Can I request a one-shot for poly Saja Boys revealed their demon forms to gn reader thinking you would reject them but you're just surprised at how different they look in a good way please?

REASSURANCE
It was 10:29 PM, you just finished your nightly routine, ready for bed. You lay down as you set your alarms for the morning then put your phone down, ready to drift off into sleep.
*RRRRING*
Your eyes shot open in annoyance as you picked up your phone once more only to be met with a call from Jinu, your face softened. "Jinu? Aren't you supposed to be sleeping for your debut tomorrow? It's late, you guys need rest" You're starting to get concerned. "No Y/N, I know it's late but could you please come? We all need to talk to you..." He sounded worried, as if he was keeping something from you.
"Uh...yeah...I'll be there in fifteen, love you" Your voice trailed on, you're even more freaked out thinking you were about to get dumped. He hung up. Million thoughts flood your head as you rushed to put on slippers, not even caring about your sleep clothes.
You've arrived to their house a little bit earlier than fifteen minutes, you tend to walk faster when you're nervous. You knocked once then were greeted by your boyfriends all at once. The vibe felt off, a regretful look on all of their faces. "What's going on...?" You're terrified. You thought they did something stupid and were about to come clean with you.
"Hey love, glad to see you again." Romance was the first to step forward to pull you into a hug. "What's going on?!" You questioned.
"We really need to tell you something, but you have to promise us something." Baby came by your side to lead you to the couch as he sat down next to you. "Yes, of course. Please tell me, I'm tired." You yawned as you titled your head back, trying to get comfortable.
"We love you a lot Y/N, we're willing to do anything with and for you. You mean so much to us, you gave us a purpose in life. You...gave us back our souls..." Jinu started explaining, sitting down on your opposite side. "We're willing to destroy this world if you ask us to, that's just how much we love you." Jinu continue explaining.
"We can't hide this from you anymore so Jinu said we should just tell you." Abby was next to talk as he sat in front of you on the floor. "Plus I think you rather hear it from us first before Rumi, Zoey, and Mira tell you..." Romance took your hand and rubbed it gently.
"We understand if you don't want to speak with us anymore, we shouldn't keep secrets from each other." Mystery finally spoke, voice trembling. "Just tell me! I'm scared!" You're slightly raise your voice, shaking from fear. Romance tried his best to calm you down.
"We're demons." Mystery and Baby said at the same time.
Before you knew it, a puff of pink smoke appeared out of nowhere. Everyone turned a deepish purple, violet hues glowing under the moonlight shining through the windows, tusks and all. Patterns crept up their skins all the way to their foreheads.
"You guys are d-demons?!" You gasped as you jumped up from the couch quickly. They all glanced at each other worriedly. Romance rubbed your knuckles faster. "We aren't here to hurt you, we would never." Abby took your free hand as he place it onto his chest.
Silence filled the air, the boys scared to move.
.........
"So cool! I've always wanted a demon boyfriend! Or boyfriends...! Even better!" You jumped with joy as you look at each of them, admiring their new features. They stood up with wide eyes. "Y-You do?!!" Abby looked surprised, a smile broke out on his face. "Yes! You don't realize how cool this is. I'm like, the luckiest person ever!" You pulled Abby into the tightest hug ever.
Mystery got up quickly and pulled you into a hug from behind, tusks rubbing against your neck. "I'm glad..." Mystery whispers in your ear. "Because we won't allow you to leave us."
The hairs on your neck stood up. "You guys look so great, please never be afraid to be yourselves around me ever again. I could never think you guys are hideous." You reassured them as Abby and Mystery continued to sandwich you between them.
"I never said we were ugly, what the hell!" Baby caught an attitude with you. Romance smacked him over the head.
"I thought you guys were going to break up with me and I was panicking all the way here." Tears filled your eyes as you spoke. "We love you for accepting us, we will never leave your side." This time, Romance reassured you, giving you a kiss.
Everyone at once attacked you with kisses telling you to not to break up with them. You got to spend the night in their apartment, getting a good night's rest before their debut at the plaza tomorrow.
Rumi, Mira, and Zoey would've definitely told you if they were demons, warning you. So the boys told you first and you're grateful they told you the truth.

🎐 MYSTERY
Mystery wasn’t loud about it, but he noticed. He always notices.
The untouched plates. The exhaustion in your eyes. The way you locked yourself in the bathroom longer, stepping on the scale like it held your worth.
It all boiled over when he found you collapsed on the couch, gym clothes soaked in sweat, chest rising too fast.
He kneels beside you, eyes burning. “Why?” His voice is soft, but pained.
Tears spill before you can stop them. “Because Zoey looks better with you. Everyone thinks so. I’m not enough, Mystery.”
Something flickers in his gaze — anger, grief, love all at once. His hand cups your cheek, thumb trembling. “Do you know what I see when I look at Zoey? A friend. Do you know what I see when I look at you?”
He leans closer, eyes so intense you can’t look away. “Home. My reason. The only person I want in every version of eternity.”
Your breath hitches as he presses his forehead to yours, holding you like glass.
“Don’t measure yourself against her. You’re the only one I can’t live without. Please stop hurting yourself. Let me love you the way you deserve.”
For the first time in weeks, you let yourself break in his arms. And he doesn’t let go.
🌀 BABY
Baby pretends he doesn’t see the comments, but he does. He knows you do, too. The same ones comparing Zoey’s slim figure pressed close to him at the fan meet with “how mismatched” you must look beside him.
When you start avoiding meals, Baby notices. When he hears the treadmill late at night, he notices.
But what breaks him is catching you pinching at your stomach in the mirror, whispering, “Not enough yet.”
“Hey.” His voice cracks. You spin around, startled, but Baby is already moving, already pulling you into his chest.
You struggle weakly. “If I can just—if I can look better—”
“Stop it.” His hands cradle your face, almost desperate. “Do you know what kills me? Watching you believe lies. Zoey’s just our sunbae. A friend. But you?” His lips brush your hairline, his whisper fierce. “You’re the only person who can make me feel alive. Do you get that?”
You choke back a sob as his thumb wipes away your tears.
“I don’t want someone perfect. I want you. All of you. Please…don’t disappear trying to be someone else.”
He stays pressed against you until your shaking slows, until the weight of his words replaces the one you’ve been carrying alone.
🌷 ROMANCE
Romance knew the second you started saying “I’m not hungry” with that too-sweet smile. He also knew the second you pushed yourself in the living room, body trembling after endless sit-ups, refusing to stop even when your arms shook.
He didn’t call you out immediately. He waited for you to come to him. But one night, he found you crying quietly in the kitchen, dinner untouched.
He calls out your name like it’s fragile. “Please talk to me.”
You shake your head, wiping your cheeks. “Mira looked perfect with you. Fans were right. You should be with someone like her, not—”
Romance doesn’t let you finish. He kneels in front of you, slipping his hands into yours, eyes glossy. “Don’t ever say that again. Do you know what my fans told me that day? That I looked happy. And they were right, but not because of Mira. Because I knew I’d come home to you.”
Your chest tightens as he kisses your knuckles, slow and deliberate.
“You’re not just ‘good enough’. You’re every song I’ve ever wanted to write. You’re the reason I can stand on that stage and smile like it’s real. Please don’t hurt yourself trying to erase the person I’d choose over anyone else every time.”
His voice cracks on the last word, and you find yourself clinging to him, letting his warmth anchor you.
🍿 ABBY
At the fan meet, Mira leaned into Abby during a playful game, and fans went wild. You saw the clips flood online — #MirAbby trending, edits of their “chemistry” already surfacing.
So you pushed harder. Fewer meals. Longer workouts. Sweat dripping, heart racing until you nearly collapsed.
Abby finds you one evening, slumped on the gym floor.
“Babe!” He’s at your side in seconds, towel pressing to your forehead. His eyes are wide, frantic. “You’re burning yourself out. What the hell is this?”
You try to shrug him off. “If I can look more like Mira, maybe—”
“Stop.” His voice cuts sharp. Abby almost never sounds angry, but right now, his fear trembles beneath it.
“You think I want Mira?” His hand squeezes your wrist, grounding you. “Do you think she’s the one who makes me laugh until my stomach hurts? The one who texts me the dumbest memes at 3 a.m.? The one who’s stubborn enough to think they need to change for me? That’s you.”
He shifts, arms moving as he pulls you into his lap, cradling you like you’re breakable. “You don’t need to work yourself to death to be worth me. You already are. And if I hear you skipped another meal, I’ll personally cook and feed you until you give in.”
Despite your tears, you laugh weakly. “That sounds like a threat.”
“It is.” He presses his forehead to yours. “Because I love you too much to lose you.”
🎶 JINU
Jinu notices first in the silences.
You used to talk his ear off when he came home from schedules, filling the gaps with laughter and questions. But after the fan meet where the fans screamed his name alongside Rumi’s, your voice went quiet.
You thought you were careful. Skipping dinner by saying you ate already, pushing yourself until your lungs burned on the treadmill. But Jinu isn’t oblivious. He finds you one night leaning against the bathroom counter, shaky hands pressing down on the scale.
“Baby,” his voice is soft, but firm, pulling you back. “What are you doing?”
You can’t meet his eyes. “You…looked so good with Rumi. Everyone said it. She’s so pretty, and I—” Your voice cracks. “I don’t look like someone who should stand next to you.”
The silence that follows is heavy, but then his arms wrap around you, strong, grounding.
“Do you know what I told Rumi during that fan meet?” he asks, chin resting on your hair. “That I already have someone who makes me happier than anyone else. You. No one’s ship matters, because I’m already yours.”
He tilts your chin, forcing your teary eyes to meet his. “Don’t hurt yourself trying to erase the person I fell in love with. You’re it for me. Just you.”
He doesn’t let you weigh yourself again that night. Instead, he coaxes you into bed, wrapped tightly against his chest like he’s afraid you’ll slip away.

Can I request headcanons for the Saja Boys accidentally hearing gn s/o singing to yourself secretly his part in their song Soda Pop please? You loved the song but your singing is mediocre so you have no confidence to sing when he's there!
-Sing For Me-
⋆°𝄞The Saja Boys catch you singing their verse in a song𝄞°⋆
-°• Contents: a compilation of fluffy headcanons on how the Saja Boys would react to you singing their parts in a song.
-°• Warnings: Baby being a tease?
-°• Bribri Speaks!: thank you so much for this lovely request! I had a great time with it! I hope it’s ok that I also added ‘Your Idol’ in. If not, feel free to let me know! Enjoy!! ♡

Jinu Saja:
. ♬ ݁˖ When he returns home, exhausted from a long day, he hears your soft singing emanating from the kitchen. At first, he assumes you’ve put on some music to keep you company while he was away. However, when he hears your voice crack, he quickly realizes that it’s actually you singing.
. ♬ ݁˖ It’s then that he registers that the song your singing is actually his part in Soda Pop. A slight flush dusts his cheeks at the revelation. He felt honored—in an odd way—that you were singing his music.
. ♬ ݁˖ “Don't want you, need you, yeah, I need you to fill me up.”
. ♬ ݁˖ A grin graces his lips as he hears it, silently setting his things down and creeping to the kitchen. He didn’t want to interrupt this rare spectacle.
. ♬ ݁˖ Leaning against the wall, he continues to listen as you sing to yourself. He has never heard you sing before, hence why this was so exciting for him. He assumed it was because you were embarrassed to sing in front of a professional. However, he thinks that you sound like an angel.
. ♬ ݁˖ After a long beat of observation, he steps over to you, resting his chin on your shoulder. You yelp, frightened by his sudden presence, but he simply laughs it off, nuzzling your neck.
. ♬ ݁˖ “It’s actually pronounced 마시고, sweetheart. But you sounded good.”
. ♬ ݁˖ If you try to argue with his assessment, he’s clasping a hand over your mouth. He doesn’t want to hear any self-degrading comments. Anything that comes out of your mouth is magical to him.
. ♬ ݁˖ He’s definitely going to start coming home early in an attempt to catch you singing again.
Abby Saja:
. ♬ ݁˖ He had just returned from a run. He was drenched in sweat, chest heaving as he made his way through the house.
. ♬ ݁˖ He sought you out in the living room, finding you with your headphones in, singing his part in Your Idol. You’re dancing around the living room, blissfully unaware of his presence.
. ♬ ݁˖ “Keeping you in check, keeping you obsessed. Play me on repeat, 끝없이 in your head. Anytime it hurts, play another verse. I can be your sanctuary.”
. ♬ ݁˖ He actually squeals, not that you can hear him. He’s practically bouncing with excitement, his eyes glowing with stars.
. ♬ ݁˖ Though you stumble slightly over the Korean lyrics, your singing is still the most amazing thing to ever bless Abby’s ears.
. ♬ ݁˖ He discreetly pulls out his phone, recording the entirety of his verse, and ending it when you continue singing Mystery’s (he just liked you singing his parts). He sets the audio as his alarm for everything.
. ♬ ݁˖ When you’ve finished, he scampers over to you, yanking you back against him. Your feet dangle just above the ground, the air knocked from your lungs when he captures you.
. ♬ ݁˖ “Abby! I didn’t know you were home!”
. ♬ ݁˖ “You should sing more,” he says, refusing to acknowledge your exclamation. He was too caught up in the fact that he had just heard you singing his verse in a song.
. ♬ ݁˖ He’s never deleting that audio.
Baby Saja:
. ♬ ݁˖ When he comes home, tossing his jacket onto the couch, the last thing he expected to hear was your rapping. Not only that, but you were rapping his part in Soda Pop.
. ♬ ݁˖ “Uh, make me wanna flip the top, 한 모금에 you hit the spot. Every little drip and drop, fizz and pop, ah, 소름 돋아, it's gettin' hot!”
. ♬ ݁˖ You weren’t as fast as him, and you enunciation wasn’t perfect; mediocre at best. However, it still brought a smirk to his face.
. ♬ ݁˖ “What is that horrific screeching?”
. ♬ ݁˖ When you whirl around, face flushed at being caught, his smirk widens. He’s rather proud he managed to catch you so off guard.
. ♬ ݁˖ “You sound like Eminem if all his teeth fell out.”
. ♬ ݁˖ He’s teasing you mercilessly. He will never allow you to forget this humiliating moment. He’s ensuring it’s etched into your memory for eternity.
. ♬ ݁˖ Despite his endless taunting, he covertly enjoys the sound of your singing. He likes how you attempt his deep voice, even going as far as to reenact his dance moves.
. ♬ ݁˖ He prompts you to sing for him again a few days later, ignoring your groans and flushing cheeks.
. ♬ ݁˖ He’ll tease you the entire time, enjoying how your cheeks dust pink.
. ♬ ݁˖ Perhaps, if you’re lucky, he’ll even teach you his choreography.
Romance Saja:
. ♬ ݁˖ He’s just returned from a long concert, exhausted and wanting nothing more than to curl up in bed.
. ♬ ݁˖ However, his plans are quickly altered when he hears your voice emanating from the kitchen. You’re singing his verse in Your Idol.
. ♬ ݁˖ “Don't let it show, keep it all inside. The pain and the shame, keep it outta sight. Your obsession feeds our connection. 이 순간 give me all your attention.”
. ♬ ݁˖ He squeals like his whole worldview has been radically changed, a hand clutching his chest. He claps as though he’s just witnessed the most magical play of all time. This man is completely infatuated with your voice.
. ♬ ݁˖ Despite your instantaneous flushing, Romance strides over to you, squeezing you in a tight hug. He feels honored that you even listening to his music, let alone sing it.
. ♬ ݁˖ “My heart! I never knew you were so talented!”
. ♬ ݁˖ You really weren’t, and you knew that. However, Romance is adamant that you are the most melodious singer he had ever had the pleasure of listening to.
. ♬ ݁˖ He insists on duets. There’s absolutely no way out of them. If he even hears a hum, he’s joining in, his voice harmonizing with yours.
. ♬ ݁˖ He asks you for private concerts. He’ll sit back on the couch, watching as you perform. He occasionally records you, just so he can hear your voice in the event he’s far from home.
. ♬ ݁˖ Though it wasn’t the most melodious singing he had ever heard, it was beautiful to him.
Mystery Saja:
. ♬ ݁˖ He had been home all along, you just hadn’t realized it. He was quite good at skulking around in the shadows. It was a gift he typically employed when you were doing something embarrassing and he wanted to watch without your knowledge.
. ♬ ݁˖ So, when you began singing Your Idol, he sat back in the shadows, listening.
. ♬ ݁˖ “Know I'm the only one right now. I will love you more when it all burns down. More than power, more than gold. Yeah, you gave me your heart, now I'm here for your soul.”
. ♬ ݁˖ He was enraptured by the end of the first stanza. Sure, it wasn’t the most elegant singing he had ever heard, but it had an undeniable charm to it.
. ♬ ݁˖ Everything that came out of your mouth, every move you made, was art. He was enraptured by everything you do, even if he did so silently.
. ♬ ݁˖ When you begin singing a different song, he slips into the other room, not wanting to embarrass you. He knew you got easily flustered when it came to matters like this.
. ♬ ݁˖ Despite his sparing you from self-consciousness, he will most definitely ask you to sing for him later that night. He wants you to sing him to sleep. He hardly ever rests, so hearing your voice may just soothe him.
. ♬ ݁˖ You could sound like a dying camel, and he’d still want your voice to lull him to sleep.

Short!reader trying to kabedon them

🎀 Masterlist 💄 Request Guidelines
Jinu
You dart in front of him as he’s heading toward the kitchen, planting your hand against the wall right beside his shoulder. He stops short, eyebrows lifting, a faint smile already tugging at his lips. You bite your lip, trying to look daring, but Jinu only chuckles under his breath.
“You really think you can stop me with that?” His voice is smooth, teasing, like he’s humoring a child’s game. He leans a little closer, enough that you catch the warmth of his breath. “You’re lucky I don’t need snacks that badly.”
With that, he slides past you easily, barely brushing your shoulder, his smirk lingering like he’s already won whatever game you thought you were playing.
Romance
The moment you block him against the wall, he clutches his chest like he has been struck. “Oh no,” he gasps, sliding down the wall theatrically, “the short one has cornered me… what ever shall I do?” You roll your eyes, but his grin widens when you bite your lip at him.
He grabs your wrist, pulls you in close, and leans until your breath catches. “That little move you just pulled?” His voice drops, teasing yet sharp. “It was adorable.” He laughs, but you feel how his pulse has jumped.
Abby
You manage the slam against the wall with surprising force, blocking his path. Abby raises his brows, tilts his head down at you, and smirks like you’ve just challenged him. “What’s this supposed to be?” he drawls, though his eyes are flicking to your lip bite.
When you don’t back down, he steps forward so close you have to crane your neck. “Cute,” he says, brushing a thumb under your chin. “But you’re forgetting I’m taller. I win by default.”
Mystery
You trap him against the wall, lip caught between your teeth. He stares down, his face unreadable beneath the shadow of his hair. For a moment, it’s intimidating, until you remember you’re the one meant to be intimidating. He exhales, low, almost like he’s swallowing a laugh.
Then, without a word, he shifts and cages you against the wall instead. He leans close enough that your lip bite falters. “Nice try,” he mutters, voice rough. Still, the flush at the tips of his ears betrays him. He definitely wasn’t immune.
Baby
You nearly tiptoe to slam your hand against the wall beside him. He pauses mid-phone scroll, looking down with wide eyes. “What are you doing?” he asks, tone flat, but there’s a twitch at the corner of his lips. You bite your lip at him, dead serious.
For a moment, Baby just stares. Then he snorts, actually laughing. “You can’t even reach my shoulder properly,” he says, stepping aside. But when you grab his sleeve and hold tight, his laughter quiets. He mutters into his hand, hiding his face. “You’re ridiculous.”

