I like to see the "fight" as any one of their playful arguments when they finally become friends and then lovers and they're both able to express their full argumentative natures to one another because they have this new but steady trust. They're not keeping score.

i think someone mentioned it before but im saying it again: inkblade ship is so blue. like, just general aesthetics and their own mirrored color scheme (adaine with blue eyes and gold hair / oisin with gold eyes and blue scales) is something so lovely to me.

along these lines, i’ve also been thinking a lot about soulmates au (shoutout to @serenescribe for indulging me on this) and how being known wholly and accepted as they are is probably a vulnerability none of them have experience in, but you really can’t hide anything from each other and just. the feeling of being free enough to be as you are and loved despite it? for it? ooooh its so good. So good.

Somebody in the reblogs mentioned how they don't use the pink and orange lesbian flag because the creator is aphobic and the just reminded me of the severe response I have to seeing that flag/color scheme in either fandom spaces or queer spaces

So much of aphobia (and related biphobia and transphobia) came from people and profile sporting that flag and if you d a r e d point then people who would never in a million years defend an ace person were suddenly more than happy to dogpile you for "hating lesbians"

In my final year on this hellsite seeing that flag gave me the same physical "terror" response that maga hats and trump signs did. The "i am just trying to exist and this person wants me dead" terror

Somebody else mentioned how ace and aro people "weren't allowed" to mourn Pulse. Can 100% confirm that memory - if an ace or aro blog talked about pulse the aphobes lost their fucking minds

It was all so disgusting and the vast majority of the queer "community" of tumblr completed ignored it because it "didn't matter" or "was just discourse" and "no one actually cares"

I don't think younger/newer users fully grasp the shit show that ace discourse was around 2014-17

It was so hostile that, to this day, discussions that begin to derail just enough can make me physically nauseous, some specific mockery trigger crying sessions years later. We lost most accounts with any sort of ace positivity. There was no information, no support, and all this damage was done predominantly by other queer people.

All this to say that you, however you identify yourself, should be engaging with aphobic comments the same way you do any hate. We don't sugarcoat or try to be comprehensive with people who are blatantly racist, homophobic or terfs, so why give it a pass just because it's coming from a queer person? I see how this tolerance goes and it's done enough damage as it is.

The insane about of vitriol so many massive accounts were spewing about and towards ace and aro people and the even larger number of accounts that were totally fine with it was the primary thing that drove me off this site. It was absolutely fucking disgusting and there are people I will never fucking forgive for things the did, accounts they supported, and cries for help that they ignored in favor of funny memes and #relatable content
