Sorry for being a bit late with this friday's post! I still had to make a few corrections on these pages first before posting them. Thank you very much for the positive feedback on my last post! I Hope you all had a nice week! ^^

This is the continuation of my last post, a comicification (is that even a word? xD) of my friend @moonflowerwrites latest fanfiction The Arms of the Ocean. This comic covers only roughly what happens in the story. If you're interested in this, go read the whole story, it's very good! ^^ So, Mashita wakes up after being rescued from almost drowning by a mysterious sea creature (aka Mer-Yashiki) and wonders where the heck he is and how he got there. Then suddenly the answer to all of his questions "jumps" out of the water right in front of him! xD (Btw, the white patches on Mashita's clothes are supposed to be dried salt from the seawater, I hope it looks believable enough... ^^')

I'm still very much inspired by this story and planning to draw more, though I can't promise that I will cover the whole story. Anyway, I hope you all liked this post. Let me know what you think of it if you like. Thanks for taking a look and have a nice week! :)

This friday's post has been inspired by my friend @moonflowerwrites newest fanfiction The Arms of the Ocean. If you haven't read that one yet, I highly recommend it, it's very good!!

As you can see it's another Mer-Yashiki fanfiction. Funny how all of this started with @enjoyjellime's fanfic Choco Fin and since then created a spiral of writers and artists inspiring each other with new works! xD I don't think I will tire to draw Yashiki with a fish tail anytime soon, It's too much fun! These three pages roughly cover the beginning of the fanfiction (a few things are slightly different). Mashita's not having a fun time here... :( But Yashiki is coming to the rescure!! ^-^ I'll probably try to draw more for this, unless I get a new idea that catches my attention. Based on the info from my friend moonflowersong I drew Yashiki with a belt to be able to carry tools, and clothes in form of some kind of loincloth (sorry, I couldn't make the vest look good, so I skipped that ^^'). I didn't draw him with his glasses because I also didn't the last few times (it fits better this way in my opinion) and it's a bit refreshing to draw him without for a change.

I used to think that Mary had a black outfit, and a white outfit. That is wrong.

Mary has a black outfit with slight alterations depending on whether you're playing the game, reading the manga, or looking at the art in the artbook.

Mary has two white outfits: one in the style of her black outfit, with alterations depending on whether you're playing the Mary's Makeover DLC or looking at the art in the artbook, and one in a completely different style that is featured in the art for the audio drama Blue Demise.

The reason I chose to recreate the white outfit from the DLC specifically was twofold. Firstly, I already had a lot of white cotton fabric that I could use. Secondly, I am planning to make the black outfit as well, and since I didn't pay for the white fabric, I thought this costume could act as a trial run.

I think this decision paid off. There are several things that I will do differently on the black version. I want to make the skirt shorter, with ruffles rather than pleats. The gold on the sleeves will be embroidered rather than painted on. I need another pattern for the gloves, because these were too big and clumsy-looking. The hat also needs to be smaller...

Like I wrote previously, there are differences between the white outfit in the artbook and the white outfit in the DLC. I wasn't aware of this at first, so mine is a mixture of both. I still chose to describe it as the outfit she wears in the DLC, because that one and mine both lack the gold detailing on the jacket. I felt like that was the most noticeable detail, so that's what I went with when describing this costume. However, the DLC outfit's sleeves differ from mine. It doesn't have the gold detailing (or if it does, it's very subtle) , the sleeves are puffier, and there doesn't seem to be any lace, only scallops. Mine look a lot more like the regular black outfit's sleeves, as I wanted to try out techniques for them.

Needless to say, I've spend a lot of time thinking about Mary's different outfits. Something I really appreciate about the art in Death Mark overall is the outfits are constructed. In both CGs and the artbook, you can see the seams and figure out how the garments would be constructed. In general, there is just a lot of attention to detail and realism. It makes me feel like a lot of thought and love went into making these characters, outfits and all.

My costume isn't perfect by a long shot, but I'm happy with it, and that is somewhat unusual for me. By the end of a sewing project, I'm usually so tired and frustrated by what I've been making that I hardly even want to wear it. In contrast, I really enjoyed wearing this outfit and I even felt pretty cute. Of course, having my very own Yashiki for the day helped a lot <3

I forgot that Death Mark only runs for about 3 hours on the steam deck before it crashes so I lost that much progress, but it's fine since most of it was typing down the script anyway. All I managed to get through was the section between chapters 3 and 4 and the little bit before the ch 4 investigation truly starts. Anyway, rest in pieces Mary I'm glad Saya managed to kick your face in before you got her

and also a bonus Eita line I liked - if you take him to dig up Hanayome's fiance, Yashiki slaps a hand over his mouth to make him shut up because Genta is there, and you get this from him.