(masterlist)
Word Count: 2.1k
The bus ride was uneventful, as usual. You headed up to your apartment, locking the door behind you and slipping off your shoes before pulling out your phone. You quickly shot off a text to Ari, letting her know you were home, and then did the same in the new group chat.
The boys immediately replied.
“Glad to hear it <3” Romance sent back first.
Baby sent a selfie of him getting his makeup done. He was sticking his tongue out and winking at the camera.
“So you don’t have to miss my face ;)” he sent along with the photo.
“Cocky :P” You sent back, stifling a laugh as you did.
A notification popped up from Ari. You clicked on it, taking you to her text thread instead.
“Glad to hear it! How were the boys? Were they nice to you??”
“They were,” you typed back as you headed into the living room and turned on the TV. “We're gonna hang out again soon, hopefully.”
“And Jinu? 👀”
Your phone buzzed as texts from the boys came in.
“Just got done with hair and makeup, how do I look?” Abby sent, along with a selfie. He was smirking at the camera. He had his head tilted up to show off his chiseled jaw with a hint of chest appearing at the bottom of the picture.
You quickly saved the picture to your phone and set it as his contact photo. Then you did the same with the picture Baby had sent earlier.
“You look great <3” you finally texted back before swapping back to your text with Ari. “Jinu was really nice. All of the boys were.”
“Did he flirt with you?” Ari fired back.
“Well…”
“Girl don't leave me in suspense!!”
“You know what polyamory is?”
Your phone immediately buzzed and you laughed before answering.
“Y/N yes I know what polyamory is-” Ari blurted out the second you picked up.
“Slow shop day huh?” You teased.
“It is, thank you for asking, but don't you try and distract me!” Ari chided. “So like, two of them are interested in you? Three? Are you into that? I need details!”
You laughed, a little more flustered now as you thought about what you'd learned today. “Um, okay, so it's all five of them-”
“Seriously??”
“Yes. I find it a bit hard to believe, too, but,” you sighed softly. “I mean, I'm interested in them, and they said they were interested in me. They paid for my food and walked me to the bus stop and waited with me. Also Romance kissed the back of my hand when we said goodbye which was actually really sweet?”
“And they seemed serious?” Ari checked. “You know I trust your judgement, but as your bestie I need to know how many shovel talks to give.”
You felt your heart unclench as you laughed. Even though you knew Ari would never judge your sexuality or choices in partner(s), it still felt relieving to hear her say it aloud. “Yes they were. We're not rushing into things, so it's not like we have a label for it yet, but I'm excited.”
“Ah!! I'm so excited for you too,” Ari squealed. “You tell me if one of them steps out of line, though. I don't care that there's five of them or that they're idols in the making, I'll kick their asses.”
“You could take ‘em,” you said with a grin.
“Damn right I could!” Ari laughed. “Alright, I probably shouldn't stay on the phone. Don't forget to record the variety show in case I miss some tonight.”
“Will do! I was just about to set up the TV now,” you replied, fiddling with the remote. “I'll see you tonight, ok? Text me when you're on your way home.”
“Of course girl, talk to you later!”
Once you had the TV set to record the show, you checked the time. You still had an hour before the variety show was going to be on, so you decided to prep your dinner.
“We just went through mic checks,” Jinu texted the group.
“Our outfits are very pink,” Mystery sent after, with a photo attached. It showed half of his head, covered by his hair like usual, but was primarily aimed over his shoulder. Behind him you saw each of the boys in individual chairs. Baby was on his phone, Jinu was talking to a crew member, and Abby and Romance were both posing for the camera. Abby was flexing and Romance was blowing a kiss.
Aaaand another photo saved to your phone.
Since they'd already sent you three pictures, you decided to send one of your own.
You were currently chopping some green onions to add to your ramyeon, you liked to make your instant noodles feel fancy after all. You held your camera up, making sure to get yourself and the chopping board in it before snapping the picture.
“prepping my dinner for tonights show~”
Romance and Abby immediately hearted your photo, while Baby reacted with a winky face.
“Wait how did you guys heart the picture?” Jinu texted.
“Baby just stole Jinu's phone,” Mystery sent shortly after that.
You smiled and propped your phone up on the counter so you could easily read their texts as you put the last touches on your ramyeon.
As you grabbed your drink and bowl and shuffled over to the couch, the group chat finally settled down.
“Okay we have to put our phones on silent now. Hope you enjoy the show :)” Jinu sent.
“When I wink at the camera, just know that's for you ;)” Abby sent after, before the group chat went quiet.
You pulled up your text thread with Ari. “Did you remember to change the channel at work?”
“I did! You ready to see your boys on TV?” Ari replied. “I wonder if they'll do the spicy challenge tonight.”
“Ooh I hope they do!”
The familiar theme song started to play on the TV, drawing your attention. “Good evening everyone! Are you ready to Play Games With Us?” The announcer said as the auto tune played over their words.
The audience went wild. “Then give it up for tonight's guests, the Saja Boys!”
The audience cheered, chanting “In the balls!” as the five boys slid down the slides into the waiting ball pit below.
Once the boys were all introduced and asked if they were excited, the host dove right into the first game. Each boy took a turn being blindfolded and had to guess the flavors of the sodas they were drinking. Two of the drinks got pranked by the host, but they were randomly chosen so none of the boys knew who was going to get it.
Mystery ended up winning by getting not only all of his drinks correct, but also correctly guessing what was in his drink that was pranked (it was soy sauce).
The second game was a trivia game about other famous boy bands, but if they got the question wrong they had to reach inside of a box and touch a mystery object. You laughed when Abby freaked out at touching a block of jello. You rewound and recorded the clip with your phone, sending it to the group chat with a laughing emoji.
The final game ended up being the spicy challenge, which you and Ari chatted about excitedly, betting on who you think would hold out. While you did think Mystery would last longer, you weren't surprised when Baby ended up winning, looking totally unphased.
Of course, you lost it when he deadpan said, “Goo goo ga ga.”
What really threw you through a loop was when Huntr/x made a sudden appearance. Leather on slide sounds not withstanding, you weren't sure why you felt on edge seeing them next to your boys.
And then you noticed them glaring, and a flash of a smirk on Baby's face (the others had their backs to the camera when it happened).
“What the hell did y'all do to piss off Huntr/x? I didn't even know they were gonna be on the show tonight.” You texted the group chat as the two bowed to each other and the show ended.
You took the time to clean up your dinner, now that the show was over, while also doing some other dishes and tidying up the kitchen a little. You hadn't been concerned that the boys hadn't replied, as you figured they had some post-show stuff to do. Now, though, it'd been at least 45 minutes since the show ended.
Why did you have a pit in your stomach? They were five, grown men. They weren't in any sort of danger just heading home from a TV shoot.
Instead of giving in to the urge to pace, you decided to go take a shower.
The steam helped relieve the tension you'd been holding in your body. What were you so concerned about? Yes you cared about them, but you'd only known them for a day (or two for Jinu) and not everyone checked their phones constantly.
When you finally turned off the water and began towel drying your hair, you saw your phone screen light up from where it was sitting on the countertop.
Once you had your hair up and your body wrapped in a towel, you finally picked up your phone.
You had two texts from Ari letting you know she was getting off work soon, followed by her saying she was on her way home. The other texts were from the boys.
“Sorry we got hung up backstage,” Abby sent.
“The Huntr/x girls didn't bother us,” Mystery sent at the same time.
And the reason your phone lit up was because of a text from Romance.
“We just got back to our place for the evening. We would love to meet up with you tomorrow <3”
Something about the first two texts still had you on edge, and you found yourself hitting the call button on the first person you clicked without thinking. Just as you registered what you'd done, Romance answered.
“Hello darling.”
“Ah, sorry, I shouldn't have called without asking,” you blurted out, flustered. “I know some people don't like that. I was just- I don't know I wanted to make sure you guys were okay which is weird because you're clearly fine-”
“Hey,” Romance interrupted, his voice soft. “It's fine. I could never be upset at the chance to hear your voice.”
You let out a breath you didn't realize you'd been holding. “That's very sweet Romance.”
“It's just the truth, I promise,” he said. “Now what were you concerned about?”
You padded into your bedroom as you spoke. “It's silly. I don't know. I just- I love Huntr/x. I went to their concert a few nights ago! So I don't know why seeing them next to you guys set me on edge. And it wasn't jealousy, either. I was- I felt scared for you guys.”
There was a pause on the other side of the line. You ended up barrelling on. “I know it's ridiculous-”
“Sorry, Baby was trying to steal the phone from me,” Romance said with a strained chuckle. “It’s not as ridiculous as you may think. It's complicated, but I promise we're okay. They won't hurt us.”
That settled something inside of you, despite it raising quite a few questions at the same time.
You pursed your lips. “Will you guys explain that more eventually?”
“Of course we will,” Romance reassured. “Now, would you like to meet up tomorrow? Perhaps we could go grab coffee in the morning?”
You smiled. “That'd be nice. I have to go to work tomorrow, anyway. There's a cute cafe not far from my job. I can text you the address if you'd like?”
“Please do darling,” he replied. “Just let us know the time to-”
His words cut off with a stifled gasp.
“Is Baby trying to steal the phone again?” You teased lightly.
“Ah, I'm sorry,” Romance replied, voice sounding strained. “I have to go. We'll see you in the morning, I promise.”
And before you could reply, the line went dead.
You stared at the screen for a moment, your heart rate picking up. It was such an odd way to end a phone call, but maybe one of the boys had been messing with him?
Before your thoughts could spiral further, you heard the front door open. You slipped on the rest of your pajamas and headed back out into the living room to catch up with Ari.
Everything was fine, surely. You sent the group chat the location and time and slipped your phone back into your pocket.
You'd see them in the morning.
Everything was fine.

JINU ミ★
he never meant for it to happen the way it did, he was angry and hurt. you opened the door, calling out his name. he didnt answer, only staring over at you with big and gold eyes. youre frozen, a part of you wants to scream at the thing that is standing right in front of you, while the other aches to hold jinu close.
“youre ... beautiful.“
ミ★ he was going to tell you - eventually.
ミ★ hes ashamed of himself, tried to push you away
ミ★ almost cries when the words leave your mouth, your hands sitting just right on his cheeks and thumbs rubbing smooth circles
ミ★ “im not. Im really not, you have no idea who i am- what i am.“ hes stammerimg, pulling away
ミ★ when you pull him back, its his green light that you want him to stay. you want him to stay, all of him.
ミ★ hes latching onto you, cradaling your head into his body, trying to convince himself that you still love him.

ミ★ your touches linger, reminding him that youll always be there, no matter human or demon
ABBY ᯽
he didnt think you were around, but when you popped by his apartment with surprise snacks and popcorn. he froze, your eyes trailing down the lavander shade of his skin and deeper marks. hes immediately flying towards you, the snacks discarded on the ground and arms wrapping around your smaller body. hes apologizing more times than he coild breathe. when he pulls back and moves your hair gently with his claw, your lips move.
“its beautiful, in its own way.“
᯽he breaks himself apart for days afterwards
᯽you only get his human form, but you love him regardless
᯽ he needs reminders, when he comes tovlate at night just for the reassurance that you truly dont hate him
᯽when hes okay, he allows himself a little more grace about when hes in demon form but ALWAYS asks you if its okay
᯽when hes human again, and youre a bit upset that he doesnt let loose, his immediate thought is if you like him enough still
᯽still needs reassurance
᯽yes his muscles are still there in demon form
᯽when hes COMPLETELY comfortable, its comfy
᯽thrives off your constant compliments and subtle touches
᯽calls you the most beautiful and it ends up being a constant banter!
ROMANCE ❥
it happens when he gets upset, he goes for a walk and blows off some steam, and the pent up feelings only come off when hes relaxed in his natural form. he didnt know, that you followed him. you gasp, and he turned. your bodies freeze, but within a few moments, hes got you wrapped in his arms. his hand holding your head to his chest. when he pulls you away, his hands cradle your face, and hes asking you to understand.
"i do... i find you quite beautiful."
❥hes stopling everything, the moist air of the alleyway you caught him in tightening
❥“are you sure? I mean, beauty cant be found anywhere else with you around“
❥hes flirting everything off
❥your looks? hes staring right back and making it OBVIOUSSSS
❥he loves dancing with you, keeping his black robes on and mourning hat askew on the counter
❥knowing that you love it, hes doing whatever it takes to keep it that way
❥you explain that you also love his human side, so he splits time evenly
❥makes himself a little more subtle with his love when hes human, but never a secret from the world
❥he thinks you made a mistake choosing to stay, but even his demon heart aches when youre not around
❥he mightve brushed your words off in the moment, but when he sees himself in the mirror, he needs to replay them to remind himself he belongs within 20 feet of your goddess of a person.
MYSTERY ☁︎︎
he told you, hands clasped behind his back, claws ready to bring your soul. he couldnt bare staring at the horrified look in your eyes when his true form showed. with his hand raised, eyes squeezed tight behind his bangs, he couldnt see that you reached up for his wrist, pulling it down gently. your fingers danced up his sleeve, feeling the material of the robes.
“dont, let me accept this beauty you are.“
☁︎︎hes shocked you didnt even question, his quivering lip quickening.
☁︎︎he holds you tighter than his human form ever could, letting out quiet and guilty hiccups
☁︎︎“im so sorry, i thought youd leave, hate me- you cant possibly think this is beautiful.“ hes muttering into your hair
☁︎︎you allow him to adjust on his own, finding it odd that you want him to walk around like that.
☁︎︎he lays in bed mostly, never up and around when hes in his true form, afraid someone is looking through the curtains.
☁︎︎you tell him that you love and find both sides beautiful, hes relaxing more
☁︎︎his biggest emotiom is confused, how and why this all happened between you two
☁︎︎but hes fine as long as you come to him with open arms
BABY ఌ
it came out on purpose, but he set it up like an accident. it annoyed him more to lie to you, when he realized he truly loved you. seeing him against the higher balcony in your building, back towards you. he acted shocked when he saw the wide eyed look in the eyes he fell in love with. he felt genuine hurt, but didnt move, he let you gravitate towards him. you push the hat up his head a bit, looking around his form.
“how long were you hiding this beautiful self?“
ఌtaken way aback by it at first
ఌdoesnt take it, hes questioning your ever word and decision
ఌ“you really want this? no you dont, this isnt who you loved.“
ఌnever accepts it really, but obliged to your requesting of staying in the form
ఌits easier for him, so he will be in it 24/7 in your privacy, but humanly around the rest of the world
ఌyou still hold his hand when walkimg the streets
ఌbrings up the fact that you still act like you love him because he genuinely believes no one can love such a thing like him
ఌanother big reassurance baby
ఌputs a lot of pressure on himself about it, about making you happy.

Hello Hey!
I would like to request a fanfic of maybe fans guessing on who y/n is dating from the Saja Boys.
Guessing Games
Saja Boys x Rumi’s Sister! Reader
Synopsis: It’s been going on for a while, fans have been debating who you were dating ever since that fan sign event between Huntr/x and the Saja Boys. You guys decide to make a game of the reveal.
TW: Fluff, comedy, hugs, messing with the fans.
Word Count: 0.8k
Master List || KPDH Request Master List
(Reminder: Baby = Jum, Romance = Chungae, Mystery = Hyeon, Abby = Kwan)
“Hi, thank you so much for coming! Who should I make this out to?” You smiled at the teen girl in front of you, grabbing her poster of choice.
You, your boys, and your three sisters were doing a joint fan signing event to promote the upcoming world tour you were all going to go on—your first joint tour. The hype for it was already through the stratosphere—fans were going feral for it—but it was a good excuse to have more joint events with you, the girls, and the Saja Boys. The boys were especially happy to have more events with you.
“Here you go,” You gave the girl the signed poster, but you had a few more seconds before the line moved along. “That’s a cute shirt, did you make it?”
The girl nodded rapidly, moving the poster out of the way so you could see the full design. It was you and Hyeon sitting atop a crescent moon with your ship name beneath it. “Yeah! I totally support your relationship with Mystery! It’s super adorable!”
Your mind took a moment to catch up but you were on autopilot as you thanked her and she was shuffled over to talk to Kwan. Kwan leaned down to whisper to you out of the corner of his mouth, “Isn’t that the fourth one today?”
You nodded, smiling and greeting the next fan.
Yeah, the fans were kind of at war with each other. So many were arguing about which boy you were dating. There was a unanimous agreement that you were dating someone in the Saja Boys, the fans just couldn’t decide which one.
It kind of became a game within your group. At fan events like this, you would take a tally of how many fans thought you were with which Saja Boy and you all would bet on which of the boys would have the most tallies.
Later that day, after the event and sharing the tally scores, you all were lounging around the boys’ apartment. “Should we do a dating reveal? If we do it right, we could make more chaos before the reveal?” Chungae asked.
Zoey sat up, “Oh, you mean one of those guess who she’s dating videos?!”
Jinu nodded, “It would be nice to make it official official.” It would also tell the world that you were no longer single.
Rumi looked over, “Okay, I’ll let Bobby know so he can be ready with the PR team.” She was already texting the man in your group chat, Bobby quickly sending a thumbs up back to let you all know that he got it.
The next time you all had a live performance together to tease the tour, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey followed you around with their phones as you hunted down the guys. They knew that the video was coming but you all hugged on a regular basis so it wasn’t weird for you to randomly go up to them for hugs.
Jinu wrapped his arms around your waist, pressing a kiss to your head and holding you close for a long moment until he reluctantly pulled away when he was called over to do makeup.
Kwan had been practicing choreo but grinned and wrapped his arms around you, lifting you up with his thick arms and laughing as you giggled. You wrapped your legs around his hips for support as he squeezed you until he patted your back to let you know he had to go back to what he was doing and you all moved on.
Hyeon smiled softly, wrapping his arms around you and tucking his face in the crook of your neck, closing his eyes as he breathed in your scent. You giggled when he refused to let you go for a long while, even when he was called to do makeup. His pout was visible as the two of you separated. That clip was later sped up so the video wouldn’t be too long.
Chungae grinned when you held your arms out for him from a distance. He ran up, scooping you up into his arms and swinging you in a circle, grinning at your delighted laugh as he held you and swayed you back and forth in his arms. He pressed a quick kiss to your cheek before hurrying to makeup.
Jum’s expression didn’t change except for a little uptick of his lips as he reciprocated your hug. He closed his eyes and leaned his cheek against the side of your head as you two stood there for a long moment. Not one for a lot of PDA, he pulled away after that but offered you some of your favorite candy before he had to go meet the others at makeup.
You even went to go hug Bobby for laughs, the man surprised but delighted at your hug. He hugged you back briefly before starting to usher you and the other girls to makeup.
When the video was posted, the internet devolved into chaos as fans voted for which they thought you were dating based on the hugs. Back and forth the debate went, no fan giving up ground.
The internet broke when you posted a video of each of the boys kissing you a week later to announce your relationship with all of them.
Outtakes:
…
*during a mission*
You: “Look, I’m glad everyone’s on the same page.”
You: “But it’s the last page in a book titled “we’re all going to die”.”
Your Idiots: “That’s not even clever.”
…
Mira: *looks over Zoey’s shoulder at her laptop* “What the fuck?”
Zoey: *slams screen shut* “It’s just research! For something I’m writing about! I swear that’s it!”
Mira: “Why the hell would that involve the breeding habits of frogs?”
Zoey: “It’s not just “frogs”, it’s the Surinam Toad. And it’s not “breeding habits”, it’s how they raise their young. This is important information my audience needs to know!”
Mira: “That doesn’t change the fact this is for one line in a fanfiction.”
Zoey: *offended* “You don’t know that!”
Mira: “I hear no denial.”
…
*Before*
Gwi Ma: “But seriously, what is the real plan here that has to do with not fucking around?”
Jinu: “There is no plan that does not involve fucking around. But we will make sure all of our fucking around will be applied in a constructive direction.”

