-their ballet skills and such are a result of being taught it as a child and they wont give up an opportunity to show off/they simply arent dysphoric about it

-the comphet kris x noelle is still creepy even if theyre transmasc, indeed on one less level but like it would still be creepy to be in that situation. perhaps it would even still be creepy in a gender way if they wanted to be nonbinary and not like other men and even if theyre masculine, being creepy to women is one thing they didnt want to do. in terms of comphet carol, she could not know how humans work well enough to remember to be transphobic to kris and tell them theyre a bad candidate for noelle. I GET how kris being amab is more narratively powerful in this instance but i like transmasc kris everywhere else so ill let it slide

in contrast, chapter 4 has none of those problems and is artistically delightful, from the church backgrounds and assets, through the animations (such as kris playing the piano, that scene was like Fully animated. so many poses. they didn't have to but they did and every pose carried so much emotion, it felt truly special!!!) to the character designs (looking at you carol portraits)

its funny to see all the good artists on a project work on a chapter/episode they care about, and leave noone for another. always a relief when you see where the resources actually went to. imo its a sign of a good project too in a way, because being able to choose which part you do usually means there will be more passion in it

imo deltarune chapter 3 is very messy visually and the eclectic style collage feels lazy sometimes, bordering on a shitpost. for some reason the use of compressed real life photos isnt the greatest offender, its actually reasonable within the context, but i hate the combination of brown, grey and neon colours, its not thought through and desperately needs some colour grading. the idea of a lightsource seems to be an afterthought in this room as well as every other, but this normally isnt a problem when we dont see the physical lamp. the cooky star gradient backgrounds feel like a sims wallpaper that needs to rape your eyes with cheap effects so people notice it in the store and buy it with real money, only for it to look dogshit in the context of an actual room

i also think the ammount of funny text and 3d graphics sort of retroactively ruins spamton, his impact came partially from pushing the format of deltarune, but now it has been pushed much further without the element of surprise, putting out tenna and undercutting spamton in one shot. but it wasssss kinda fun and i suppose in the end thats all that matters..

i do have to say the weather reporters look amazing and its not surprising theres so much fanart of them, its kind of odd that they're the only visual aspect in the chapter that someone worked hard on (in the design phase, not the animation phase) but i still appreciate it.

i also like the silhouette darkners for their dynamic poses and expressions, and the zelda style minigames for having actually decent colour palettes. they could be improved upon but they still carry artistic value

in many fandoms fake leaks can be distinguished by just being worse quality than the actual product, but in this case, quite a few fake "chapter 3" fangames were alot more refined.
