god i can't believe that gavv is ending so soon, i'm gonna miss all of the actors and characters (i say this about every cast, but god this is the strongest i felt sad about a kr season ending)

RIGHT??? 😭 I've been enjoying Gavv a lot, it's probably my favorite Reiwa series so far to be honest! all good things must come to an end, but I'm still gonna be real sorry to see it go. :(

One of the sweetest things Gozyuger does is letting Hoeru make up for lost times. Playing house, first love (ignore how it ended), sports day, subculture (gyaru) school life, and making friends.

It’s a tragedy that Hoeru lost both his childhood and adolescence. He’s forced to be an adult when he doesn’t even know what that looks like. He experiences one horrible thing after another. But the writers makes sure that he gets all the experiences one needs to grow up and find happiness.

Not all adolescent experiences Hoeru’s getting are good. There’s also the experience of domestic violence with Kuon. Something unfortunately wide-spread in reality. But he fights back. Because of the other gozyuger and the other ring warriors he meets, he learns what a healthy adult looks like. What a happy life looks like.

Hoeru still has a long way to go. But the narrative is eager to help him.

just saw the new Superman and yknow what I keep thinking about?.. when he’s fighting Luthor’s diversion in Metropolis, Clark is making every effort to isolate it to a relatively open space (the park). damages are at a minimum. but that takes time, it’s not efficient enough, so then the corporate-funded Justice Gang shows up - and oops, suddenly buildings are being swept off their foundations, civilians in direct line of fire, the city core is getting ripped apart. he’s scrambling to save children, squirrels, people caught in the red zone while the others are more interested in punching the big monster. the story makes it absolutely clear that corporations don’t care about life or harm reduction, and in a world in which superheroes are already normalized, this kindness is what sets Superman apart

I think one of my favorite things about all of the scenes involving Superman saving individuals is the fact that every one of them was just him saving one person. No more

This stuck out to me in the third act when he saves a woman in her car from a falling building

It’s just one woman in a car with her things trying to leave Metropolis before things get worse and here comes Superman saving her

I feel like any other superhero movie would’ve made her a mother with a bunch of kids to up the stakes but something about him taking the time to save one person just makes that special to me

Also I love the fact that he saved a fucking squirrel that fell from a tree

They probably saw someone people online be like “Oh what is he going to save a cat from a tree” but James Gunn was like “Nah, I got something better”

before ch 3&4 i honestly had never really thought about dessriel as a concept much. but now it is haunting me because of its narrative implications. especially when you subscribe to the dess knight theory.

like...duo doomed to be apart in every universe. when dess is alive asriel is dead or a twisted facsimile of who he once was. when asriel is alive dess is dead or a twisted facsimile of who she once was.

like...even if they weren't romantically involved they were so close??? dess had asriel's clothes in her wardrobe??? she's described by noelle as wearing his clothes in her memories??? she has copies of ska music that asriel gave her??? and she's just gone??? asriel has to fucking live with that??? the more the game progresses the more i feel like Oh My God Of Course Asriel Left. his best friend/potential girlfriend went missing, his father was involved in a way that completely destroyed his family unit with a divorce so bad it TRAUMATISED HIS TV, his younger sibling seems incredibly burdened by guilt related to dess' disappearance (leading them to Working Alongside presumably carol and dess). Jesus Christ of course he got out of town as soon as possible.

my sick and twisted mind keeps making me think about asriel coming home at some point in ch 5-7 and. GOD AUGHHHHH oh my god he comes back and the world is ending in his hometown, his father driven to madness, kris more closed off than ever, and at the centre of it all is his DEAD GIRLFRIEND PULLING STRINGS TO BRING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD??? (this is going to be so embarrassing if dess isn't the knight)

but also like...december holiday growing up in the Underground, not even knowing what she's lost. feeling lonely for the most inexplicable reason like there's something she's desperately missing but can never have. but the person she's missing died a century ago and came back wrong. and they'll never meet, even though they should be so important to each other. flowey in early resets still trying to pretend everything is okay and spending time with the other children in the underground and they get along so well it scares him. dess growing up in the one world in which she and asriel never knew each other when he was alive and never knowing OOOOOH IT IS SO FUCKED UP

dess was definitely a massive my chem fan from the start and got kris to learn the black parade songs on the piano so they could cover it when they'd be over and in the same move dess taught kris guitar which would explain why kris can just play crazy solos. and also thats how kris got roped into the whole having good taste (listening to mcr) thing. -AND that's how noelle first recognized how good the music on that album really is. she's heard dess listening to my chemical romance, but she never really absorbed it the way she did when she was laying on that couch listening to them play in the kitchen, a whole concert just for her.

the black parade tee noelle wears as pajamas was a gift from dess, which she probably bought at one of the concerts she'd have to sneak out to get to (and eventually took noelle to after she got the taste for it)

noelle has a crush on frank (because she has a type) and dess has a crush on ray (because one he's a guitar god she can aspire to become AND TWO she has a type; ray is a golden retriever type, ray of sunshine, always positive and nice, just a perfect Boy!... almost like... another person in her life... a character that just so happens to be her age... and matches that description... and just so happens to be implied to have slept with her OR AT LEAST IN HER ROOM (not here to make assumptions wink wink), because his sweater is literally hanging in her closet to this day................and she has his retainers which you ideally take out when makin out............... well im not gonna spell it out for you. actually i will, it starts with an a and ends with a sriel)

dess' favorite album is the black parade cuz of the solos, but she's a slight elitist in the way that she thinks anyone who doesnt like their bullets album is either stupid or a poser. (and she's right IM JUST SAYIN)