Hihii not the orignal asker but the plushies n saja boys was cute!! So I was wondering/thought of an idea about a part 2 maybe like the aftermath in the morning where the reader wakes up and sees them all snuggled up so they find where the plushies are (sneaking out of their gasp for mystery's) and putting them besides the corresponding saja and they would take a picture of themselves and the sajas still asleep to then setting it as their new background as the sajas would be waking up!
If done thank you in advance!! :D 💝
Of course Anon! I tweaked it juuuust a little bit for the end, but here you go! (Would you like to claim the heart emoji you used or was that just something you added to be sweet??)
Discarded Plushies and Slow Mornings
Part Two of this ask!
Pairing: Poly!Saja x Fem!Reader
Genre: fluff
warnings: none. Spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, fluff, boys cuddling.
Ask: Part two of the Plushie ask
It was the next morning.
Sunlight filtered through the askew curtains, casting the room in a faint, golden glow. The light streaked across your face, disturbing your otherwise peaceful slumber. You groaned quietly, not quite ready to wake up yet. And as you moved to roll over, you found you couldn’t. Huh? You blinked your eyes open, yawning as you tried to clear your blurry vision. As the sleep faded from your mind, the awareness of a weight on your chest became more prominent. Looking down, a mess of black hair greeted you. Sometime in the night Jinu had moved so he was lying on your chest, face turned toward your breasts. You chuckled softly, lazily setting a hand down on his head and mindlessly playing with his hair.
On your left was Abby, who was buried in your neck and snoring softly, warm breathing tickling the back of your ear. Mystery was curled into your abdomen, mouthing subconsciously at the exposed skin from where your top had ridden up in the night. Romance was behind you, arms wrapped around your torso to pull you closer into his chest. His breathing was deep and even, a testament to his unconscious state. Baby had somehow gotten underneath you, so you were lying on his torso and using him as a pillow.
Slow mornings like this were something you lived for. Because here, lying in bed, your boys weren’t the idols everyone thirsted over. They weren’t the demons being mentally tortured by Gwi-Ma. They were just your boys. Just broken men needing some love. And you had more than enough love to give them. So much so that it poured out of you in every way possible.
And while all you wanted to do was to stay here, wrapped in their love, you really had to pee. So somehow, you needed to get out of this cuddle puddle and make it to the bathroom. Slowly you started sitting up, gently nudging Jinu’s head so it rested on Baby’s chest. You pried Romance’s arms off of you, swiftly replacing your body with a pillow. For Mystery, you shifted him so he was on Jinu instead. And for Abby, you lent him to Romance.
Finally free from the pile, you climbed out of bed and stretched with a soft yawn, your bare feet softly padding across the floor and carrying you to the bathroom. On your way though, you stepped on something soft and squishy. Looking down, it was revealed to be the Mystery plush you had fallen asleep with last night. Seeing it sparked a realization in you, and so you turned to look back at the bed. Lo and Behold, the plushies you had bought were tossed off the bed, lying forgotten on the floor.
Shaking your head with a small chuckle, you continued toward the bathroom where you did your business and brushed your teeth, washing your face as well. When you walked back into the bedroom, ready to get your morning fix of caffeine, you had to consciously remind yourself to be quiet when you laid eyes upon the boys. Because with you now gone, they had all somehow gotten ahold of each other and were now cuddling in some shape or form. Jinu was being spooned by Baby, Mystery was curled over Abby’s abdomen, and Romance was snoozing into Jinu’s back.
Deciding the moment needed to be frozen in time, you quietly tip—toed over to the bedside drawer and grabbed your phone, swiping right to the camera app. After making sure your flash was off and the camera wouldn’t make a noise when taking a photo, you quickly took a picture of the newly formed cuddle pile and immediately made it your home screen, smiling at the sight.
Yeah, you really loved slow mornings.

They’ve seen multiple lifetimes. The older the soul, the more powerful they are up until a point- there comes a time when a soul reaches its epitome and moves on after their death, their final experience.

It turned out the restaurant was just a few blocks walk away. Somehow, you ended up walking in the middle of the group of boys, making small talk as you went.
“So how long have you lived in Seoul?” Abby asked first.
“Since I went off to university,” you replied. “My family’s from a couple hours outside of the city.” You shrugged. “Seoul has always appealed to me, and I got accepted into a good school. I’ve just stayed ever since.” You looked between them. “What about you all?”
“Abby’s from around here originally,” Romance answered. “The rest of us are from all over.”
“Then how did you guys meet?”
“It was sort of… happenstance?” Abby said, looking to one of the other guys for back-up.
Baby sighed. “Mystery and Abby knew each other first. The rest of us fell into place through online circles and mutual friends.” His eyes glanced over at you before back at his phone. “Jinu is the one who brought us together.”
You smiled. “It’s nice to think about things like that, how just a few circumstances lead to new friendships.”
“That’s a very poetic way to think,” Romance agreed with a smile. “If we hadn’t met, we might not have had the chance to meet you.”
If you’d heard that from any other guy you’d just met, especially amongst his group of friends, you’d probably cringe.
You didn’t feel that way, though. You liked how poetic it sounded. It felt right.
You smiled at Romance. “That’s true.”
You heard the jingle of a bell and realized you’d gotten to the restaurant, and Mystery was holding the door open. You thanked him and he nodded at you as you all stepped inside.
Romance stepped up to the hostess and smiled at her. “Table for six please.”
The hostess smiled back, giving him and the group a once over.
Why did that irk you? It’s not like they were yours-
“Of course, right this way.”
You were shown to a table in the corner that was half booth, half chairs. Somehow, you ended up on the booth side right between Abby and Baby, with the other three boys across from you.
“Order whatever you want,” Jinu said as you picked up the menu. “It's our treat.”
“You don't have to do that,” you protested lightly.
“We insist,” Romance said softly, one hand on his chest.
“Besides, we're good for it,” Baby added, glancing up from his phone for a moment.
You smiled. “Well, thank you. That's very kind.”
You all took a moment to order your food and drinks. Once the waitress had walked away, you noticed Abby shift out of the corner of your eye and realize he's stretched his arm along the back of the seat behind you.
The other boys clearly noticed, but none of them seem phased by it.
“So what time do you guys need to head to set for the show?”
“Ah we got time,” Abby reassured. “A couple hours at least.”
“They want us there by 4,” Jinu explained. “It's not far from here, either, so we're not in a rush.”
“That's really cool. Have you guys been on TV before?”
“Not exactly,” Romance answered. “Though I'm sure it won't be much different than performing for a crowd.”
“Yeah that's fair,” you said with a laugh.
“What about you?” Jinu asked. “Ever been on TV before?”
“Not that I know of. Unless I was accidentally in the back of a news broadcast once,” you answered.
“So what do you do for work?” Baby asked, propping his elbow on the table so he could lean his head on it, looking at you.
“Nothing as exciting as making music,” you answered dismissively. “But I don't hate my job at least.”
As you continued with the small talk, you noticed the boys were slowly leaning in more. Baby's thigh was now resting against yours. Abby hadn't moved his arm. Now at least one of them had their shoes bumped up against yours.
You weren't exactly pulling back, either. It wasn't until the waiter came by with your food, making you sit up straight, that you realized your hand had drifted closer to where Jinu's was on the table.
You swore you saw a look of disappointment cross Jinu's face as you pulled back, but it was gone so fast you couldn't be certain.
“Baby, sit up at least for your food,” Jinu chided gently as everyone got situated to eat.
Baby rolled his eyes, but sat up straighter, his thigh pushing against yours as he did. Your gaze darted down for a moment, as if some part of you was expecting to feel discomfort at being so touchy with someone you barely knew.
And yet the feeling never came.
Were these boys always this touchy feely maybe?
“So, do any of you have girlfriends?” You found yourself asking without thinking. “Or, partners, I should say. I shouldn't assume.”
The five boys glanced at each other. “No, none of us are dating right now,” Jinu answered after a moment.
“We are interested in someone,” Mystery said nonchalantly.
You noticed some of the boys giving him a look, but you were too focused on him to care. “Oh yeah? How's that going?”
“Well, I don't think she realizes she's on a date right now,” Mystery replied, tilting his head as he looked at you.
It took a second to process.
“Wait me?” You asked in disbelief.
Mystery rested his arms on the table, leaning forward slightly. “Do you not feel it, too?”
You must've waited too long to answer, because Jinu rushed to say, “It's okay if you don't. We're not here to pressure you or anything-”
“I thought we agreed to not scare her off,” Baby snapped, leaning in and glaring at Mystery.
But Mystery wasn't phased. They were still looking at you, waiting.
“No, no, I… I do feel something.” You finally said, putting your hands out in a placating manner. Jinu relaxed slightly and Baby sighed, also leaning back, though he was still glaring at Mystery. “I've been brushing it off, but even at the mall I felt… drawn to you guys? I just thought, at first, that I was attracted to you all, but then I keep having these random thoughts.”
Baby turned his head to look at you, a slight smirk on his face. “What kind of thoughts?”
You blushed. “Nothing inappropriate but like, when my friend Ari mentioned me setting her up with one of Jinu's friends, I got jealous. Which I thought was weird because I'm not the jealous type and also I didn't even know you guys yet.”
You looked over at Romance. “Or like when the waitress smiled at you earlier? She gave you a once over, and I just-”
“Got jealous again?” Baby finished, his smirk teasing.
You huffed out a breath at his jab. “Okay, but you guys knew about this? What is it?”
Romance put his elbows on the table, folding his hands together and resting his chin atop them. “What are your thoughts on the concept of soulmates?”
“I mean, I’ve heard of the idea, but mainly as a metaphor or in books and stuff,” you replied. “That’s a real thing?”
“We only knew about it through stories, as well,” Romance continued. “However, based on some of the stories and how they described soulmates, this well fits the description.”
Jinu nodded. “The five of us, since we met, have felt drawn together and we were never really sure why… Until we met you.”
Abby shrugged. “It just makes sense.”
“Most written cases of soulmates are just portrayed as deep love stories, ‘love at first sight’,” Romance explained. “But some people documented what it felt like, comparing it to other feelings of love they’d experienced in life, and they all described it similarly.”
“Like magnets,” Abby said.
“A moth to a flame,” Baby added, sounding disinterested despite the glint in his eyes.
“I felt like I couldn’t look away…” you admitted softly. You felt a hand settle on top of yours. Looking up, you met Jinu’s gaze.
“We don’t want or need to rush,” he reassured you. “If at any point you feel uncomfortable with anything, don't be afraid to tell us, and we'll do the same.”
You nodded. “I mean, I really just want to keep getting to know you guys. When we go on another date, will it always be all six of us together? Not that I wouldn't want to be, of course.”
You noticed the way Baby smirked at the when instead of if.
“I mean not always,” Abby started. “Some of us may be a little jealous,” he looked at Baby who glared at him.
“As if you wouldn't-”
“But, not jealous in a bad way,” Abby continued, fully ignoring Baby's outburst.
“Having the pleasure of getting to know you one on one is a privilege,” Romance agreed.
You smiled at that, your stomach fluttering in excitement. “Let me give you all my number, then, so we don't just have to talk through Instagram DMs.”
The five boys passed their phones around, adding their contact into your phone as you added yours into theirs. Once it was done, Baby quickly formed a group text.
You all took the time to finish eating, continuing your small talk until Jinu finally grabbed the check.
“How far is your place from here?” Abby asked.
“Not too far by bus, and the bus stop is just down the block.”
Jinu offered his hand to you as you shimmied out of the booth. You smiled and took it so he could help you stand up. “Are you heading back home after this?”
You shrugged. “Yeah probably. Ari's at work and you guys need to go on set, so.” You shrugged. “I'll go home and get the TV setup to watch your show tonight.”
“We'll walk you to the bus stop and wait with you, then,” Abby said.
“You guys don't have to wait with me-”
“We want to,” Mystery said, not leaving room for argument.
You had to admit, while you felt pretty safe in Seoul, being surrounded by five guys made the walk much more relaxing.
“So how long do you have to be on set tonight?” You asked as you made it to the bus stop. You checked your phone, the bus would be here in 10 minutes, so you wouldn't have to worry about the boys being late.
“The show starts at 6, so we have a lot of prep time before then.” Jinu explained. “Mostly hair, makeup, and wardrobe, but also audio checks and general setup so we know what to expect.”
“We shouldn't be there too late,” Baby said. “The show only lasts like an hour.”
“How far is your guy's place from here? Wait, do you guys live together?” You asked.
“We do. Our place is on the northern side, not too far either,” Abby said.
Baby smirked. “You'll have to come see it sometime.”
Jinu elbowed him and Baby squawked in indignation. You laughed at their antics just as the familiar sound of the bus grew closer.
Romance suddenly turned to you, grabbing your hand and lightly kissing the back of it. “Safe travels home.”
“Yeah, text us when you get there,” Baby agreed.
You blushed lightly at Romance's gesture. “Will do,” you replied. “I had a lovely time.”
“We'll have to do it again soon,” Abby said with a wink.
“Have fun on the show tonight. I'll be watching!”
You waved bye to the boys as you boarded the bus, scanning your pass and settling in near the window as you watched them fade into the distance.
Oh man you couldn't wait to tell Ari.

MYSTERY ROMANCE
Romance had waited quietly. He never pushed, never asked you to stop looking at Mystery. He just stayed by your side, filling the silence with gentle chatter, giving you a shoulder when you needed it.
One evening, long after the ache dulled, you caught yourself looking at him differently. You were walking home together, the glow of the streetlights painting his face warm. He was rambling about some silly thing the fans said online, laughing at himself.
And you realized, he was your safe place.
You stopped, tugging his sleeve. He turned, brows raised.
“What is it?”
Your throat tightened, but you forced it out. “I don’t think about him anymore. Not the way I used to.”
Romance blinked, stunned. Then his lips curved slowly, almost disbelieving. “So who do you think about now?”
You smiled faintly. “You.”
For once, Romance had no clever words, no flirty remarks. He just pulled you into his arms, burying his face against your neck, laughter trembling with relief.
He whispers, lips lightly brushing your skin. “I would’ve waited forever.”
ABBY BABY
Baby always teased you. It was his way of keeping things light when you were drowning. But when the tears dried, when your smiles stopped shaking, he never left.
Tonight, the two of you sat on the dorm’s rooftop, legs dangling over the edge. Baby tossed you a bag of chips and smirked. “Not crying over Abby anymore, huh?”
You rolled your eyes, but your laugh was real this time. “Not for a long time.”
He studied you quietly, rare for him. “So where does that leave me?”
You tilted your head. “You mean...you still—”
“Yeah. I’m still here.” Baby leaned closer, grin flickering but eyes serious. “I’ve been here. Every damn step. And I’d keep being here.”
A small smile made its way to your lips, gaze flicking down to your fingers as you suddenly felt shy. “I know. That’s why I think…I’d like to try with you. See where this goes.”
His bravado cracked in an instant. He swore under his breath before lifting your face to look up at him. He pressed his forehead to yours, a small chuckle escaping.
“Took you long enough,” he whispered, knuckles tracing your cheek. “But I swear you won’t regret it.”
JINU ABBY
Abby had always been louder than your grief. His hugs, his ridiculous jokes, his stubborn refusal to let you wallow too long — they became your lifeline.
You never noticed when the ache for Jinu faded. You only noticed the way Abby’s absence hurt when he was not around, probably busy with the demands of idol life.
One afternoon, he found you sprawled on your bedroom floor, staring at the ceiling.
“What, mourning again?”
“No.” You turned your head toward him. “Actually…I think I’m done mourning.”
Abby blinked. Then a grin tugged at his lips. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” You sat up, searching his face. “And maybe I was too busy hurting to notice the person who was right in front of me.”
His grin softened into something gentler. “Careful. Sounds like you’re confessing.”
“Maybe I am.”
For once, Abby didn’t tease. He crouched down, eyes steady, and pulled you into his arms.
“You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for you to say that.”
BABY JINU
Jinu gave you space to heal, holding you when it was too much, smiling when you thought you couldn’t. His patience was endless.
It was over tea in the same cafe where he found you that it happened. You were laughing — really laughing — at something he said, and he just looked at you, long enough for you to notice.
You tilted your head. “What?”
“Nothing.” He smiled faintly. “Just glad to see you happy again.”
You hesitated, then whispered, “You make me happy, Jinu. More than I realized.”
His breath caught, his hands tightening around his cup. “I mean, yeah, of course. We’re friends. I—”
“I want to try with you.”
Jinu blinked and then looked away for a moment. “If this is because of what I said before, I don't expect you to—”
“No, Jinu,” you giggled at how flustered he was. “I mean it.”
When he looked at you again, there was a tenderness you hadn’t seen before.
“I’ve been waiting,” he said softly. “And I’ll keep waiting, no matter how slow you want to go.”
You reached across the table, lacing your fingers with his. And for once, you weren’t thinking of Baby at all.
ROMANCE MYSTERY
Mystery never confessed. He never needed to. He was just there — a steady shadow when the ache for Romance consumed you. His silences felt like understanding, his rare words cut sharper than comfort ever should.
Months passed. The ache dulled. And one night, you found yourself leaning into him on the dorm rooftop, no sadness in your chest this time.
“I don’t think about Romance like that anymore,” you admitted.
Mystery’s jaw tensed. “Good.”
You turned to tease him, bumping his shoulder. “Sounds like you’ve been waiting to hear that.”
His amber eyes met yours, sharp but burning. “Because I have.”
Your breath hitched. “Myst—”
“I won’t beg,” he said, voice low, certain. “But if you let me, I’ll love you the way you should’ve been loved from the start.”
The silence stretched. Then, slowly, you leaned your head on his shoulder. It’s just like how you always do, but this time it carried something more.
Mystery’s breath shuddered out. For the first time in a long time, his walls cracked, and he let you see the softness beneath.
“Guess I found my person,” you whispered.
Mystery’s hand twitched before finally, finally, finally finding yours.

