Joel: *Pointing to a berry bush at the edge of his yard* So these are poisonous so no one eat them
Ellie: *with a mysterious purple stain around her mouth* Yeah duh
Joel: Go throw up
Ellie: But I didn’t eat any
Tommy and Joel: Go throw up

Just saw a tik tok of a stepdad getting surprised at a graduation that his stepkid took his last name and now no one talk to me for 5 business days because:
Ellie "graduating" school in Jackson (moving onto job shadowing/patrol training) and the community does a little ceremony for the group aging out.
They call all the kids' names in as similar of a graduation celebration they can in the apocalypse and Ellie up to this point has been too emotionally constipated to actually sit down and have a conversation with Joel about how most people call her 'the Miller girl' anyway.
She's Joel's in every way but blood, including inheriting his inability to talk about serious shit--and she decides to just. fuck it. full send.
Might as well take the risk to fill out the paper for her faux-degree the way she wants and ask for forgiveness if he's pissed about it
And then they call Ellie Miller to walk across the rec center stage and Joel just full on cries
And then Tommy cries too even while he's teasing Joel about it

During slavery, you worried that freeing slaves would cause prices to increase due to the loss of the slaves' labor.
Nowadays, you worry that freeing prisoners would cause prices to increase due to the loss of the prisoners' labor.
In other words, you want the government to implement something that keeps prices low.
If you think that's a legitimate function of the government, why not just prohibit corporations from profiting over a certain amount? Why not just tax rich people and provide those things for free?

last of us episode 2 of season 2 remains the same up to the point where Joel saves Abby from the Zombies & follows her very naively up to the house with her companions. But Jessie doesn’t get separated from Ellie & they arrive at the house as Abby is finishing her shitty speech abt revenge and shit & they walk in as Abby is about to strike Joel just for Ellie to shoot her & Jessie covers her, distracting Abby enough for Joel to grab a gun or something & help them finish the rest of the wolves or whatever. they take Dina back to Jackson & yeah everyone is grieving the loss of loved ones after the zombi hoard, but Joel is alive & his family is alive & everyone reconstructs & Ellie & Joel’s relationship improves & everything is happy again 😭😭😭

"They made Ellie too dumb in the show"
No, it just highlights the differences between Ellie's intelligence and Dina's intelligence. Ellie is not a video game character in the show, neither is Dina, neither of them are engaging in the type of combat that we engaged in in the game.
Dina is very proactive, she plans out what she wants to do, and that's where her strength lies. But, when you look at her and scenes like the stalker scene, she freezes, she doesn't know what to do. Because she's not good in the moment.
But Ellie on the other hand, her strength lies intense situations like the stalker scene, she acts fast, she tells Dina what to do, and she executes her plan to the best of her ability. She is not the type of person to plan ahead, at least in the same way as Dina.
In the game, both Dina and Ellie had to be good in these tense fighting scenes, because they are video game characters. Ellie obviously is dependent on player actions, but Dina would just be annoying if she didn't help out in fights.
TL;DR: Ellie and Dina are both smart, but just in different ways. Ellie is smart in tense situations, Dina tends to freeze up, they complement each other's intelligence in that way.
