Tenko checked his game only to find that he’d shut it off in his fumble, losing all the progress that he’d gained over the day on his in game map. He made a grunt of dismay before shoving the game in his backpack, turning to face his adoptive father. 

He was half hunched, seeming like he was constantly trying to hide himself in his hair. He felt much better in his hero costume when his face was mostly hidden by mask but it wasn’t like he could wear that all the time. 

“You’re teaching here now?” 

His voice was even softer as he said, “Sorry. Goes with the persona.” It was a little hard to turn it off when he wasn’t at home and he could just relax. And not feel like he had to stay in his buff form.

Toshi felt a little bad that he might have ruined his game, but he knew Tenko would find a way to get back to where he was. He was pretty good at those sorts of games and Toshi knew that he’d get back to where he’d been before.

“I’m going to be. They have me set to teach the hero course for the first years.” He gave his adoptive son a smile. “Of course, that means I’ll be able to see the two of you more often and it’s always good to see the both of you.”

“The two of you have been through a lot and are more mature than some of your peers. Of course you’d want a place of your own. I’m sure I could find a way to be the one to visit the two of you.”

“It does seem like there’s been an uptick in activity lately...” He rubbed his chin and said, “I don’t see why not. The two of you are responsible... The only problem I can foresee is someone demanding that a teacher check on you often. Would you be alright with that?”

He stares at the hand held out in front of him, not wanting to touch him, afraid he’ll try to hold him. The thought makes his skin crawl, he’s felt so uncomfortable the past couple of days.

“I…” What would make him feel safe? He doesn’t even know how to answer the man’s question! Taking deep, wet sounding breathes. His face feeling uncomfortable with tears. “Can I change the lock on my room?” He doesn’t know he’s asking the right person, but he doesn’t want to talk about this anymore, wants to stop staring at his dorm room door waiting for it to open again.

“I don’t need a new room or anything… He has a key… or something.” It was hard to remember after getting hit in the head with 10%. “When I lock my door, I want it to stay locked. That’s it!”

Toshi would never push touch on any one who didn’t want it. However, he was always there to give comfort to those who wanted or needed it. Some reacted better to touch than others and he didn’t question it.

Giving a nod, he said, “Of course, young man. A new lock is easy enough to do if it gives you peace of mind.” To Toshi, it was a simple fact of giving the young man a safe place to be. He knew himself how important it could be to have a place that was yours that no one else could get to, a place that was just yours.

“We’ll get that taken care of. I’ll personally go talk to maintenance. Now, is there anything else that can help you feel safe?”

"All Might, can I ask you something?" -Katsuki

“Of course, young man. You can ask me anything.”

“Fucking… Your fucking successor told me everyone thinks I’m better off as a villain. That’s before he smacked me in the back of the head! He thinks I’m better off as a villain, then you have to as well? Right?!” He’s screaming, ignoring the hot tears rolling down his face.

He doesn’t care about the tears, he just wants the truth. Is he a villain? Should he have stayed with the league?

Muttering, “He got into my space. My room doesn’t feel safe anymore. Sleeping under my bed like some coward.”

“Did he now?” Toshi was severely disappointed to find out that Young Midoriya was acting in such a way. He didn’t think that the young man would act like that and what made it even worse was how the young man in front of him was so troubled by it all.

Keeping his voice soft, he held out a hand at the younger man and said, “You would not be better off as a villain. I don’t know what got into Young Midoriya to say those things to you or to hit you, but that was uncalled for.”

Shaking his head in disappointment at his successor’s actions, he asked, “Is there anything I can do for you to help you feel safe, Young Bakugo?”

“If I was to ask him about you, what would he tell me about you?”