Part 20:
The Shape of Their Regret
The world was swallowed in white.
The blast had been instantaneous, a supernova blooming outward, engulfing the stage, the stadium, and the sky itself. And in those blinding seconds, silence pressed in like a tomb. The singing stopped. The boys dropped from the air, bodies slamming to the ground, knees buckling.
Jinu’s roar tore the stillness apart.
“Y/N!” His voice cracked, raw with terror, his throat breaking on the scream. He clawed at the stage as if he could rip you back from the light, his amber eyes wide with the same horror that had haunted him for centuries.
This was the vision he had seen…Rumi’s mother’s body splitting apart, burning away into nothingness.
And now it was you. You, who had always been fate’s victim, who he swore he would never let slip away again. He had become Daehyun. He had become the man who could not protect the woman who bore the tether. Powerless. Useless. Watching love dissolve into ash.
Haneul crumpled forward, hands shaking against the floorboards. His chest heaved, every muscle in his body screaming to fly to you, to drag you out of the fire, to take the hit himself. But the light had been too bright, too absolute… there had been no pulling you free. His eyes burned, veins throbbing, and for the first time in lifetimes, his strength meant nothing.
Seoha’s illusions flickered violently around him, scattering like shards of glass. He staggered, lips parted, unable to breathe as the color drained from his face. He had tried to convince himself during the fight that this ritual would save you, that he could weave hope like another one of his sweet lies… but no magic could disguise this grief. His eyes brimmed with tears he couldn’t blink away, his chest tight with the weight of losing you by your own choice.
Seungho slammed a clawed hand into the floor, wood splintering beneath the blow. His voice was a guttural snarl, but his eyes, sharp, red-rimmed, betrayed the panic beneath. He had sworn if he couldn’t have you, no one would. But this wasn’t him losing you to someone else. This was worse. This was you gone forever. His body shook as the rage drained, leaving only raw devastation.
Hwimori howled, the sound unearthly, the beast inside him mourning with primal grief. His massive form shuddered, ears pressed flat, eyes wide with panic and pain. The tether threads burned crimson in his chest but felt suddenly hollow, empty. He thrashed, tearing at the floor with his claws, as if he could claw open the light itself to drag you back.
The weight of their grief pressed like chains against the stage.
Mira and Zoey stared from across the circle, blades still in hand, but lowered, eyes wide at the sight of the boys’ anguish. It was written in every shake of their bodies, every scream and sob.
For so long, Huntrix had painted demons as incapable of true love, of feeling anything but hunger and obsession. But here, they saw no monsters…only men broken open by despair.
Mira’s throat tightened, her heart aching with sympathy despite everything. Zoey’s lips trembled as she looked at them, at Jinu especially, his body wracked with sobs. Was this what love was, even for demons?
Off to the side, Rumi stood frozen. Her pulse thundered in her ears, hands trembling at her sides. It couldn’t have failed. It couldn’t. They had followed everything… every line of her father’s journal, every instruction. She had believed so strongly that this time would be different.
But what if she was wrong? What if her interference, her insistence, had led to your destruction? Her chest clenched, bile rising in her throat as fear overtook her. Had she killed you? Was she the one who had doomed you to burn like her mother before you?
Her thoughts spiraled, clawing at her like jagged glass, until Zoey’s sharp cry cut through the despair.
“You guys—!” Her voice cracked, urgent. “The light… it’s fading…”
Every head snapped upward. Faces streaked with tears, jaws slack with grief, eyes wide with a desperate, fragile hope. For a moment none of them breathed, the silence stretched taut, trembling, as the brilliance began to soften.
The dome of light shimmered, dimming slowly. In its place, a silhouette appeared, glowing, indistinct, blinding at first. The figure hovered in the haze, descending at a pace agonizingly slow.
Shock. Disbelief. Awe. It rippled across their faces in waves. Seoha’s lips parted soundlessly, his tears still streaking as his gaze locked on the descending figure. Seungho staggered to his feet, claws trembling in the air as if reaching. Haneul pressed a fist to his chest, his breath sharp and ragged. Hwimori whimpered low in his throat, eyes wide. And Jinu… Jinu fell silent, his entire body shaking, amber eyes staring like a man seeing salvation where only death had been.
As the glow ebbed, the details emerged.
Your form, bathed in white, clothes gleaming as though woven from starlight. Hair floating, haloing your face in a radiant crown. Skin smoothed like porcelain, though that wasn’t the most shocking of all.
Across your body rippled an iridescent sheen, markings alive and shifting, etched into your skin like living sigils. They shimmered with colors beyond mortal description. Threads that moved as though breathing. They looked like the Honmoon itself, carved into you.
The power pulsed from you in waves. Ancient. Otherworldly. It hummed in the marrow of everyone present, proof that you were no longer human.
The boys’ expressions fractured, relief tangled with awe, disbelief, terror.
Haneul’s eyes brimmed as his lips shaped your name like a prayer. Seungho pressed a shaking hand against his mouth, unable to disguise the tremor in his chest. Seoha let out a soft, broken laugh, tears blurring his vision, muttering “impossible” under his breath. Hwimori whimpered, his beast’s ears flattening as tears streaked his cheeks.
Jinu’s tears fell freely now, his hand reaching upward instinctively, as though he might catch you out of the heavens.
Huntrix stared in stunned silence. Mira’s blade dropped slightly at her side, her eyes wide with awe. Zoey pressed a hand to her lips, unable to stop the tears that welled. And Rumi… Rumi sobbed silently, gratitude and disbelief shaking her shoulders. You had survived. You had become the tether.
Your descent suddenly grew faster as the glow faded, your body beginning to fall like gravity had suddenly reclaimed you.
“No—!” Jinu bolted forward, faster than thought, leaping into the air. His arms caught you as you dropped, cradling you to his chest before you could hit the stage. He landed on his knees, pulling your body impossibly close to his own.
Your body was warm, glowing faintly, your eyes still closed. His tears spilled into your hair as he clutched you tight, voice breaking on your name.
The boys closed in on Jinu in a frantic circle, bodies hunched and trembling, their fear spilling into the air so thick it was suffocating.
“Baby…” Haneul dropped to his knees before you, his hands fisted helplessly against his sides. His chest hitched, eyes red and wet as he stared at you limp in Jinu’s arms.
Seungho pressed close at your side, his face contorted, eyes hollow. He reached for your hand with shaking claws, curling your limp fingers into his palm. “Is she breathing—?” His voice cracked into a whisper, broken by the weight of terror. “Oh, gods, please…”
Hwimori had shifted back into his human form and crouched low, chest rumbling with a trembling whine. His hands felt along your wrist, heart thudding as he felt your beating pulse.
Then, softer than anyone expected, his voice rasped through clenched teeth. “She’s alive.”
Jinu choked on a sob, crushing you to his chest, rocking you back and forth like a mother would a child, as though holding you tighter might force life back into your body. Tears fell freely down his face, dampening your hair.
“My girl,” he whispered, voice shaking with a rawness none of them had ever heard. He pressed his lips to your forehead, his whole body trembling. “My baby… my everything. Mine.”
“Thank god,” Seoha muttered, his composure shattered. His hands dragged through his damp hair as he crouched closer, blinking tears. “Don’t you do that to me again. I can’t—” His words cut off as his throat closed, and he pressed his forehead to your temple, whispering against your skin, “I can’t lose you. Not after everything. Not now.”
Seungho’s hand tightened around yours. He lifted it slowly, pressing your limp palm to his cheek as tears streamed down his face unchecked. His voice was hoarse, trembling. “You scared the shit out of me… I thought—I thought you’d left us. Don’t you dare do that again.” His cheek pressed harder into your palm, eyes squeezed shut. “I love you too much for this.”
Hwimori was silent, palms clutched tight as he stared at you. Alive. Breathing. Here. He let out a desperate whine as tears flowed freely down his face.
Mira, Zoey, and Rumi had run closer, their weapons now gone, but they couldn’t keep from stopping at the sight. The girls huddled together, arms around each other, sobbing quietly as they watched the boys weep over you.
They had never seen them like this… utterly undone. Tender. Vulnerable. Human. A wave of awe, sympathy, and something softer swept through them, as they looked at you with newfound care.
Mira sucked in a breath and looked around, “We can’t stay here.” she muttered, glancing at the crowd, still believing this was performance. “Too many eyes.”
“Let’s get her backstage” Rumi stated. She ran towards Jinu who was clutching you to his chest.
“Jinu!”
But the demon didn’t look, he was too focused on you, your warmth, in his arms.
“Jinu- we have to move her.” She muttered nervously. It was like he wasn’t hearing a word she said. She glanced to the nearest boy to her– Seoha.
“Romance, please,” She pleaded. He blinked, tears still staining his cheeks and disbelief still on his face. As if waking up from a trance, he looked at Rumi.
“There are too many eyes here. Let’s move this backstage.”
As if waking from a dream, Seoha glanced around at the crowd still cheering. Some of them happy, most confused. He clenched his jaw and nodded to her.
In a swift motion, he was able to gather Jinu and the others to move you out of sight. Jinu didn’t have it in him to stand, so the boys all apparated him and you elsewhere, out of prying eyes.
Once out of sight somewhere in the stadium, the boys had huddled around you once again with Huntrix standing over them. You were still unconscious in Jinu’s arms, and they were getting desperate to have you wake.
“Baby? Open your eyes, please…” Seoha coaxed, brushing his thumb gently across your cheek. His tears spilled freely, falling onto your skin, sliding down the curve of your face. He pressed his forehead against your own, voice breaking, begging: “Please… come back to us.”
You felt it before you saw anything.
Warmth. The press of strong arms around you. Salt in the air, tears dripping onto your skin. Sobs. Sniffles. Pleas. It was dark, but they were there… you could feel them. Their warmth, their scent, the sharp spice of Seungho’s sweat, the faint incense of Seoha’s cologne, the earth-and-fire musk of Haneul, the feral tang of Hwimori, the bittersweet smoke of Jinu. They were wrapped around you, shielding you, holding you.
The pain was gone. Where had it gone? Was it over? Or… had you died?
Peace washed over you like a tide, light and endless, a coil of magic humming through every vein. Your body felt lighter, charged, threaded with power you didn’t understand. Iridescent streams wound around your soul, soft but potent. It didn’t feel human anymore.
Maybe this was what death felt like… empty, quiet, at peace.
And then, faintly, you heard them.
“…please…” “…stay…” “…don’t leave us again…”
Your breath hitched. Your chest rose. The world came rushing back as your eyes fluttered open.
Jinu was the first thing you saw.
He looked down at you with an expression so raw it seared your heart, a mixture of disbelief and uncontained relief, tears still spilling, his lips parted like he couldn’t believe you were really there. His hand trembled against your cheek.
Beside him, the others leaned in, every one of them tear-streaked, red-eyed, broken open by fear and awe. Their gazes locked on you, drinking in the sight of your open eyes, proof that you were alive.
But your eyes weren’t the same. They glowed crimson, deep and unyielding, no longer flickering but… permanent.
Your hand lifted weakly, cupping Jinu’s tear-wet face. He broke into another sob at your touch, closing his eyes as if savoring the feel of your skin.
You smiled faintly, whispering, voice raspy but tender. “I didn’t think I could take you with me to heaven…”
Jinu’s chest shuddered as he cupped your hand with his, pressing into it like a man dying of thirst. “As if anyone could separate me from you, baby. I would never allow it…” His voice broke on the vow.
Tears welled in your eyes as you turned your gaze.
“You came back,” Haneul muttered hoarsely, his voice almost a question. His eyes brimmed, his body bent low before you.
Your gaze swept across them, confusion mixing with wonder. Tear-streaked faces, raw eyes, trembling lips. They looked devastated… like men who had shattered and stitched themselves back together in the space of a breath.
“Why are you all crying?” you whispered.
Seoha let out a breathy, broken chuckle, brushing your cheek again. “We thought we lost you. And you wonder why—” His voice caught. He shook his head, forehead pressing to yours again. “Gods, you’re impossible. Even at the edge of death, you don’t know what you do to us.”
Your eyes widened, realization dawning like a flood. “Wait… I’m not dead?”
“No, sweetheart,” Haneul whispered, lifting your wrist to his lips. He kissed it tenderly, tears streaking his cheeks. “You did it.”
The words sank in slowly, disbelief breaking across you like a tide. You gasped, pushing yourself up shakily. Jinu held you close, steadying you, unwilling to let you go for even a second.
The world was still the stadium but darker, somewhere in the back perhaps? It was still filled with the stench of smoke. And yet, the boys surrounded you, each of them alive, each of them staring at you like you were a miracle. Above them, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey clung to each other, sobbing openly, their faces lit with awe and gratitude.
“I’m…” Your voice faltered as you looked down at yourself. Your clothes shimmered white, your skin etched with iridescent sigils that rippled faintly with movement, glowing softly. Your fingers trembled as you lifted them into the light. “I did it?”
“Yes.” Jinu’s smile broke through his tears, soft and disbelieving.
“Gave me the scare of my life while you were at it,” Seungho muttered, voice still raw.
A stunned laugh burst from your lips. The joy swelled suddenly in your chest, breaking through your shock. You let out a little squeal and flung yourself toward Seoha. He staggered, caught off guard, before wrapping his arms tight around you, crushing you against him. He pressed desperate kisses into your hair, muttering incoherently, “Never again, never again—”
The others couldn’t hold back.
Haneul pulled you from Seoha’s arms to clutch you against his chest, his lips pressing to your hairline, your cheek, your temple. “You terrified me…” he whispered. “How are you feeling now, baby? Anything hurt?” The tremble in his voice made your eyes well with tears.
“I’m fine, Haneul.” You soothed, wiping away at his tears. “Just a little tired…”
He released a breath of relief, almost a sigh, before he proceeded to kiss your lips over and over again in short, loving pecks, “My love. My baby… You’re here. You’re here…”
Seungho tugged you next, his lips trembling as he kissed your knuckles, then your lips, then buried his face in your neck with a groan. “You broke me and saved me in the same breath. I can’t breathe without you.”
Hwimori nudged his head against you, whining softly before seizing your face in both hands and kissing your tears away. “I thought I’d lost you again.” he mumbled, and the ache in his voice gripped at your heart.
“You didn’t. And you won’t. Not ever.” You soothed.
Your soul beast closed his eyes, savoring the sound of your voice, whispering in broken repetition, “Mine. Mine. Mine.”
And Jinu… he held you last, trembling, his mouth finding yours in a kiss that was more a sob than anything else, his tears mixing with yours. His forehead pressed to yours as he whispered, “I’m sorry I ever doubted you,” his thumb went to caress your lower lip tenderly, “You’re everything. My tether. My love. My forever. My strong girl.”
Huntrix stood close by, tears spilling as they watched, arms tight around one another.
Mira’s voice caught in her throat as she whispered, “She did it…”
Zoey nodded into her shoulder, crying with relief, while Rumi simply stared, her face wet, her chest rising with the deepest gratitude she had ever felt.
For the first time since the nightmare began, there was peace.
After what felt like an eternity of being smothered in tears, kisses, and trembling hands, you turned, reluctantly tugging free from Jinu’s arms. He clutched you like he’d never let go, but at your soft look, he loosened his grip.
The girls stood just beyond the circle of the boys. Their arms still locked around each other, but their eyes, gods, their eyes. They looked at you as though you were something ethereal. Something not of this world. You could see it in their faces: the awe, the disbelief, the way their gazes traced the iridescent markings etched into your skin, the faint shimmer that still clung to you like light refusing to let go.
You walked toward them slowly, each step quiet against the wooden floorboards. And before you could even speak, Rumi broke.
She hurled herself forward, arms wrapping around you, sobbing into your shoulder. The force of her skin against yours made you gasp. The moment you touched, the markings on your arms rippled and shimmered, light vibrating outward in a low hum.
You both pulled back in shock, wide-eyed, clutching each other’s arms. Your eyes stared down at where her hands glowed against your skin, the sheen of your markings pulsing alive under her touch.
“Woah—” you both gasped together, eyes darting up to one another, startled, breathless.
Mira and Zoey froze mid-step, their jaws slack. The boys instantly surged forward, alarm flashing across their faces, claws twitching, but they halted when they saw you weren’t in danger.
“What was that?” you breathed, staring at your glowing arms.
“I… I have no idea…” Rumi whispered.
The two of you just stared, confusion tangled between you, until a laugh bubbled from your throat. A shocked, breathy chuckle. Rumi’s lips broke into a watery smile, and then you both laughed, disbelieving, giddy.
She pulled you in again, holding you tighter this time. “I’m so glad you’re okay…” she whispered hoarsely. “For a moment I thought—” Her voice cracked, the words tumbling out broken. “I thought I had—that you had—”
You pulled back to see her face, tear-streaked, raw with guilt. Your heart clenched. You squeezed her arm gently, grounding her. “I’m okay…”
She sobbed, wiping her cheeks messily. “You’re kind of insane, you know that?”
You laughed, but before you could respond, Zoey threw herself at you, nearly knocking the breath out of your lungs. You hear Hwimori growl somewhere to your left.
Again, that ripple of magic thrummed across your skin, light shimmering faintly. You gasped softly, but Zoey didn’t notice, her eyes were squeezed shut, arms banded tight around you like a vice.
“Oh my god, Y/N!” she cried, voice breaking. “I’m so glad you didn’t like… die.”
A laugh slipped from you, awkward and shaky, as you patted her back. “Thanks, Zoey…”
You looked up over her shoulder, only to find Mira watching you. Her gaze was sharp, calculating, like she was trying to piece together a puzzle. But as your eyes met, the hardness softened. She gave a faint nod, her voice low, “…same here, Y/N. I’m glad you’re okay.”
Your chest tightened. You hadn’t spent much time with Mira… she was distant, sharper than the others… but you remembered. She had been the one to save your life on the train. Beneath all that steel, there was a woman who cared fiercely for those she swore to protect. And somehow, you realized, she was including you now. You dipped your head to her, gratitude swelling.
“Okay, that’s enough,” Seungho muttered, stepping forward, his claws twitching as if ready to yank you back.
Zoey whipped her head to glare over your shoulder. She held onto you tighter, scowling. “Back off.”
Seungho bristled instantly, lips curling.
“Hmph.” Zoey huffed, stubborn, clutching you tighter. And then, without warning, you were pulled right out of her arms by Hwimori.
“Hey!” Zoey screeched.
Hwimori pressed you against his chest, baring his teeth at her in a low growl. His eyes narrowed, feral, daring her to try and take you again.
Zoey shot him a glare like he was a misbehaving dog. “Seriously?”
“Calm down, Hwi, it’s fine,” you soothed, laughter spilling despite yourself. He only whined, clutching you tighter, refusing to let you go.
The girls’ eyes softened as they watched. Something strange rose in their chests… something they couldn’t quite name. Was it relief? Gratitude? Affection?
They had played a part in this, in you becoming what you were. The ritual had worked because of them, because of their voices, their magic intertwined with yours. And now, looking at you alive, glowing, impossibly radiant like the Honmoon had been… they couldn’t shake the sense that a piece of their power lived inside you. That they were connected to you, bonded in some new, inexplicable way.
Mira’s thoughts churned, unsettled. The way the markings on your skin had flared at Rumi’s touch… It was the same reaction the Honmoon gave when they’d activate it. Was it possible the tether was not only demon-born, but hunter-touched as well? Her mind spun, questions forming like storm clouds.
Everyone exchanged looks, the silence heavy, almost awkward.
“So…” you murmured, exhaustion thick in your voice, “what now?”
────────── ⚘ ──────────
The world felt muted when you woke up an hour ago. Soft sheets tangled around your legs, warm bodies pressed into your sides, the faint hum of magic still lingering in the air like the aftertaste of smoke and honey.
Your body ached, heavy with exhaustion, but also lighter in a way you couldn’t name… like some invisible burden had lifted even as another, stranger weight settled in its place. You blinked up at the ceiling of your room, the dim light spilling in from the half-closed curtains painting thin lines across the walls.
