Guess what! There is another event on the same day and I'm making a banner for that one too! If these go really well I'm gonna try to see if I can sell painted banners for some extra cash. Today I designed and sketched the second banner and cooked 2 dishes: a chicken dish + an eggplant dish. Only 1 day (tomorrow) left till the event so I got the cooking out of the way to focus lol.

I offered to make a banner for another event. I've seen a lot of people painting banners for money so I wanted to give it a try. I haven't had a chance to do something fun AND useful for a while 🥺 it's making me miss my old masjid community </3 It's also getting my mind off my recent job disappointment. I applied to a job that I would be perfect for, but didn't hear back from them. I tried contacting them and finally got through to someone, only to hear that they never received any application with my name 😔😔

august 2

it’s very rainy and cold, really feels like midwinter now. i woke up very slowly and despite the plan to start studying early today, was rendered to the late afternoon after lunch.

but I’m proud of myself, because I’ve done some maths and physics today! it actually makes me physically ill when I get these questions wrong, but I was determined to try again, and it paid off! the reluctance to do physics and maths has been so bad. on top of not being able to study much last week because I had so many late finishes with work.

august 2

today my partner and i went to the farmers market and met up with a friend. we were unsuccessful finding asparagus but we did manage to find a good tomato and what seems to be the last rainier cherries of the season! and these strawberries smelled so good i had to get a pint. afterwards we went to a local japanese pottery shop so i could try to find some matcha supplies as a gift for someone. i'll probably spend the rest of the afternoon reading ^.^

[15.07.25, monday]

First day back at work and it's already not going very good. After convincing myself to stop bedrotting and to leave early to go to my usual coffee place for an hour before my evening shift, the place was closed :D they supposedly don't close at midday and I've been there before work many times, so it was kind of a bummer. And also it's in an area of the city I don't really know, so ended up finding a random bar to spend the hour. Managed to get a bit done tho :')

I've been going over the phrases and parragraphs I've been writing down from the youtube videos, and extracting words and constructions, searching the meaning and writing more examples. It's going nicely so far, and getting some colloquial vocab that will be useful, but I'm still a bit unsure what to do with it. Flashcards or not flashcards, that's always the question.

I do think I'll at least make them, cause I feel like if I leave the vocab there I won't be memorizing it, but it's been impossible to get used to anki and to do them daily, my consistently is nowhere to be found. But will maybe give it another try 🫡

02.08 -> summer self study

Let's just say I really didn't have the opportunity to tackle my academic interests in the past couple of weeks. After travelling with my family and my bf, well.... my psychosomatic nausea decided to come back and torture me for a couple days straight. My family decided that it's best I go to the country and try to relax there (such a 19th century type of healing practice ngl). It did indeed help abd I finally had the motivation and time to continue reading. I'm very slow with this book, partially because I have to take notes after each chapter but I rarely have the opportunity to do it.

Jul 12-15, 2025 - 23-25/93 Days of Summer📝👟💡

Days of rest 😴 i was not doing well this week I'm not sure why. PMS was bad, cramps were bad, it was rough subhanallah. One of the days I wasn't able to go to Jumuah and another event that I had been looking forward to 💔 but my bestie was on vacation and videocalled me and kept me company that day 🥺🥺 which I really appreciated! Alhamdulillah for ppl like her💕

Did some sketching, and finally had a job interview after sO long! Honestly I think it went great. Maybe not perfect but maybe a 8/10? Not pictured here but I also removed a turmeric stain from my (white!!) bedsheet and I couldn't be prouder of myself 😌✨
