I saw @cutiebatata‘s post about some deleted scene from the “love” montage in “TAK, the Hideous New Girl,” so I went to the animatic on the DVD to check it out.
Though it isn’t mentioned in the commentary (to my knowledge), conventional wisdom seems to be that Jhonen wanted these scenes changed because they were “too sweet.”