They were draped around you like a living shield. Seungho sprawled half-atop you, his face buried against your stomach as if he never intended to lift it again. Seoha’s long frame curled along your other side, his arm slung protectively over your waist, fingers twitching even in rest like he couldn’t trust you to stay. Haneul was at the headboard, shoulders pressed to the wall, your hand caught firmly in his grip, knuckles white, like if he let go for even a second, you’d vanish again. Hwimori tucked himself by your legs, cheek pressed against your thigh, a quiet tremor still running through him as though the memory of last night was trapped in his body.
You had surprised them all. You’d thought they might never forgive themselves, and for a moment, when you stood against them, you’d believed you might never forgive them either. That they would go through with the massacre, bind themselves in blood, and leave you behind in every way that mattered. But then you chose otherwise. You leapt, and the world changed.
The door creaked open. Jinu entered, phone loose in his hand, expression set in that unreadable calm that always concealed something deeper. He stopped at the sight of you surrounded by them, and for a moment you caught the flicker of relief break through his mask.
“Well?” you asked.
“I sent the message,” he sighed, and with a graceless dive, he landed onto the bed, trampling over Seoha in the process.
Seoha groaned, half-heartedly shoving at him. “Do you mind?”
“They’ll meet us tonight,” Jinu finished, ignoring him, his gaze already drifting to you.
“Do they really have to?” Seungho groaned into your stomach, his voice muffled by fabric and skin. He refused to lift his head, clutching you tighter like a child refusing to let go of his blanket. “I don’t like the idea of hunters in our living space…”
“They have no reason to hunt you… not anymore,” you murmured, your hand sliding into his hair, combing through the strands as if to soothe him. “Besides… we need to figure out how this all works together.”
“What do they have to do with it…” he muttered, voice heavy with petulance and weariness.
“Their magic created the tether,” Jinu reminded softly, though his jaw tightened. “I don’t like the idea of them being here either, but we need to figure out what happens from here on out…”
You caught the weight of his eyes on you then, lingering longer than necessary. Something in his stare made you falter, as if he were memorizing a new version of you. His gaze traced over your skin, paler, as if dusted with moonlight. The faint shimmer beneath your veins where the tether pulsed, the subtle glow that rimmed your irises when the light struck them just right, no longer entirely human.
You had changed. You had sacrificed what you were to become this.
His throat bobbed as he swallowed, his thoughts loud even in his silence, she had to change for us. She had to give up her humanity because of us.
And yet… he wanted to believe that meant forever. That this form, this bond, meant there would never again be a world where you were torn from him.
Relief warred with fear in him, and it cut you to feel it.
Your own thoughts spun wildly, your chest heavy with all the questions you hadn’t had the strength to face. What did it mean to be a tether? Why had you survived, when by all accounts you should not have? Why hadn’t the boys disappeared along with the fractured Honmoon and all the other demons? What would Huntrix do now, without their barrier?
“We need to discuss this,” you said softly, your voice trembling. “I—I don’t know a single thing about what it means to be the tether—”
“Us either,” Seoha interjected with a humorless chuckle, brushing his thumb absently over your waist. “You’re the first one in the history of forever to become one” His lips tilted into a half-smile, though his eyes betrayed him. “Although, I’m not complaining… just look at you.”
He lifted your hand and pressed soft kisses up your arm, his mouth warm and gentle. His lips trailed to your collarbone before he paused, and when your eyes met his, your heart nearly broke. His gaze held a love so fierce it hurt, tempered by a fear that twisted deep. He cupped your cheek, thumb trembling against your skin.
“Please,” he whispered, voice raw. “Don’t ever do anything like that again…”
And then it hit you. Harder than ever before. Their presence wasn’t just around you anymore, it was in you. The bond had deepened into something unbearable in its clarity. Their emotions pressed into you like tidal waves.
Fear, grief, love so sharp it cut. You felt their memories, fragments of last night flashing in your mind as if you had lived them yourself. Seungho’s silent scream when your body fell limp, Seoha’s desperate prayers muttered through blood, Haneul breaking against the chains to reach you, Hwimori clawing at the ground, Jinu’s hollow eyes watching you crumble.
It was stronger than ever before. No longer a tether of threads woven between you, but something deeper, more permanent. You weren’t just bound to them. You were them, and they were you. Anchors. Mirrors. Reflections of the same existence.
You looked at their faces, creased with anguish, softened by awe… and knew, yes, you were the tether now, but more than that, you were tethered to them most of all.
The silence shattered with a voice choked on tears.
“Forgive me.”
Your head turned. Jinu had sunk to his knees by the bed, his hand clutching the sheets like they were the only thing holding him to reality. His eyes shimmered with unshed tears, uncharacteristically bare.
“Forgive me, baby,” his voice cracked, softer than you had ever heard it. “I… did so many things you didn’t deserve.”
Your chest seized. He bowed his head, shaking. “I locked you in. I lied to you. I let you think you were free when I was weaving chains around you. I convinced myself it was love, that it was fate, when it was selfishness. And then—then I was ready to damn the world just to keep you. I almost—” His voice broke, and a tear slid down his cheek. “I almost made you hate me forever.”
“Jinu…”
“No.” His eyes snapped up, red-rimmed, desperate. “Don’t tell me I did what I had to. Don’t tell me you understand. I don’t deserve that. I should have respected you. I should have listened instead of trying to control you. But I couldn’t. I can’t…” He choked.
“...Not after hundreds of years mourning you. Not after lifetimes of losing you. I couldn’t let you go again. I thought—I thought if I had to burn the whole world, at least you’d still be mine.” His hands shook as he reached for you, hesitated, then finally pressed into your shoulder, clutching you. “And when you fell, when I thought you were gone again—I swear, I wanted to tear myself apart.”
You silenced him with your arms, dragging him into your embrace. His sobs broke against your shoulder, muffled by your hair. His fingers dug into your back as though you might dissolve if he didn’t hold you hard enough. “I’m sorry,” he kept muttering against your skin, voice fractured, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
Seoha was the first to move. His body shifted against yours, head bent low, and for this moment, the playful gleam in his eyes was gone. His lashes trembled as though he was ashamed to even look at you. His voice, usually silken and coaxing, barely broke above a whisper.
“I tried to make you live in a dream,” he confessed, each word halting as though it burned his tongue. “Because I was terrified reality would take you from me. If I could make you believe in my fantasy, I thought you’d never leave… but it was cruel, wasn’t it?” His hand ghosted over your wrist, the lightest brush, as if he feared you might recoil.
When you didn’t, his fingers clutched desperately, knuckles paling. “I wanted you to think you were free, when all I did was bind you tighter. I’m sorry,” his voice cracked, and the weight of his fear spilled raw in his amber eyes, shimmering wet. “I can’t forgive myself for what I did to you.”
Before you could speak, another voice broke in. Strained and trembling. Seungho bent to wrap his arms around you. He had buried his face in your stomach, and his hair tickled your skin as he refused to look up. When he finally did, his lips were parted in a shuddering breath, eyes dark with unshed tears.
“I wanted to cage you,” he said hoarsely, words guttural with shame. His broad hand slid down your side, clutching too tightly, then loosening when he realized his grip shook. “To lock you somewhere the world couldn’t hurt you. To keep you so safe you’d never see the sun again.”
His throat worked, and he laughed bitterly, brokenly. “That isn’t love. That’s… smothering. And still, I did it. I nearly broke you under the weight of my obsession.” His eyes met yours at last, brimming with regret. “I don’t know if I can ever forgive myself, but… I need you to know that every cruel thing I did was born from the terror of losing you.”
The bed shifted again as Haneul moved closer. He hadn’t spoken until now. His silence had been heavy, suffocating. But when he finally lifted his face, you flinched at the rawness etched there. His usual cocky half-smile was gone, his lips trembling instead. He gripped your hand, pressing it to his chest like it was the only thing keeping him breathing.
“I hated myself,” he choked, his deep voice breaking in ways you’d never heard. “For every second I wasn’t your shield. For letting you fight alone. For every scar you took because I wasn’t fast enough, strong enough.” His thumb rubbed circles over the back of your hand, but his eyes were wide and unblinking, like he was begging you to carve the truth into him.
“You almost died, and it was my fault. I swore I’d protect you, but I failed. And if I lose you again, I… I don’t think I’d survive it.” His chest shuddered under your palm, tears slipping past his lashes.
Then came Hwimori. He was already curled against your leg, trembling, and when the words burst out of him they weren’t elegant confessions. They were sobs. His voice cracked like glass, raw with desperation.
“All I thought about was owning you,” he cried, clinging to you so tightly your leg ached. His nails bit into your skin through the sheets as his tears dampened the fabric. “Clinging to you, holding you, because I was so afraid you’d slip away. I didn’t know how to love without consuming you.”
His head shook violently against your thigh, as if shaking himself apart. “I was selfish, I know. I know. But the thought of being left behind again—” His words strangled into a sob, muffled against you. “I couldn’t take it. I still can’t.”
One by one, their apologies carved deeper into you. Seoha’s whisper trembling with regret. Seungho’s guttural confession cracking his pride. Haneul’s voice breaking under the weight of his vow. Hwimori sobbing like a puppy clinging to its owner. Each word tore at your heart, unraveling pain you thought you had buried, but at the same time… every word bound you tighter to them, stitched you together in threads of agony and devotion.
Your thoughts spiraled. You remembered every lock, every manipulation, every lie, every choice stolen from you in the name of devotion. You remembered nights staring at walls you couldn’t escape, the confusion of being loved so intensely it burned, the ache of feeling trapped in affection that suffocated even as it warmed you.
And yet, you looked at them now, wrecked, ruined, begging for forgiveness with their whole souls… and you understood. You understood that their love was not cruelty, not really... It was brokenness. It was the sharp, jagged edges of centuries of grief. They had suffered for you, bled for you, waited for you across lifetimes, and in the end, they only knew how to cling too hard.
Your tears spilled hot and silent as the realization cut you open.
“I hated it sometimes,” you whispered, and all of them froze. You lifted your gaze, wet eyes shining. “The way you trapped me. The lies, the half-truths, the way you made me feel powerless. I hated how much it hurt, how much it confused me. How much it made me doubt whether love could be something good.”
Their faces shattered with guilt.
“But…” your voice shook, but you pressed on. “But I understand you. I see you… all of you. How could I not, when I’ve lived it with you now? You’re broken. You’ve always been broken. And all you’ve ever tried to do is love me, protect me, keep me safe, even when you didn’t know how. How could I blame you for wanting to hold on? For being terrified of losing me again? How could I ever hate you for loving me too much?”
Their breaths caught, hope warring with disbelief.
“This is my choice,” you said firmly, tears slipping down your cheeks. “I chose to become this. To be your tether. To be with you, no matter what it means. And whatever happens next—we’ll face it together.”
Your voice softened to a whisper, fragile as glass. “I thought I’d died… but when I woke, all I felt was you. And I couldn’t have asked for more.” You sobbed softly with a smile.
“I love you,” you said at last, the words tumbling out in a voice cracked but unwavering. You looked at each of them, your gaze trembling between their tear-streaked faces, your heart so heavy and so full it threatened to split in two. “I love you all so much… so I forgive you.”
For a heartbeat, the room froze. A sharp silence fell, thick enough to suffocate, and then… the bond thrummed like a living thing. It surged through your chest so powerfully it made you gasp, like your ribs might break beneath the weight of it. Their eyes widened all at once, disbelieving, as if they had never dared to hope you might speak those words to them again.
“You’re more than ours now,” Seoha whispered, his voice hoarse, breaking on the edges. He leaned forward as though pulled by gravity, brushing his lips against your temple. The kiss lingered, trembling, like a prayer he was afraid to finish. His fingers slid into your hair, clutching the back of your head as though he could anchor himself there. When he pulled back, his lips were wet with his own tears.
“You’re our anchor,” Seungho murmured, his voice low, almost guttural. He pressed himself into your side, his arm banding tightly around your waist. His mouth found yours with desperation, hot, trembling, a kiss that bruised and begged in the same breath. His tears smeared against your cheek, and when he broke away it was only to press his lips again to your jaw, your neck, frantic as though he couldn’t kiss you enough.
“Our tether,” Haneul added, his deep voice breaking into something almost boyish with the weight of his grief. His rough hand clutched yours so hard it hurt, his thumb dragging across your knuckles like he was memorizing every ridge. He leaned in and captured your lips in a kiss so tender it made your breath hitch… slow and lingering. His forehead pressed to yours when he pulled away, his breath shuddering out as though you had just pulled him back from the edge of drowning.
Hwimori pressed his face into your thigh, his tears soaking through the fabric, his voice shaking with devotion and fear. “We can’t imagine a world without you,” he whispered, broken, his lips brushing your skin with every word. “Not anymore. Not ever.”
Then, with a sudden desperate movement, he tilted his tear-streaked face up and kissed your mouth. It was messy, wet with tears, but so full of aching need you thought you might shatter under it. He sobbed against your lips, his hands clutching your waist like he was terrified you’d disappear.
Jinu hadn’t spoken yet. His amber eyes, usually so steady, were glistening with something raw and unguarded. When he finally moved, it was slow, as though approaching something sacred.
His hand cupped your cheek with trembling care, his thumb brushing away a tear you hadn’t realized had fallen. “My fate has always been you,” he whispered, voice low and steady but breaking at the end. Then he bent, pressing his lips to yours in a kiss that was devastating in its gentleness. He kissed you like a vow, like a man who had waited lifetimes to taste forgiveness, his breath mingling with yours in aching silence.
When he pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, and his whisper trembled into the bond, “Always you. Only you.”
And one by one, they kissed you again, like broken men, like drowning souls finding air, like sinners kissing the altar of their only salvation. Seoha’s mouth soft and pleading. Seungho’s hungry, unrestrained. Haneul’s steady, shaking. Hwimori’s raw, desperate, unfiltered. And Jinu’s achingly tender, worshipping, as though every brush of his lips was a vow carved into eternity.
Each kiss bled into the next until you were surrounded, consumed, smothered in love so fierce and twisted it was holy. And as their words sank into you, heavy and sacred, you knew with terrifying certainty that they were right. You weren’t just theirs anymore. You were the thread binding them to existence itself… their tether, their anchor, their salvation.
You stayed tangled with them on the bed for what felt like both an instant and an eternity. The hours bled into whispers, every breath heavy with devotion.
They murmured promises into your skin, worship into your bones. The room was hushed save for the soft sounds of affection, foreheads pressed together, lips brushing, hands unwilling to let go. The bond pulsed gently, soothing but alive, weaving you closer with every thrum.
Eventually, Haneul was the first to pull away, though not without a lingering kiss to your hair. “I’ll make breakfast,” he whispered, sliding off the bed with reluctant grace. His absence left a void against your side.
Jinu and Seoha followed, muttering something about work. “Damage control,” Jinu had called it with that sharp sigh of his, though the way his hand hesitated at the door betrayed his reluctance to leave you. Hwimori, eyes still puffy from earlier, slipped out to make your favorite morning tea.
Which left you with Seungho. He didn’t waste a second, catching your wrist and tugging you upright with effortless strength.
“We need to get some food in you, princess,” he muttered against your shoulder, his lips brushing over the bare skin in a kiss that made your knees buckle. You laughed softly, swatting his chest before moving toward your dresser to grab a hair tie. But the mirror stopped you cold.
You froze, staring at your reflection as though seeing a stranger. Your breath hitched, hand trembling in the air mid-motion.
“Oh…” The sound slipped from you in a gasp, your voice trembling. Your skin glowed faintly, almost iridescent, as though light was trapped beneath it. Not just healthy… but unnatural, divine. And your eyes… were now a deep crimson, rich as spilt wine, burning like molten rubies. They seemed alive, threaded with an unearthly power that pulsed in rhythm with your heartbeat.
“Is that… really me?” you whispered, chest tight with a mix of wonder and fear.
Seungho’s presence was a shadow and a warmth, his tall frame moving behind you before you even heard him. His hands, broad and steady, slipped around your waist, grounding you. His gaze locked onto yours in the mirror. Not your skin, not your form, but your eyes.
He kissed your shoulder softly, his lips lingering like a vow against your skin. “That’s you,” he murmured low and tender. “More than you’ve ever been. But nevertheless… still you. Still the you I’m in love with. Still the you we’ve all been waiting centuries to find.”
You swallowed hard, heart stuttering, unable to look away from your reflection or from him behind you. When he turned you gently to face him, his hands cupped your cheeks like you were fragile, breakable glass. His eyes, usually sharp and cold, softened into something that made your throat ache.
“You’re beautiful,” he said simply, but it wasn’t simple at all. His voice cracked with sincerity, his thumbs brushing your cheeks as if to memorize the new you. “Not because of this,” he tilted his head toward your glowing skin, your crimson eyes. “Because you’re you. And now the world finally sees it the way we do.”
He kissed your forehead, tender and grounding, before twining his fingers with yours. Still dazed, you let him lead you from the room, your palm burning with his warmth.
The kitchen was filled with the sizzle of a pan and the scent of garlic and eggs. Haneul stood at the stove, sleeves rolled to his elbows, humming under his breath while flipping something that smelled heavenly.
Hwimori spotted you first. He hurried over, setting your tea on the table with a grin that reached his still-amber eyes. He bent down and kissed your head firmly. “Here, for you,”
The warmth of the mug seeped into your palms as you smiled, pressing a kiss to his cheek in thanks.
Seoha pulled you toward him almost immediately, settling you onto his lap with a possessive ease. His lips brushed your shoulder, sending heat crawling over your skin. “Sit. Rest. You’ve done enough.”
Your gaze drifted to the counter, where unfinished trays of sweets sat untouched. The sight made your stomach twist. You groaned, covering your face with your hands. “Oh my god, I completely forgot I had just left them there.”
Seoha’s mouth moved against your shoulder again, softer this time, his tone coaxing. “Don’t worry about it, angel.”
“But… we have to celebrate Hwi’s birthday,” you mumbled, the words heavy with guilt.
Hwimori looked up from pulling out a chair, his lips quirking into a sheepish smile. “You don’t have to, my love.”
“Yes, I do! I promised. And you need a birthday celebration.”
“I mean…” He sat down, shrugging, “I don’t neeeed it.”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Yes, you DO.”
His smile widened, soft and touched, his gaze shimmering with warmth at your insistence.
“We’ll shop for more ingredients tomorrow,” Haneul chimed in sweetly, glancing over his shoulder at you from the stove.
Your eyes lit up. “Really?”
“Of course, baby.”
“Yay!” You bounced happily in Seoha’s lap, earning a strangled groan. His hand clamped on your thigh.
“Angel, don’t do that unless you want me to forget there’s food on the table,” he growled into your ear, voice dripping with suggestion.
Your face went scarlet. “Oh my god, you’re insufferable,” you grumbled, smacking his arm.
He pinched your thigh teasingly, and you squeaked in protest. Your exasperated glare only made the others laugh, the sound filling the kitchen with a lightness that soothed your chest.
Haneul set plates down just as Jinu walked in, his hair slightly tousled, a crease between his brows. He leaned over and kissed the crown of your head before sinking into a chair with a sigh, grabbing his coffee.
“How’d the damage control go?” you asked, tentative.