Hey guys, hope you had a good week! ^^ Gosh, can't believe it's already friday again...

So, I didn't manage to finish what I actually wanted to post today, but thankfully I had these old sketches still lying around. I drew them back when I was still working on the "Only Human" comic project, but didn't post them because there were still a few things I felt needed to be polished/corrected first. That's what I did today. Still not completely happy with a few parts but I lost my patience with these, so they're just gonna stay like this now. ^^'

These sketches were inspired by the fanfiction "Proof of Devotion" by The_Lonely_Creator (AO3) or @otokowrecker . I really liked that story (thank you for writing and posting this!!) and wanted to draw Yashiki with the white hair and fox ears, because I was curious how he would look like. I gotta admit, even though I generally like characters with white hair and/or fox ears, I completely agree with the author that the look really doesn't suit Yashiki! xD Black hair just looks best for him. Speaking of black, I tried out a different kind of shading here with thicker black lines, inspired from what I've seen by other artists. I kinda like the look, but sadly/obviously it's also much more work I have to put into it... (and I'm lazy...) ^^' Aaaanyway, the other project I was working on is another short comic (thanks to the inspiration provided by my friend @moonflowerwrites). I'm hoping to get it done for next week's post!

It's friday again, time for another Death Mark post! ^^ I managed to finish the short comic, hope you'll like it! Also, thank you guys, for all your nice comments and support, I can never say that enough! <3

As I mentioned last time, my friend @moonflowerwrites helped inspire me for this short comic by mentioning that it would be cute if the girls persuaded Yashiki to style their hair for them, like Saya used to (shown in the art book). Drawing all of the girls for this was a bit too challenging for me at the moment, so I settled on drawing only Ai here, but the other ones at least do appear in that one "flashback" panel on page 2. With this comic I just wanted to create a short and cute "(adopted) family"-moment between Yashiki and one of the Mark Bearers and add a bit of an emotional aspect, by showing scenes from Yashiki's past with his little sister. I just love seeing Yashiki being caught off guard and put into situations he doesn't feel prepared for by the others! xD He does feel a bit shy and unsure about their requests, but he also doesn't have the heart to turn them down, so he's trying his best. And deep inside of him, he realizes that it makes him happy too and is glad to spend time with his friends. ^^

In a tragic turn of events, the game I was playing stopped working properly on my steam deck after an update, and in trying to fix it I only wiped my nearly 40 hours of data. COOL BEANS, but anyway, the inability to appease one special interest gave me the drive to work on a different special interest and I finally finished Chapter 3 on that death mark script I started decades ago

This chapter is much more novel than game, very few items and locations to traverse, but that makes it really easy to skim through for character differences at least. Eita leaving his radio in the car Just Because is a bit of a plot device, it's unclear who buried the fiance (Genta??), and the last stand being much easier to survive make me wonder what order the chapters were written in coz I think this might be one of the earlier ones.

idk, I don't have much to say besides here's to Hanayome, and also here's more screenshots of our new spouses - Eita, and Christie dropping the Mr during a Live or Die segment, which is always special.

(since it's been forever since I started this, the bit is that I named Yashiki 'Dear Husband' so everyone calls him Husband and I'm making a photo album to commemorate their happy polyamorous relationship)

Hey guys, I'm back for another Floride Friday post, haha! xD Hope everyone had a good week! I've recovered and feel much better now. Thank you for all the nice comments on my last post, I was very happy that it was so well received, and thanks for the well wishes!! <3 Also, thank you for the "floridecuts fsaturday", @noushoe, I really appreciate it! xD And another thing, I totally forgot to do that - shame on me - but I really wanted to thank everyone for all the nice feedback on my mini-comic with Yashiki making coffee. I was really astounded by all the positive feedback and nice comments I got for that! Thank you so, so much guys for all the support!!! <3

Okay so, I'm still procrastinating on finishing my WIPs, haha. But I saw this post from @otokowrecker recently and it got me inspired immediately. Don't know why this theme gripped me like that but my brain kept throwing new ideas at me and I just went with it - I'm not complaining when creativity is flowing. So have a few pictures of Yashiki in an apron! xD So, which version of the old man in an apron is your favorite? Feel free to tell me if you like! ^^

My personal favorite art is the second one, but I also really like the last one in terms of funniness. xD For a while now I've wanted to draw the girls putting hair clips and stuff into Yashiki's hair on some occasion, and with this I finally got an excuse to do so, haha. Also, I figured Shou and Mashita would totally laugh or at least snort at Yashiki's "new look" here. While Yashiki is a little embarassed, he'd never have the heart to deny the girls/refuse their gifts, so he just plays along. But he's also probably very touched by their thoughtfulness.
