odysseus lied to clytemnestra to convince her to send iphigenia to the greek camp. odysseus held iphigenia over the altar when she died. odysseus took hecuba captive. odysseus killed his maids for sleeping with the suitors. odysseus massacred the suitors. odysseus killed astyanax.

i don't think you fully understand just how much adaptations will change things to make men redeemable. there is very little that is more redeemable about odysseus than there is neoptolemus. the fact that you believe that neoptolemus is beyond the reach of The Adaptation just speaks to the effectiveness with which odyssey adaptations have warped the popular image of odysseus into something we believe is "better" and more honorable in some way.

the same applies for achilles btw. SPEAKING OF WHICH -- polyxena was not killed because neoptolemus just... wanted to kill her. that's a myth propagated by tsoa. achilles's ghost literally visits the greeks to demand polyxena's sacrifice. not to say neoptolemus is like some sort of stand up guy either -- but come on. the double standards.

I have been waiting. WAITING for this since 2023. This could seriously be an amazing adaption of the Trojan war, possibly the best we've had to date. In Jorge i leave my trust. I feel like the timing for this kind of a musical is also perfect, especially given.....certain goings on in the world. The timing of all this ain't no coincidence (and we love him for it)

I'll be honest. Everyone else is out here screaming about Achilles and Patroclus when I'm here for the women of troy, Especially Andromache Cassandra! HEAVY on Andromache!!! Christ above, these poor women.

People talk about how they'll be tearing up and sobbing over Patroclus's death whilst I'll be in bits when Cassandra is making a last ditch attempt to save her family and homeland but only gets mocked and humiliated again. Imagine knowing exactly what is going to happen to your city and family in the next few hours, including yourself, but you're powerless to stop it.

Andromache, my sweetings. The most innocent and unaccountable person in this whole shitshow. This poor woman's going to have lost everything she ever had by the end of this musical (start of 2nd??) but is that enough? No. Throw in a life as a sex slave to her husband's murderer's son and that's enough trauma and ptsd to last anyone a lifetime? Odysseus can't stand 7 years on an island held captive? Imagine that tenfold for the rest of your life.

then there's Polyxena. The girl who has quite literally done nothing but will be brutally sacrificed because her brother's murderer is still a petty little shit even from beyond the grave. Does it matter she went willingly? Fuck no.

Jorge. My sweetings. My darling. I beg of you do not make Neoptolemus into this misunderstood child or manipulated war pawn. This literal teenager is pure evil and in my opinion that shouldn't be shyed away from. Same going for Ajax the lesser.

If you change these character's, you're essentially excusing their actions and making these woman's suffering out to be less then it was, and therefore invalidating it.

Let. People. Be. Cruel.