He shook his head, taking a sip of the lukewarm drink. “Tried to convince venue and management it was part of a performance. They weren’t happy, but for now they’re asking when we’ll come in to start planning the next steps. New EP. Promotion. All of that.”
Your brows knitted. “Are you guys going to continue being idols? Even if you don’t have to work for Gwi Ma anymore?”
“Fuck no,” Seungho grumbled around a mouthful of food. “I don’t like being away from you longer than I have to. And the job comes with a busy schedule…”
“You guys don’t like it?” you asked, curiosity stirring.
Hwimori perked up faintly. “I like the music part. Maybe I’ll produce or compose. Something where I don’t have to leave you.”
Seoha smirked, hand tightening at your waist. “I don’t really like the idea of marketing myself to other women. Besides…” he tilted his head, lips brushing your ear, “won’t you get jealous?”
You scoffed, crossing your arms. “Me? Jealous? I’m literally tethered to you.”
He grinned, voice low and taunting. “Mm, sure. Tell that to the thousands of girls who scream my name every night… Half of them probably write smutty fanfics about me already… or when I make eye contact with a girl in the front row and she swears I sang just for her… you gonna share me with them, angel?”
Your cheeks heated instantly. “Okay, I change my mind. It’s time for a job change.”
The boys roared with laughter, the sound vibrating through the bond, light and contagious.
Breakfast continued in a haze of food, chatter, and warmth. You found yourself smiling between bites, glancing from one boy to the other, the glow of the bond alive in every shared look.
But even amid laughter, little sparks betrayed something new. The way your fingertips brushed the table and the cutlery rattled faintly, how the steam from your tea lingered longer than it should, curling as though drawn to you.
You tried to ignore it. Tried to pretend you didn’t notice. But the others did. You felt it in the way their gazes lingered on you, puzzled, almost afraid.
You set your fork down and turned to Jinu. “What did Rumi say earlier? When they agreed to come?”
Jinu exhaled slowly, swirling water in his glass before drinking. “I asked if she knew anything else about what happens after the Ritual. Her father had some text we didn’t transcribe in the journal… maybe it holds the answers. But then she said something strange.” His brows drew together. “She said she knew someone who could probably give us what we need.”
“Oh?” You tilted your head. “Maybe another hunter?”
He shrugged, clearly uncertain.
A thought sparked, and you set your fork down. Narrowing your eyes, you asked, “So… when exactly were you having secret meetings with Rumi?”
Jinu stilled. Every pair of eyes at the table turned toward him with cheeky curiosity.
“Well…” he started, clearing his throat.
“Well…?” you pressed, crossing your arms, enjoying the way he shifted uneasily in his seat. You knew it wasn’t romantic, never for Jinu. The man was literally obsessed with you. But making him nervous and seeing him squirming was always fun.
“I was trying to get answers out of her. To exploit Huntrix’s weakness,” he admitted slowly. “I found out she was part demon months ago, and I needed to know what that meant.”
“Uh huh,” you said skeptically, arching a brow.
Beads of sweat seemed to form on his temple as he hurried on. The boys struggled to hold their snickers. “She had her father’s journal. I was helping her translate. That’s all. Nothing more.”
You leaned closer, lips quirking. “Mmhm. You’re awfully nervous for someone who claims he has nothing to hide.”
“I don’t! I swear!”
Seoha’s shoulders shook with muffled laughter against your back, his hand tightening on your waist.
And as Jinu scrambled for words, the room filled with the sound of the others’ amusement, your laughter blending with theirs until it felt like, for the first time in forever, you were exactly where you were supposed to be.
────────── ⚘ ──────────
The living room was thick with silence, the kind that hummed like static in the air, like a storm crouching just beyond the walls. The couch and chairs had never felt so small, cramming everyone into a space that seemed too fragile to contain the storm of tension inside it. Even the air felt brittle, like a wrong word might shatter it.
You tried to soften the edges with a smile, your voice light, but no amount of warmth could fully cut through the jagged stares being exchanged across the room.
Huntrix sat together in a neat line on the opposite couch, unified in posture. Mira sat stiff with her arms crossed and chin tilted high, her glare locked on Seungho, who returned it with equal fire, jaw twitching like he was daring her to blink first.
Zoey shifted between them, her bright, awkward smile hanging in the air like she was trying to plaster sunshine over a battlefield. Rumi perched on the edge, shoulders tight, her discomfort written in every line of her body, though her eyes never stopped flicking to you, concern softening her usually sharp gaze.
The boys, in contrast, were a wall around you. Jinu and Hwimori flanked you on the couch, their bodies taut as coiled springs, posture screaming shield.
Haneul stood behind you, arms folded, jaw locked so tight you thought his teeth might crack. Seoha leaned against the far wall, arms crossed, dark eyes never leaving the girls, suspicion etched deep into every line of his face. Seungho had stationed himself by the window like a guard on watch, body angled toward the exit but his gaze snapping like a dagger toward Mira every time she so much as breathed.
The silence stretched, unbearable. Even the clock on the wall seemed to tick louder than it should have.
Zoey broke first, her voice pitched too brightly, too forced. “Nice place you got here…” Her eyes swept the apartment, lingering on the shelves lined with books, the faint smell of coffee, the framed photo on the table. “You guys rent this place, or—?”
“Bought it,” Seoha muttered without sparing her a glance, his shoulders rigid.
The silence that followed was so loud you wanted to sink into the floor. Even Seungho, who had been groaning all afternoon about the audacity of inviting hunters into their home, seemed satisfied that the awkwardness was proving his point.
You cleared your throat, smoothing your palms over your thighs as if you could rub the tension out of the air. “I’m glad you guys were able to find it,” you said gently, glancing at Jinu. His expression was carved in stone.
“Well, after someone managed to break through my wards,” Jinu’s voice cut sharp, his amber eyes spearing into Rumi, “I needed to strengthen the security on this place.”
“Doesn’t help when we know your address now,” Mira shot back smoothly, her smirk all venom. “Or, you know, can just walk through the front door.”
Jinu’s jaw flexed, and you leaned forward quickly, your tone lighter. “Well, I want you guys to feel welcome here… so I had him key you into the new wards.”
Seungho scoffed. You snapped him a look sharp enough to cut glass.
Mira’s smirk only widened, slow and deliberate. “Yeah… soooo welcome.”
The tension vibrated like a plucked string until Rumi finally cleared her throat, turning her eyes on you. “So… how are you feeling?”
The question yanked every gaze to you at once. You felt the weight of it, heat prickling over your skin. You smiled softly. “I feel fine. Great, even. Lighter.” A furrow creased your brow. “But… I did notice a few strange things. I’m still getting used to what it means to be a tether. To have this… magic inside me.”
Rumi’s eyes softened. “I understand. We’ll figure this out together.”
“Do you mind telling us exactly how you feel different?” Zoey continued.
You hesitated, chewing your lip as you searched for words. “It’s… like a charged energy. Like static, always buzzing. And I think it affects things near me.” Your eyes drifted toward the boys. “I can also… sense everyone. It’s strange.”
Zoey tilted her head, curious. “What do you mean?”
“It’s like I can sense what kind of magic people carry,” you explained carefully. “Hwi feels different than Jinu. Jinu and the others feel… similar, but not the same. I think it’s because Hwi’s a soul beast.”
“Hwi?” Mira raised a brow.
Your eyes widen, “Oh- sorry, I mean, Mystery.” You pat his lap, causing him to purr at your touch.
“Ah…” Zoey let out. The girls’ eyes widened. They’d seen Hwi’s transformation last night, yes, but hearing it named hit differently. This was the first they’ve heard of a demon soul-beast.
“And yours…” your gaze shifted to them, a hand rising to rub your temple. “Yours feels ancient. Familiar, but not in the way the bond with the boys feel. Earlier, when I greeted you—it was like something inside me recognized your magic. Like it recharged me somehow.”
Zoey sat up straighter. “I felt that too. When I hugged you, it was… weird. But good weird.”
“Let’s test it,” Mira said immediately, raising a hand.
Jinu’s grip on your waist tightened, reluctant, but after a long moment he let go. You leaned forward, extending your hand. The moment your finger brushed Mira’s, a ripple shimmered over your iridescent markings, flowing outward like ripples on a pond.
Everyone sucked in a breath. Mira’s eyes glittered, fascinated. “Huh.”
Seoha’s teeth ground audibly. “What does that even mean?”
“It means she’s connected to them,” Jinu muttered, his mind already racing. “Given it was their power that had induced the transformation… it's not impossile to assume it would react to contact once they activated it.”
“I was thinking the same,” Rumi added, voice thoughtful, her chin propped in her hand. “It reacts pretty similarly to the Honmoon.”
Zoey frowned. “So… Y/N is basically the Honmoon now?” she tilts her head to the side, “What does that mean for us then? I mean— as hunters, our job was to strengthen and maintain the Honmoon... does that mean Y/N would need something from us?”
“She doesn’t need anything from you,” Seungho snapped instantly.
“Seungho,” you scolded, sharp.
Rumi’s voice stayed calm. “If the tether needs maintenance like the Honmoon did, then—”
“We’ll handle it,” Seungho growled.
Jinu pinched the bridge of his nose, exhaling through his teeth. “It’s not that simple. We don’t know what she’ll need long-term. And it was their magic that enabled this. We’d be fools to ignore that.”
Seungho muttered under his breath but fell back, leaning against the wall with a scowl. Mira smirked.
“Does this mean you’re immortal?” Hwimori asked suddenly, tilting his head like a curious puppy. "Or will the tether have to be made again if she isn't?"
The question silenced the room. You bit your lip, hands curling in your lap. “…I don’t know.”
That answer sat like a stone in everyone’s stomach.
Finally, Rumi reached into her bag and slid her father’s leatherbound journal across the table to Jinu. “There are only three pages left we never transcribed. Maybe the answers are there.”
Jinu took it, flipping through, eyes narrowing as he skimmed the demon script.
The silence stretched again. And then—
“So…” Zoey leaned forward, smirk tugging at her lips. “Seungho is it?”
Seungho’s glare could have frozen hell over. His jaw locked, eyes sharp enough to cut glass. Zoey tilted her head innocently. “Do you always look constipated, or is that face just for us?”
His nostrils flared. “You’re still alive only because she told me not to snap your neck.”
Zoey gasped, clutching her chest. “Oh my god! Did you hear that, Y/N? He threatened me, again!”
You sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose, “Seungho…”
“Cry harder,” Seungho muttered, still glaring daggers at Zoey.
Seoha clicked his tongue, surveying the three girls like they were an inconvenience on his shoe. “Do you hunters rehearse being this self-righteous, or does it just come naturally?”
Mira’s eyes narrowed. “Funny coming from someone who spends his life lip-syncing for screaming teenagers.”
Zoey burst out laughing. “Oh my god, she’s right! Do you pout in the mirror before concerts too?”
Seoha smirked lazily. “Better than punching a bag with abs taped on it.”
Mira froze, jaw dropping. “You saw that?!”
“You should really start closing your dressing room doors, you know. Other performers walk the hallways too.” Seoha teased.
Mira growled audibly, fists clenched on her lap like she wanted to kill him right then and there.
Rumi cut in smoothly before she combusted. “Honestly, you four act like children. No wonder you need her to hold your leashes.”
Haneul’s jaw twitched. “The fuck did you just say?” he growled, “Maybe if you three weren’t so loud—”
“Loud?” Mira cut in with a grin sharp as her blade. “Sorry, grandpa, should we whisper so you can nap?”
“I can always put you to sleep, right now.” Haneul threatened.
“I’d like to see you try,” Mira spat.
That broke Hwimori’s patience. He growled from next to you, voice cracking raw. “Do you people ever stop talking?”
“Gods,” you muttered, rubbing your temples. “It’s like babysitting a pack of rabid wolves and feral cats.”
At last, Jinu sighed heavily, snapping the book shut. “Nothing. Daehyun never thought this far… or maybe he didn’t need to.” His eyes slid to Rumi. “You said you knew someone who could help.”
Rumi hesitated, throat bobbing. “He… was a friend of my father’s.”
“A demon?” Haneul asked sharply.
She nodded. The boys groaned in unison.
“And how are we supposed to contact him now?” Seoha demanded, eyes darting toward you. “Through her?”
“Me?” you echoed, incredulous. “How am I supposed to get him from there?”
“Well, you are the tether…” Haneul responds.
"I've only just found out what a tether was last night," you groan, "I don't know how this shit works–"
“You don’t have to,” Rumi cut in quickly. “I already spoke with him this afternoon.” Mira and Zoey stayed silent. "He'll be able to talk to us."
The room snapped. Every head whipped toward her. “You what?” Jinu’s voice was lethal.
"How? Don't tell me–” Seoha groaned.
“I… invited him over,” Rumi said sheepishly.
Jinu looked at her, confused, "Did you not hear what I said on the phone? I said this place was warded to keep demons and anyone with magic out."
She shrugged, "He said it wouldn't be a problem–"
Before Jinu could explode, the air cracked like thunder.
You gasped as it hit you, a surge of ancient demonic energy, heavy and suffocating, pressing into your lungs like lead. The bond screamed, and the boys reacted instantly, bristling, claws and fangs flashing, every one of them snapping into defensive positions around you.
“Rumi, what the hell have you—!” Haneul barked, shoving himself in front of you, his claws lengthening.
The air split open. A fissure of darkness tore through the center of the living room, splitting reality itself. Shadows spilled like liquid, the lights flickered violently, and the scent of burning sulfur filled the air.
The energy was old. Older than Gwi Ma. It throbbed in your bones, a drumbeat that rattled your teeth and made your skin crawl.
The boys moved tighter around you, growls rumbling in their throats. Huntrix, for all their bravado, looked rattled, wide-eyed at the sudden shift.
And then he stepped through.
The Old One didn’t so much arrive as he was suddenly there. The rift peeled open, and from it stepped a man. Tall, slender, clothed in garments that shimmered faintly like silk dipped in shadow. His hair was silver-white, combed back with unnatural precision, his face clean and ageless, yet lined in just the right places to suggest wisdom rather than frailty. He looked almost regal, like an old king or a grandfatherly figure carved out of marble, his refinement so sharp it was unsettling.
But his eyes betrayed him. They were not mortal eyes. Gold threaded with black, depthless, too steady, too knowing… as if when he looked at you, he was not looking at your skin, but at every lifetime you had ever lived.
The room warped around him, reality bending politely out of his way. The light seemed to dim in deference, shadows stretching unnaturally toward his polished shoes. Even the air grew tight in your chest, each breath harder than the last, as though your lungs were no longer your own.
The bond screamed, threads thrumming with panic, the boys’ bodies trembling with the instinct to shield you. But even they knew, even as they stood in front of you, this was not something you fought. This was not just a demon. Not just a god.
It was the thing that powerd over gods, over even the demon king himself.
Slight fear gripped you as you gazed at his familiar face. You’d seen him before. Weeks ago, in that mall. His words then had clung like thorns in your mind, vague and terrifying, and now seeing him again sent your pulse racing.
At the flicker of your fear, Hwimori snarled low in his throat, the sound raw and animal. He positioned himself in front of you, shoulders squared, teeth bared, glaring daggers at the old, powerful demon as if his very hatred could tear him apart.
But to your surprise, it wasn’t just the boys bristling. Zoey and Mira stepped forward as well, weapons already alive in their hands. Zoey’s blades shimmering with a dangerous pulse, Mira’s Moon Blade glowing faint under the dim light. Both stood slightly in front of you, angled protectively, their eyes locked on the stranger.
The Old One’s eyes sparkled, amusement and intrigue twined in their golden depths as he leisurely glanced around the room.
Jinu stood frozen. His chest rose and fell shallowly, his eyes wide, lips slightly parted. He had never thought… never imagined… that this was who Rumi had been speaking of. His mind reeled at the sight.
Beside him, Haneul bristled, a low growl caught behind clenched teeth, muscles tensed to strike. Seoha’s jaw set hard, every inch of him simmering with sharp distrust. Seungho’s gaze narrowed, shoulders rigid, one hand flexing like he was resisting the urge to draw blood where he stood.
“Get back, Y/N,” Seoha ordered sharply, voice firm, eyes never leaving the Old One.
The old man tilted his head almost kindly, the faintest smile brushing his lips.
“What are you doing here, Itharos?” Jinu finally rasped, his voice hushed, cracked with disbelief.
Itharos. The name seemed to shift the air, heavy and dangerous the moment it was spoken aloud.
“I’ve only ever seen you in passing,” the old one murmured, his smile deepening. “Hello, Jinu.” His eyes twinkled, and then he bent his head slightly to the side, peering past the barricade of bodies trying to shield you. “And you too, Y/N.”
“You…” you mumbled, breath hitching, your eyes widening as the memory of that mall slammed into you. “What—?”
“He’s the old one we encountered in the mall,” Hwimori growled, every syllable venom. “I didn’t get to land a blow then. Don’t think I’ll make the same mistake twice.”
“Hello, beast,” Itharos smirked, almost indulgent. “You have nothing to worry about. I’m only here because—”
“Get out.” Haneul’s voice was gravel, sharp and cutting as a blade. His stance shifted, ready to spring.
The tension was a fuse, burning fast with both the boys and Huntrix (except for Rumi) crackling with hostility. Shadows thickened, weapons gleamed, and it felt like the room itself was about to shatter from the clash.
But before anyone could move, Rumi leapt forward, arms outstretched, blocking them from Itharos. “Wait—!”
“Rumi, step aside,” Seoha snapped, grit in his voice, anger and panic welded together.
“Wait!” Her voice cracked but carried. “He’s here to help. I asked him to come—”
“This is who you meant when you said you knew someone?!” Haneul barked, incredulous.
“Yes!” Rumi pleaded, eyes darting frantically between them. “Please, he’s the only one who knows anything about what creating the tether means.”
She looked at Jinu with urgency, almost desperation. “He was the one who told me how the ritual before failed, and how to succeed now. He knew my father. Just—please, let’s hear him out.”
Everyone froze, conflicted. The weight of her words settled like a stone in their chests.
Jinu exhaled slowly, the sound breaking the silence. His expression was weary, heavy with a knowledge only he carried. He finally spoke, his voice low, strained.
“Itharos… how are you here on this side of the realm? I thought all demons vanished when we created the tether. And more than that—” his eyes narrowed, suspicion sharp, “—how did you make it past my wards?”
Itharos chuckled softly, the sound unhurried, condescending in its calm. “You forget how old I am, boy. My essence is not bound to either realm. Nor does it adhere to magic created after its conception. Your wards will not work on me.”
The boys’ jaws clenched, their teeth gritting in frustration.
“You need answers, don’t you?” Itharos’ voice was smooth, coaxing, cutting through the tension like silk over steel. “And I am the only one old enough to provide them.”
Jinu’s gaze faltered. Against his will, he yielded, just slightly. And one by one, the others did too. All except Haneul, whose chest heaved with fury, eyes still burning like fire on the intruder.
Itharos turned his gaze toward him, smiling faintly, knowingly. “I’m only here to explain. To answer your questions. Nothing more…” His head tilted, golden eyes landing on you again, unwavering, unblinking. “Well, that and…” His voice softened, as if savoring it. “To finally meet the tether.”
Haneul’s jaw worked, grinding, but even he at last lowered his stance, though the fire in his eyes didn’t dim.
The girls were slower to yield, their weapons still firm in their hands. Zoey’s blades pulsed, Mira’s grip tight. Finally, reluctantly, they too lowered them, but did not release. Not entirely.
Mira blew out a sharp breath, glaring daggers at Rumi. “You didn’t mention how he was a literal ancient demon, Rumi.”
Rumi smiled sheepishly, wincing. “Sorry. I didn’t think you guys would agree otherwise.”
Everyone groaned or sighed, frustration mixing with unease.
“Look, we need answers, right?” Rumi pressed, voice rising. “He’s the only one who could give us that. Aren’t you at all worried for Y/N? What this means for her? How you’re still here?” She turned to the boys.
Then to the girls. “What happens to us now with the Honmoon gone…?”
Her words struck silence into the room. Everyone’s faces turned, pensive, conflicted, the weight of it pressing down.
Itharos looked at Rumi softly, his expression unreadable, but you didn’t miss the strange look in his eyes.
Your pulse thrummed. His presence was still terrifying, unsettling to your very bones. But… Rumi was right. You needed answers.
Slowly, you stepped out from behind Hwimori, who stiffened at your movement. Your heart hammered, but you nodded firmly. Itharos’ lips parted into a smile, slow and deliberate, as if fascinated by your very existence.
“Let’s hear what he has to say.”

