely, and the food was amazing. Smack barm was my favourite; the crunchiness of the smack goes very well with the creaminess of pey wet. Also such good gravy and chips! I know a lot of non-British people who saw that video was mocking the food but I always thought it looked delicious and it's legitimately really good eating. Do try it if you ever find yourself in or near Wigan ☺️

It seems hard to believe in today’s climate, but the United States used to try to attract immigration. There was a lot of advertising designed to get immigrants to move to the U.S., or to certain parts of the country.

Other countries, like Canada and Australia, did this, too.
