The 2nd pattern I've been secretly working on was Snom!! This little ice bug exploded in popularity over night, it seemed, and he was another prefect excuse to try making more "smol" Amigurumi.
I'll be making 5 in total to debut at Katsucon alongside Applin, and im nervous yet excited to see how people react to them.
It had snowed at just the right moment here - and only stayed for just over a day - so it was a mad rush to work up the first Snom for the perfect photo setting!

Who wants a basket of freshly picked Applin?
This unique little Dragon type Pokemon has gotten a lot love since the games came out, and i couldnt resist making a few for Katsucon next month! There are even some shiny Applin thrown in as well, for some lucky Trainers who stop by in time to choose!
I dont make many small amigurumi, and Applin was my attempt to try to make more along the smaller side. They're still a bit big in comparison to most typical amigurumi others make, but theyre small for my typical work!
Applin is my first new crochet pattern of 2020 and im so excited for the next several i have planned 🤣 How do you all like Applin? Do you hope to evolve yours into a Flapple or Appletun?

hello mcyt tumblr!!!
i came up with a pattern for these cute crochet dream blobs and i thought i’d share it with y’all.
you can use any size white yarn you have and whatever corresponding hook for that yarn.
for the face, i needle felted the eyes, as i found that was the best way to make it look as accurate as possible, and then i used black embroidery thread for the mouth.
abbreviations:
sc - single crochet
inc - increase
dec - decrease
head:
1 | 6sc in magic circle [6]
2 | inc all around [12]
3 | sc, inc all around [18]
4 | 2sc, inc all around [24]
5 | 3sc, inc all around [30]
6-9 | sc all around [30]
10 | 3sc, dec all around [24]
11 | 2sc, dec all around [18]
12 | sc, dec all around [12] add on face (needle felt eyes and embroider mouth) fill with stuffing
13 | dec all around [6]
14 | slip stitch to close off and cut a long tail for sewing
body:
1 | 6sc in magic circle [6]
2 | sc all around [6]
3 | inc all around [12]
4 | sc all around [12]
5 | sc, inc all around [18]
6 | sc all around [18]
7 | 2sc, inc all around [24]
8-14 | sc all around [24]
15 | 3sc, inc all around [30]
16-17 | sc all around [30]
18 | (in back loops only) sc all around [30]
19 | 3sc, dec all around [24]
20 | 2sc, dec all around [18]
21 | sc, dec all around [12] fill with stuffing
22 | dec all around [6]
23 | slip stitch to close off and cut a short tail to tuck back in
assembly:
use the tails to sew the head to the body, but make sure to make the head a little bit off center to best reflect how the blob looks
cut the tail if necessary and tuck it back in
feel free to mold the stuffing a bit to adjust the shape and you have your very own dream!
if you have any questions feel free to ask! :)

Doll pattern
Want to make dolls like these?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After some thinking I decided to share my basic chibi doll pattern. This is not a perfect pattern, I freehand everything but these are the usual steps I'd follow to get a chibi doll.
Head:
6sc in a magic ring,
6inc,
[inc,sc] around,
sc, [inc, 2sc] x5, inc, sc,
[inc, 3sc],
2sc, [inc, 4sc] x5, inc, 2sc
7 times crochet around
2sc, [dec, 4sc] x5, dec, 2sc
[dec, 3sc]
1sc, [dec, 2sc] x5, dec, sc
Fasten off
Put the eyes between rows 7 and 8 counted from the last row with roughly 7 stitches between them and stuff the head.
Hair:
Crochet a cap by following the head tutorial until the first 3 or 4 rows around. Use the hair color for the cap.
Sew the cap on the head where you want the hairline to be.
Sew or crochet hair on top, depending on what you want. There's lots of cool hair tutorials for amigurumi.
(tip, don't attach open hair before you sew on the ears, they're in the way)
Ears:
Human: chain 4, turn, slst, sc, slst
Elf: chain 4, turn, slst, sc, hdc
Bigger elf ears: chain 5, turn, slst, sc, hdc, dc
Legs: make 2 (or as many as you like, I'm not the leg police)
5sc in magic circle
inc around
Crochet around until they have the size you like and fasten one leg off, don't fasten off the second one.
Join the legs by doing the last stitch in leg 2 and then continuing to crochet into leg 2. Crochet into the starting sc of the join twice, you should have a round of 24 stitches at the end. (if that doesn't work for you, just put one inc on the outside of each leg.
If there ends up being a small space between the legs, you can sew them together with the fasten off end of leg 1
If you want a thigh gap, make one chain stitch before joining the legs, don't crochet into the same stitch twice in that case.
Only stuff the legs after you joined them, the filling gets in the way.
Body:
The joined legs make the body, you build up from the bottom. (that's why we need 24sc around)
Crochet around until the body is almost the same length as the legs. Don't forget to put in a stitch marker.
1sc, [dec, 2sc] x5, dec, sc
[dec, sc]
[sc] around
[sc, inc]
The crochet rochet around is the neck, so do more rounds for a longer neck or a giraffe fursona or whatever tickles your fancy)
Fasten off.
Stuff the rest of the body.
Attach the head to the neck, each stitch has an according neck stitch to attach to. Make sure the face faces forward.
Arms:
Chain 4,
inc around,
stitch around until the arms roughly reach from the shoulders to where you joined the legs.
Put some filling or wire in the arms but they also work without.
Sew the top row together and attach them at shoulder height (where we started decreasing on the body)
Yay! That's it! Your own chibi doll.
Clothes, details, colors: if this doll is naked now or if you changed colors to make them have clothes, all up to you.
Have fun. I'd love to see what people created.
I have a kofi, in case anyone wants to click that link in my header ;)
This pattern belongs to me, the dolls you make with it are for personal use only. Don't go selling stuff I shared for free, be decent.