A/N: I hope you guys enjoyed the ending I've chosen! I told y'all that I'm not one for sad, depressing endings. I already planned this ending from the start, so it was such a joy writing this one out and also fleshing out the boys' regret and apologies (desurv).
I'll be flushing out the ending next chapter to clear out what happens next and what this means for all of them.
I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter!

Summary:
The longer you are a demon the easier it is to only feel negative emotions or, worse, no emotions at all.
But there’s a legend, a whispered story of hope amongst demons, about finding a soulmate. They’re not once in a lifetime, as in if you miss them they never come back. No, many souls are old. They’ve seen multiple lifetimes. The older the soul, the more powerful they are up until a point- there comes a time when a soul reaches its epitome and moves on after their death, their final experience.
You find a soul like that, who’s also your soulmate, they say it can bring back your soul, your emotions.
Your desire to live.
But can it truly heal the curse of being controlled by Gwi-ma?

Your family home was located in the upper echelon of your region. There were few homes nearby, but you knew everyone who lived in each of them. There was one home that intrigued you more than most, and that was your nearest neighbor. They had 3 sons. You'd met them all before when your family hosted dinners. The youngest one had caught your eye. You saw him outside during your evening walks. He was always in his family's garden. Sometimes he'd be seated under a tree, other times he'd be walking around or lounging on a bench. No matter what, he carried his scrolls with him. Some days he'd be close enough that you could hear what he was saying. “Oh but as the leaves sway and my heart flutters, one look from your gaze - I'll fold like a wing.” His way with words was unlike anything you'd heard before. Anytime you heard him speak, you were enraptured. One evening, after you heard your father discussing your future endowment with another family, you slipped out the backdoor to go on a walk. You didn't want to head down the road, you were hoping that he was outside. You wandered up to the wall surrounding their back garden and leaned against it. He was there, pacing and muttering to himself. “As the sunlight catches Breaks Like ripples in the stream Golden stripes through the window Glass holding back The warmth Life giving Are these walls protection? Or a barrier?” Your arms were folded atop the bricks. You rested your chin on them as you let the words wash over you. As he turned back in his pacing, he looked up for a moment and froze, catching your gaze. You knew you should've felt some degree of shame at being caught, but this is where you wanted to be. Who knew if you would get to keep seeing this once you were married off? “Sorry, can I help you?” He asked, stepping closer to where you are. “Your words are already helping,” you replied softly. You pushed yourself off the wall, shaking your head. “I apologize. I know it's not polite to stare. I just need something to clear my mind and your way with words has always helped me.” He tilted his head, stopping less than a foot away from the wall. “You've heard my poetry before?” You nodded. “It's made me stop in my path more than once.” He put his hand to his chest, his eyes shining with mirth. “Well you flatter me. For someone as beautiful as yourself to feel my words worthy of your time is the highest compliment.” You blushed and glanced away for a moment. You felt fingers cup your chin, turning your head back to look at the handsome man. “May I someday be so lucky to write with a muse such as yourself by my side.”
A shrill ringtone penetrated your brain, bringing you back to the land of the waking. You groaned, rubbing a hand over your face while your other fumbled for your phone.
When your alarm went blissfully quiet, you finally opened your eyes fully and checked your phone.
You swiped through a few notifications as you slipped out of bed. Your morning routine always helped you wake up, and by the time you were exiting the bathroom, you were humming softly to yourself. You made sure to pick up your dream journal before heading out into the kitchen.
Grabbing mugs out of the cabinet, you were incredibly grateful for the timer on your coffee maker. It gave you just enough time to write down the dream as it finished brewing.
Ari padded out of her room and you slid her a cup of coffee as you finished adding sugar to your own. “Morning.”
Ari yawned. “Mornin’.” She took a drink of her coffee and sighed happily, leaning against the counter. “We still goin’ to that show today?”
You nodded, nursing your cup as well. “Yeah if you're still down.”
“I am,” Ari said through a yawn. “Hopefully it won't last too, too long. I gotta work closing at the music store.”
“Wait, I thought you were off today?”
Ari shrugged. “Yeah I was but Rhea texted me last night and said her cat was sick and she needed to take him to the vet today. So I'm covering her shift.”
“Aw, I hope her cat is ok,” you said.
“Hopefully he is. I'll keep you posted.” With that, Ari downed the last of her coffee. “Alright, wanna outfit plan for this lil show?”
“It's just a show-”
Ari arched an eyebrow at you. “We don't gotta go crazy but you exchanged IGs with him, dude, don't act like you aren't a little interested. Besides, we got time to kill.”
Okay maybe you wanted to look a little cute.
So the two of you spent the next hour planning your outfits and accessories. As you were putting the finishing touches on your hair, you decided to shoot a DM to Jinu.
“So the show, is it just, in the street? I couldn’t tell by the address.”
Surprisingly, you got a pretty fast response.
“Yeah just in the square there. It’s nothing huge, we just wanted to show off our new song and maybe attract a few new listeners.”
Well that answered the other question you were going to ask.
Your phone buzzed.
“You and your friend still coming?”
You suddenly had an idea. “Ari, we should take a selfie.”
“Ooh yes our fits are too cute,” she agreed easily, sliding up beside you.
You snapped a few poses and immediately texted some to Ari before picking your favorite and sending it to Jinu.
“So you can spot us in the crowd,” you captioned it.
“Should we get going? The bus should be at our stop in like 15 minutes,” Ari said.
“Yeah I'm ready,” you agreed, eyeing the DMs one more time.
It's okay that he hadn't replied. Not everyone was glued to their phones constantly. He'd met you and asked for your IG so clearly he thought you were cuteish-
Unless it was just for promo.
Which was fine, you barely knew him, it's not like you felt attached.
As you and Ari grabbed your bags and headed towards the door to slip on your shoes, your phone buzzed again. Ari stepped out the door and you followed behind, double checking you had your keys before locking it. It was only once you were outside, waiting at the bus stop, that you let yourself check your phone again.
“It'll be hard to miss someone as cute as yourself :)”
Your heart fluttered and you couldn't help but smile at your screen.
“Flatterer.”
“They say it gets you everywhere.”
“Oh really? I always heard people say it gets you nowhere.”
“Well which one is true for you?”
“It certainly doesn't hurt~”
“Y/N.”
You jumped a little and realized Ari had been trying to get your attention. “So you're gonna ask him out after the show, right?”
“Jinu?”
“Who else were you smiling at your phone about? Yes Jinu,” she laughed.
“I mean- maybe?”
Ari nudged you. “You're a fucking catch dude. And he approached you, so he's definitely interested.”
You smiled. “Thanks Ari.”
Ari smiled back as the bus approached. “Hey, it's the truth! Just save some for me if his friends are hot, alright?”
You laughed. “Will do.”
The bus ride was easy, as usual. Half way to your destination, you noticed someone enter holding a flyer for the performance you were headed to.
Maybe there'd be a decent crowd then.
Between the bus music and you and Ari chatting, it didn't take long to get to your stop. You weren't the only ones to exit, but you managed to slip through the small crowd.
“Did they say exactly where it was?” Ari asked as she walked beside you.
“Just on the street. I bet it'll be over here,” you say, pointing out the nice central spot between the stores. You and Ari found a nice bench to sit on as you waited for noon to roll around.
A few other people began to trickle into the area, all holding the same flyer you noticed on the bus. Just as you checked your phone again, you started to hear some music begin to play.
“It's starting!” Ari squealed, tugging on your arm. “Come on, let's get closer.”
A pink smoke started to form as the beat of the music picked up. You felt the urge to bob your head along. “It's catchy already,” you commented and Ari nodded.
Finally five silhouettes popped up in the smoke.
“Don't want you- need you. Yeah I need you to fill me up.”
Jinu broke through the center of the group as he sang. His eyes scanned the crowd and found yours, winking at you as he continued performing.
“Dude, they're really good,” Ari whispered into your ear and you nodded in agreement, unable to look away.
Seeing all five of them tugged at something inside of you. It was like the tug you felt when you spotted some of them in the mall, but more.
“Gotta feelin’ that, oh yeah, you could be everything that- that I need. Tastes so sweet. Every sip makes me want more, yeah.”
It felt like each of the boys could tell when you were looking at them. Each time you looked at one, shortly after they'd glance over and lock eyes with you. It never felt awkward, either. Of course you were watching them perform, and they were just working the crowd and looking around. Surely they weren't locking eyes with you specifically.
“Did Jinu tell them about you?” Ari asked softly. “They all keep looking at you.”
“They're just working the crowd,” you brushed off, partially trying to convince yourself.
Ari hummed. “Yeah, you're probably right.”
“When you're in my arms I hold you so tight, so tight. Can't let go, no, no not tonight.”
You felt your body give in to the rhythm, your shoulders bouncing along to the beat. This was their debut song? It was so catchy you would've thought they'd been making music for years.
Plus their dancing? Clearly they worked hard on it. It was so seamless.
Throughout the song, you kept locking eyes with the boys. It was always just one of them, but they all kept looking back, as if worried you were gonna disappear.
That was until all five looked at you, almost as if they were singing directly to you.
“Cause I need you to need me.
I'm empty, you feed me.
So refreshing.
My little soda pop.”
They all five winked at you before the trance was broken.
“Crowd work she says,” you hear Ari grumble playfully. You elbow her, suppressing a blush at her light teasing.
It was easy to get lost in the beat of the song, enjoying the light show as the crowd grew larger. You didn't remember seeing a built-in stage in the ground earlier, but maybe you'd just overlooked it.
The boys ended above the crowd, which was cheering wildly.
The boys kept glancing at you, and while you were looking at one of them, you noticed Jinu dust something off his shoulder out of the corner of your eye. Weird.
“That's it for now,” Jinu announced as the boys stood back together again. “See you tonight on everyone's favorite variety show. Saja boys love you!”
The boys all made hearts with their fingers before the same pink smoke cloud appeared and they were gone.
“Man they didn't even come say hi after inviting you slash us here?” Ari said, crossing her arms.
You shrugged, glancing around as if you knew they weren't truly gone. “I mean, the crowd got pretty rowdy. They probably didn't expect that.”
People were starting to disperse, all excitedly talking about the show, when you heard your name called nearby.
You looked around, your eyes almost instinctively checking a nearby alleyway. Sure enough, the five boys were tucked in there, though this time they had hoodies and hats on as if to disguise themselves.
You tugged Ari's sleeve, dragging her along as you headed over to them.
“See, they didn’t just up and leave,” you said quietly. “They just didn't want to get mobbed.”
You gave a small wave as you neared the alley, stepping just inside before smiling at all of them. “That was a great show guys!” You said, trying to keep your voice down. “I don't think I've met all of you yet, I'm Y/N and this is my friend Ari.”
Ari waved. “Nice to meet you! That was such a fun song. It was awesome.”
“We're glad you liked it,” Jinu said. “I know Y/N and I have already met, but I'm Jinu.”
“I'm Abby.”
“I'm Romance,” one said with a wink.
“I'm Baby,” the teal haired one said with a barely suppressed sigh.
“I'm Mystery,” the final one, with hair covering his eyes, greeted softly.
“It's nice to meet you all,” you said with a slight bow, the boys bowing back.
“We were just about to go grab a bite to eat since we have some time to kill before the variety show tonight.” Jinu said. “Do you two wanna join?”
“I unfortunately have to go back to our place to get ready for work,” Ari replied with a sad sigh. “But you guys have fun! I'll definitely put on Play Games With Us at my work tonight to see your shenanigans.”
“Text me when you get back home, okay?” You told Ari.
“I will,” Ari agreed before smirking. “Just make sure to save some for me.” She glanced at the boys and then back at you with a wink.
You shoved her playfully and she laughed before saying her goodbyes and heading off.
And just like, it was just you and the five boys. Despite not knowing them very well, you felt perfectly safe with them, which was a nice feeling.
“So where to?”
“It's a place just down the road,” Jinu said, gesturing with his head.
“Their odeng was top notch,” Abby chimed in.
“Well, you can't top some good odeng,” you laughed. “Lead the way!”

Could I please request a hurt/comfort where reader has been dating the boys (separate, but poly’s great too if you write it) unaware of their nature as demons? Reader finds out and feels used/betrayed and they have to explain that their feelings are really are genuine and then they cuddle? Thxx!!
-Truth Unveiled-
。 ₊°༺The Saja Boys when you realize their true nature༻°₊ 。
-°• Contents: a compilation of comforting headcanons on how the Saja Boys react to you finding out they’re demons.
-°• Warnings: slight angst (with comfort!), tears
-°• Bribri Speaks!: Thank you so much for this request!! I experimented with a slightly different style for this, so I hope you enjoy it!

Jinu Saja:
•❤︎₊ ⊹ It had been a minor argument; a spat, at worst. He had forgotten your date night. It was nothing relationship-endings, just a simple slip of the mind.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Jinu had been busy, you could understand that. It had bothered you that he hadn’t remembered the occasion, and he was irritated with himself for similar reasons. Nonetheless, it wasn’t a massive ordeal.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ However, the real trouble ensued when you saw a flash of gold in his eyes. A brief flicker. A momentary slip of his spell. But you had seen it.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Long ago, your parents had engrained the signs of demon-hood into your brain. After your aunt had her soul consumed by one of those devilish beings, your parents had been terrified it may happen to you, too.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You gasp, a hand clasping itself over your mouth as you stumble back. You stumble back, nearly knocking the trash can over in your frightened back trodding.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Jinu had slipped. He see it in the horrified glimmer of your eyes. His own pair widened, and he holds an arm out, as if calming a cornered animal.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Sweetheart- wait-“ Before he can even finish that sentence, you launch a plate at his head, which he catches.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Are- you’re a- a-“ you couldn’t bring yourself to say the words, your erratic heartbeat drowning out any logical statements. Tears welled in your eyes, the seeds of betrayal leaking down your cheeks and taking root in the floor boards.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You had told each other everything; your deepest thoughts, worries, fears. The fact he had hidden something this crucial hurt more than words could express.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You hadn’t realized you were on the brink of collapse till strong arms caught you on the way down. You vaguely feel him guide you to the couch, pulling you to rest on the familiar cushions.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Jinu felt a familiar dread setting in his stomach, the same kind as when he forgot to take out the trash for the umpteenth time. He grabs you a glass of cold water, gently pressing it to your lips in hopes of grounding you.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ He kneels before you, his hand resting on your knee, watching you process his true nature in real time. He swipes at the tears treading down your cheeks, his heart aching miserably at the sight.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “How…how could you?” You finally choke out, staring at him with those glassy eyes. Their depths swirl with pure betrayal, showcasing every unbridled emotion that flits through your heart.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Sweetheart, this doesn’t change anything,” he says softly, trying desperately to reason with you.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You’re a demon!” You hiss, utter devastation lacing every syllable.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “A demon who loves you very much,” he replies, gently squeezing your knee. This was his biggest fear since the beginning of your relationship. However, he couldn’t bring himself to tell you before; risking the ruin of this beautiful thing they had.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Your breath hitches at his words, your eyes widening once again. His declaration only causes you to cry harder, shaky, broken sobs wracking your whole body. Had you not been so emotionally wrecked, perhaps you would’ve been embarrassed for bawling in such a manner.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Jinu is instantly moving, wrapping his arms tightly around your form.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ For a moment, he fears you may reject him and pull away. However, much to his surprise, you curl closer to him, burying your snotty nose in his chest. His heart cracks at the loud wails you emit, gently carding his fingers through your hair. You could despise him, if you so desired, but he’d always be there to comfort you.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ When your sobs finally subside, the two of you lie there for a moment, just clinging to one another. After a long beat of silence, you speak up in that small, tear-addled voice.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You love me?”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Jinu couldn’t help but chuckle at the fact that was the first thing on your mind after such a reveal. The pair of you hadn’t said that magical word yet, even six months into dating. You had wanted to save such heartfelt words for the perfect time. Yet, in a moment of pure desperation, Jinu had blurted it.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Yes,” he replies simply, continuing to carefully run his fingers through your tresses.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “In that case, you can stay,” you whisper, nuzzling your face back into his neck.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ He can’t help the small smile that graces his lips, his arms looping securely around you. He presses a soft kiss to the top of your head, his cheek pressing against your hair.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “I’ll stay as long as you’d like.”
Abby Saja:
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You weren’t meant to be home. You had returned early from your typical morning run, sweat-slicked and breathing hard.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Evidentially, Abby hadn’t heard your entrance. Something you attested to the fact you could still hear his aggressive workout music blaring through his surround-sound speakers.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You pad through the house, heading straight to the source of the sound; his at-home gym.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ The moment you find him, shirtless and soaked in perspiration, you stop dead in your tracks.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ One would think you were simply admiring the beauty that was your dear boyfriend. However, the reality was that you had just discovered his skin was covered in violet tiger-stripes; the tell-tale signs of demonic nature.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Your water bottle clatters to the ground, the sound causing him to abruptly turn around. His eyes meet yours, and for a tense beat, the both of you can only stare in shock.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Then, without your consent, your legs are swiftly carrying you out of the room. Your body was acting purely on instinct; driven by a confounding mixture of hurt and betrayal.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Abby quickly trails after you, cutting you off at the intersection of the two halls.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Woah! Babe, wait, let’s just talk about this!”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “About what?! The fact you’ve secretly been a demon?” You spit the words with unbridled venom, a tone you never thought you’d have to use on him. You attempt to push past him, but his arms wrap tightly around you.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You’re not moving until we talk about this,” he states, tightening his vice-like grip around your body. You didn’t speak for a moment, hoping he’d relent when he saw your hesitance. Nonetheless, he held firm in his stance. He navigates over to the living room, maneuvering you to sit on the couch, his arm still firmly around you.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Look,” he sighs, running his free hand through his hair. “I’ve never done anything to harm you. I’ve never attempted to take your soul. I’ve always been careful with you.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ He pauses, taking a deep breath to gather his thoughts. His two fingers gently hook under your chin, tipping your chin to gaze up at him. The tears glistening in your eyes absolutely destroy him, and he tugs you closer, pressing a careful kiss to your forehead.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Does my identity have to change this? Us? Because I love you, no matter if I’m a human or a demon or a unicorn.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You can’t help the chuckle that bubbles from your throat at his silly remark, wiping at the tears leaking down your cheeks.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “No. I’m still upset you didn’t tell me, though,” you sniffle, finally returning his embrace.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “I’ll make up for it,” he replies, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. His arms tighten around you, slowly rocking you both back and forth.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You’re such a dummy,” you snort.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Sureeee, babe. But I’m your dummy.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Mmmm. Yes. My dummy.”
Baby Saja:
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You had never seen Baby so frantic. He was always alternating between one of two personas; either his cute, child-like facade, or his typical sarcastic self. However, you had never seen him as truly desperate as he currently was.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ He was crying, for the first time in all the time you had known him. Both on-stage and off, you never saw him cry in such a manner. They were hideous, more unrestrained than the fat tears that leaked down your face.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Wait,” he gasped. This wasn’t Baby. This was a man of desperation. A man who was trying to frantically cling to the one good thing in his life. “Please.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You didn’t stop, continuing your onward march to the door. You felt hurt. Betrayed. Violated.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Despite your determination to escape his grasp, the next words he utters cause you to pause.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Please. I need you.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Perhaps it was the sheer panic in his tone. Or maybe it was the fact you had never heard him so fearful, but you found yourself pausing your escape, turning to face him.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You lied to me,” you say, valiantly attempting to keep your voice from trembling, but ultimately failing. “Why?”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “No- I didn’t lie! I-“ he cuts himself off, realizing that another fib would only serve to dig him deeper into this trench. After a shaky, grounding breath, he gently takes your hands, tugging you away from the doors.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Because I was scared it would ruin everything,” he whispers. You had never heard him so vulnerable. Even in the most intimate of moments, he still had a barrier around his heart. Apparently, this was the barrier in question. “Because I love you too much.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “My life is constantly changing, from bad to worse. But you’re my one good thing.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Your breath hitches at his declaration, any resolve that remained quickly fizzling out. You practically collapse into him, your body wrapping tightly around his.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You didn’t know quite how long you had stood there, but it felt like an eternity. Both of your tears had ceased, leaving two trembling lovers in the moonlight. Baby clung to you as though you were the only thing tethering him to humanity as a whole.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ And perhaps, you were.
Romance Saja:
•❤︎₊ ⊹ The pair of you had been in the midst of an amorous date-night; accompanied by dimmed lights and rose-scented candles.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Romance had been preparing this day for months; right down to the heart shaped strawberries. He had decided that tonight would be the night he informed you of his true nature. The mere thought had him quaking in his designer boots. However, he knew this revelation was inevitable, and he’d prefer if it came about on his terms.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ So, he had devised this perfect scheme. After the delicious dinner spread he had designed, he lead you into the bedroom. Not for anything scandalous, as one may assume, but for something far more intimate.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “My heart, I need you to close your eyes for me,” he whispers, his voice slightly more breathless than what you were accustomed to. Still, you comply, your eyes fluttering shut.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ In a plume of imperceivable smoke, Romance is metamorphosed into his natural form; fuchsia skin streaked with lavender.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Open your eyes.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ For a moment after your eyes refocus, you can’t quite process what you’re seeing. Your boyfriend is more pink than his hair, which was rather astounding to voice aloud.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You…what?” You were more confused than anything, unable to reconcile this Romance with the one who had been here just moments ago.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “This may come as a shock, my love, but I’m a supernatural being,” he explains, gently squeezing your hands in an act of reassurance. “I’m a demon.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ The words take a long moment to sink in. And even as they do, it takes an even more extensive period for you to understand them.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ There were no messy tears, no screams or cries. There was, however, a prolonged silence.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Beloved?” He asks, giving your hands another squeeze, drawing you out of your contemplative state.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “I’m thinking, Ro,” you explain, your eyes glazed with vaguely hidden thoughts.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You’re not angry?” He inquires, rather stunned by this lackluster reaction.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “No,” you hum, a soft smile gracing your lips. You curl up against him, your legs tangling with his own violet-stained ones.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Shocked, but not entirely displeased with your response, he wraps his arms around you, tucking you close against his chest. He was internally overjoyed at your acceptance of his nature, a giddy smile tugging at his lips.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Frankly, I find it rather attractive.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Romance can’t help but chuckle softly at your admission.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Of course you’d find his nature attractive.
Mystery Saja:
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You had been tidying up around the house, nothing abnormal for a Saturday morning.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Upon entering Mystery’s room to retrieve his laundry, you found his journal open on his neatly made bed. You hadn’t intended to snoop. However, curiosity killed the cat, and it certainly got its claws into you.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You tread over the his bedside, idly flipping through the slightly browned pages. This venture was aimless, inquisitiveness winning out over logic.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Despite not having had intention in looking through the book, you quickly found something worth your full attention.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ Written in his familiar wobbly script, in plain sight, is a phrase that chills you to the bones.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ ‘How do I tell her I’m a demon?”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You’re instantly furious and hurt, snapping the book shut and marching out to find him. The man in question was found reading a book in the living room, seeming incredibly tranquil for someone who was just revealed to be a supernatural creature.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You hurl the journal at his face, eliciting a quiet yelp from him. He stares down at the diary, then at you, then back at the journal. If he had any external reaction, you couldn’t tell, due to his long curtain-esc bangs.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “Wanna tell me something, demon?” You spit. You couldn’t decide whether you wanted to seethe in fury or cry in anguish. Both feelings were quite prominent at this moment.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ He gazes up at you for a long moment, as if weighing his options. Without any verbal acknowledgment, a sudden poof of pink smoke is erected around him.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ The moment the smoke parts, and you can see him clearly, you gape. There, his soft, peachy skin you had traced so many times had been recolored magenta; marred with lavender scars and unnaturally glowing.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ He stands, taking your stunned silence as permission to move towards you. Then, without waiting for a response, he wraps his arms tightly around you, his chin resting atop your head. You can feel the erratic beating of his heart, which betrays his inner turmoil.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ After a long beat of contemplation, you wrap your arms around him, returning the meaningful embrace. He feels significantly colder than usual, perhaps a testament to his demonic nature. However, he still smells like home; his hold a sanctuary.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ “You deserve to see all of me,” he whispers, that soft, airy voice you so rarely heard gracing your ears. “No matter what I am, I still adore you.”
•❤︎₊ ⊹ You let out a shaky breath, burying yourself in his vice-like grip. You could ask your myriad of questions some other time. In this moment, you just needed him to hold you.
•❤︎₊ ⊹ And hold you, he did.
Hey there readers! This was a long one, so thank you for making it to the end. Just a reminder that my request box is always open! And I’m currently working on my current requests. Thank you, and love you all! ♡

