I feel like some of you guys think "bad art" is like someone gluing rhinestones to a water melon, or a guy who made his own armchair out of Ohio license plates, or a trashy romance novel where someone says "the blue-eyed one kissed the brown-eyed one," when in reality bad art is a 1000000 Billion Dollar movie where none of the workers got paid and every single creative decision was market tested to see how lucrative of a profit it could foreseeably make to wow shareholders.

i have this unrealistic fantasy in my head where if you calmly and logically explain something to someone perfectly they will understand your position and gain knowledge from the exchange. unfortunately in the real world this does not happen often

_ What the Mirror Saw

I drew this piece for my birthday which was actually a month ago. it was supposed to be Lee Know and Bang Chan, but the likeness didn’t quite come through so now it could be anyone lol

the idea behind it came from a detective AU that kept circling in my head while I was sketching. in that AU, Chan is a painter suspected of a series of brutal murders and Minho is the detective trying to catch him

but who’s the real villain here? 🤓 maybe the fact that Chan’s paintings seem to predict the crime scenes isn’t enough to prove his guilt. and maaaybe the detective has darker secrets than he’s letting on 👀🔪

im stacking extension cords on each other like theyre tinker toys. constructing a tower of babel in the name of the god of electricity. there'll be at least 100 outlets when ive hooked these boys up nice and good. ill never run out again

Listen to me. I am taking all of your faces in my hands. i am not a picky worldbuilding person at all but i must speak my truth here.

In a setting where soulmates are an actually provable phenomenon, PARTICULARLY when they are physical (soulmarks, etc), and same-gender soulmates are a thing that happens (and there would be), there would NOT be Catholic Church Homophobia. I’m not saying there would be no homophobia but it would not come from the Catholic Church

*according to original subtitles lee know here says "외래어 쓰면 왜애래어 안돼요?", which is most likely a play on the similar pronunciations of the word "why" (왜) and the beginning of the word "loanword" (외래어)

this is my far from the ideal attempt to translate this keeping the spirit(?) of this joke alive with a huge disclaimer saying that i do not speak korean, i just deep dived into some online dictionaries to try to understand it

we take jokes seriously here

additional thanks to the kind mysterious person who gave me that reply with the explanation about sounds, i don't think that was a dream, and i think you're real, even if i can't find that reply anymore