you give him a (hershey’s) kiss

🎐 MYSTERY
Mystery raises a brow, his usual cool demeanor hiding his curiosity.
“Mm. Sure.” He leans slightly closer, expectant but not desperate.
You drop the Hershey’s Kiss in his palm.
For a long beat, he just stares at it. Then at you. His lips twitch, caught between amusement and disbelief.
“Cute,” he mutters finally, shaking his head. He unwraps it, pops it in his mouth, and smirks.
“But you’re not escaping me. I’ll take both kinds.”
🌀 BABY
Baby shrugs coolly, pretending not to care.
“Yeah, sure.” His lips twitch, fighting a smirk, like he’s already expecting the real thing.
You place a Hershey’s Kiss in his hand.
He stares down at it, then back up at you with narrowed eyes.
“That’s messed up.” His voice is flat, but his ears are burning red.
He unwraps the candy, eats it in silence, and mutters, “Better give me the other kind now or we’re fighting.”
🌷 ROMANCE
Romance lights up instantly, dramatic as ever.
“Ah, my darling finally offers to grace me with their lips.” He closes his eyes, tilting his head like he’s in a fairytale, hand pressed over his chest.
You slip a Hershey’s Kiss into his palm.
He opens one eye, sees the candy, and gasps like he’s been betrayed.
“You wound me! A jest at my expense?”
But even as he puts on his theatrics, he unwraps it, eats it, and sighs happily. “Fine. Sweet enough…but not as sweet as what I was promised.”
He leans in closer, clearly fishing for the real thing.
🍿 ABBY
Abby grins wide, his boyish energy lighting up.
“Obviously.” He even puckers up dramatically, waiting for you to close the gap.
Instead, you press a Hershey’s Kiss into his hand.
His face drops, lips still comically puckered. Then he bursts into laughter so loud your sides ache from hearing it.
“You—you’re evil!” he manages between laughs, tossing his head back.
Still, he unwraps the candy and eats it with a grin, eyes sparkling.
“Fine. But I’m still collecting my real kiss later, no take-backs.”
🎶 JINU
Jinu smirks, leaning in expectantly, eyes half-lidded with that confident, idol charm he always wore around you. “Always.”
You drop the tiny foil-wrapped Hershey’s into his palm.
He freezes. Blinks. Looks from the candy to you.
“Seriously?” His ears turn red despite his attempt to stay composed.
A laugh bursts out of him as he tears the wrapper.
“You’re lucky I needed a sweet fix. But next time, don’t think this gets you out of giving me the real thing.”
ending my posting frenzy tonight with fluffff

You Don’t Say “I Love You” Back
Jinu
It started innocently. You had seen a prank on the internet, and you had immediately thought of your boyfriend. How would he react? You always made a point to make sure “I love you” was the last thing you said to him, whether it was him running out for an errand or simply going to sleep at night. You had never not said it. It was almost ritualistic at this point. You giggled to yourself as you watched Jinu from the corner of your eye, scrolling on your phone to look like you were busy.
“Okay! I’m headed out for rehearsals. There’s food in the fridge for you, and I’ll be back before you know it! I love you!” He smiles, leaning down to brush his lips against the top of your head.
You nodded, absently scrolling through reels on Instagram, most of them filled with cats. “Okay, babe!” you respond cheerfully.
Jinu froze in his tracks, already halfway to the door. He stayed there for a few seconds, as if waiting for you to remember. Finally, he turned, glancing at you suspiciously? “Everything okay?” he asked gently.
“Of course! Have fun!” you respond nonchalantly, not even glancing up from your phone. He stares, eyes widening in concern.
“Wha- I mean… did I do something?” he asks, returning to kneel in front of you gently, eyes full of worry.
Your eyes shoot to his, shocked at the reaction. You didn’t expect this. “Why in the world would you think that, love?” you ask, abandoning your phone to cup his cheeks gently. He leans in immediately, hands cradling yours around his face.
You didn’t say ‘I love you’,” he mumbles, searching your face for any sign of anger or disappointment, still worried he had done something wrong. “You always say it back.” His voice sounded broken, as if not hearing those three little words had torn something precious away from him. You couldn’t take it.
You immediately started peppering his face with kisses, murmuring apologies in between. “I’m so sorry, Jinu. It wasn’t anything, a stupid prank. Of course I love you!” you exclaim, planting your lips on his firmly. You felt him relax into the kiss, hands coming up to cradle your face. “I love you so much, bug,” you sigh against his lips.
He hums against you, a smile twitching at the corners of his lips. “Good,” he says, leaning his forehead against yours. “Don’t ever do that again.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abby
When you and Abby proclaimed your love for each other, it usually ended up as a competition. One of you would say it, the other would claim to love the other more, and on and on until you were both giggling and describing the unimaginable ways you outdid your love for each other. It was comical, really. But today, you had other plans.
“Babe! I’m headed to the gym! I love you!” he says, smirking at you as he puffs out his chest, waiting for you to challenge him. Instead, you simply hummed and nodded your head.
“Good luck,” you say, keeping your focus on the show you were watching. The reaction was instant. He jerked like his brain was short-circuiting, staring at you like he couldn’t figure out what was happening. He looked around the room, then back to you.
“I said, I love you!” His voice was slightly louder, more high pitched than usual, as if he wanted to make sure you had actually heard him. He waited, head tilted like a puppy waiting for a treat.
You glanced up at him, trying hard to keep your giggle at bay. “And I said good luck.”
His gaze sharpened, and a smirk took over his face. “So we’re playing it like that, are we?” he asked. You had no time to regret your actions before he was hauling you over his shoulder. You were faced with a view of his back and behind as he picked you up, swatting your ass harshly. “You did this to yourself, sweetheart!”
He was running and jumping around the room, bouncing you on his shoulder as you shrieked and giggled. You could barely hold yourself up, your stomach hurting from the laughter. “Say you love me!” he’d shout every few steps, swerving and dodging around your furniture like a maniac.
“You can’t make me!” you scream, laughter bubbling up behind the words. That only made him crazier. He launched himself over the couch as you shouted, grunting at the impact. After a few minutes, he stops, panting and giggling with you as he collapses on the floor, you held snuggly against his chest.
You look up at him, eyes shining, sweat dripping down both your faces from the effort. You smile, leaning up to place a soft kiss against his mouth. His chest rumbles against you, sending vibrations through your whole body.
“Do you love me, sweetheart?” he asks playfully.
“Yes, Abby,” you breathe, “I love you.” He smiles, and leans down to kiss you again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Romance
Romance loved telling you how much he loved you. Whenever he got the chance, he said it. Whispered sweetly in your ear in the morning, texts during the day lamenting about missing you, grand proclamations when he got to come home to you. He loved loving you as much as he loved breathing. And yet hearing those words from your lips sent him straight to a heaven he had never imagined. It was euphoric, addicting. Your love was the only thing that kept him going.
“I have a photoshoot today, lovey, but I promise to take you for ice cream later, okay?” he said as he got his bag ready, looking around for his sunglasses. “I love you so much, my darling!”
You nodded, smiling gently at him. “Bye, baby,” you say, cheerfully, returning to your work without a second glance.
Romance’s heart nearly stopped. “Why didn’t you say it back?” he asks, voice breaking dramatically.
“Hmm?” you ask absentmindedly.
His pout could rival the cutest puppies in the world. He sinks to his knees beside your chair, hands reaching to turn your face to his, forcing your attention on him. “I said I love you, and you didn’t say it back,” he whines, tilting his head dramatically.
You can’t help but giggle at his drama, resting your hand on his shoulder. “I’m sorry, baby. I wasn’t paying attention!” you insist, rubbing your hand up his neck, trying to comfort him. He continues to pout at you, gripping your chin harder.
“That’s unacceptable, my love. I need to hear you say it! I’ll be lost without your love! I’ll die! I’ll whither away right here on this floor, I swear-” you cut his ramble off with a burst of laughter. You lean down, gently resting your forehead against his.
“I’m sorry, Romance. I love you, so, so, so much.” He eases up slightly.
“How much?” he asks, tilting his head, eyes shining mischievously.
“More than the ocean loves the moon,” you murmur, lips ghosting across his cheek. He sighs, leaning into you.
“That’s more like it,” he whispers, thumb stroking across your cheek. He smiles at you as if you’d hung the sun in the sky. “I love you, my darling.” You smile, lips meeting his. The kiss was soft, reverent, like he was proving to you how much his world revolved around you. His angel, his muse, his reason for being. He sighed when you parted, whining softly. “I don’t want to leave you now!”
You giggle, pulling away and gently pushing him toward the door. “Go, baby. I promise I’ll be here when you get back. I love you, too.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mystery
Mystery didn’t speak much. He didn’t need to. His love was steady, constant. He showed he loved you in the way he took care of you. In the tea that found its way into your hand just before bed, in the books that appeared on your nightstand when you’d only mentioned them in passing. You had gotten used to being the only one who really said the words, and you said them as often as you could to make sure he knew that you loved him.
It was a rainy day, and you had causally mentioned being out of milk. Mystery took one look at you before reaching for his keys and heading for the door. You giggled, shaking your head as you went back to reading the book you had just started. “Be careful, Myst,” you say as he opens the door. You don’t notice that he hasn’t left until you reach for another sip of tea, only to jump when you see him still standing there. Watching, waiting. “Myst?” you question gently.
“You didn’t say it,” he murmured. His hand was hovering above the handle, his posture was stiff and uncertain.
“What?” you say, not catching his meaning quite yet.
He was in front of you in an instant, eyes sharp and bright beneath his bangs. “Is it because I don’t say it?” he whispers, eyes darting across your face. You gasp, dropping your book into your lap.
“Myst, no! No, no, no! It isn’t like that, I just-”
“I love you,” he cuts you off, and you gasp. He reaches a careful hand out, grasping yours gently, as if he was worried he would break you. You feel tears welling up in your eyes, and he whines, pressing his other palm against your cheek. “I love you,” he says more firmly.
You let out a watery laugh. “I didn’t mean to not say it,” you explain, your hand reaching up to brush the hair away from his eyes so you could see the clearer. “I was just distracted. I didn’t want to force you to say it or anything.”
He presses further against you, as if he wanted to crawl into your soul and burrow so deep he’d never be forgotten. “I wanted to say it,” he whispered, bringing your hand up to brush his lips against it. “I want to say it more. I love you.”
You smile at him, leaning your head into his hand. “I love you too, Mystery.”
Both the milk and the book forgotten, he crawls up beside you on the chair, curling into you like a lifeline. You lean into him, sighing gently, letting the rain against the window lull you both to sleep. You could get milk later.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Baby
Baby said “I love you” like it was the most obvious thing in the world. He said it like you shouldn’t even need to ask, but knows you need to hear it anyway. He’s grumpy and demanding, often teasing you when you ask if he loves you, but he’ll stand by you through your worst and bring you your favorite snacks to show you he cares. He loves you stubbornly.
“I’m going out for snacks, want anything?” he asks, already making for the door.
You shake your head, focused on the game level you had been stuck on for hours. “No thanks!” you shout back, cursing as you once again fall off the edge and die.
“Kay, love you!” he shouts. It takes all of two seconds before he’s in front of you, blocking your view of the screen.
“Baby!” you shout, trying to look around him at the screen, “What are you-”
“Say it back.” he demands firmly, eyes hardening as he stares at you.
“What the hell?” you curse, throwing your controller to the side as you fail the level again. “You just made me-”
“Say. It. Back,” he repeats, voice gruff. He crosses his arms and you almost roll your eyes at him.
“Jeez, Baby, you are really living up to your name right now.” you shrug, standing up so you can square off with him better. “Are those words really worth this reaction?”
He scoffs, stepping into your space, crowding against you. “You think I’m playing?” he murmurs. “Say it back before I get annoyed.” Something in his voice makes you shiver, and you force yourself not to shrink away from him.
“Fine. I love you! Better?” He smirks, stepping away from you slightly.
“Was that so hard, babe?” he asks, and you flip him off. He chuckles as he leans in, pressing a quick kiss to the corner of your mouth. “Keep being good, and I’ll reward you later.” He turns, ignoring the indignant curses you sputter out as he heads for the door. You pout, crossing your arms as you sit down and pick your controller back up. By the time he comes home, you’ve failed the level 56 more times. He laughs when you blame him.

I cannot get enough of your writing! I know this is like a weird one, with like a weird number of ways to go with it, but like could I request the saja boys + huntr/x reactions to running into the real you right after having just interacted with a fake you conjured by Gwi-Ma?????
Running into imposter Y/N created by Gwi-ma and then running into the real Y/N - Saja Boys & Huntrix
(Thank you! And sorry, it's really dialogue heavy and a little repetitive 🥲)
Masterlist
Jinu
"Y/N? I just saw you…"
"Jinu, what are you talking about? I just got here?" Your confused expression makes him stop and huff, pulling you into his arms.
"I think I just ran into a fake you."
"What? A fake me?"
"Gwi-ma's fucking with me again."
Mystery
Mystery glares when he sees you. After all, you were quite rude to him just a few minutes ago.
"Myst!"
"Oh, now it's Myst? It wasn't like that just a few minutes ago."
"A few minutes… Mystery, what are you talking about? I've been backstage with Huntrix for like a half hour now."
"No, I just talked to you!"
"That's impossible. I swear, whatever you talked to wasn't me."
He's quiet for a moment, processing before responding.
"Sorry. Fake you wasn't very nice to me."
Romance
"Y/N? Are you feeling okay now?"
"Huh? I'm fine, Ro. Why do you ask?"
"You just told me you were feeling a little sick, and then rushed off to the bathroom. You even dodged my kiss- are you sure you're feeling okay?" He places a hand on your forehead.
"I've been in the dressing room with the girls… are you okay?"
"….Huh. I think I spoke to a fake you."
"What?!"
"No wonder they wouldn't let me kiss them, it wasn't you after all."
Abby
"Y/N? I thought you were going home," Abby looks confused.
"No? I'm hanging out here with the girls, remember?"
"But you told me you're going home just a minute ago."
"No? I've been in the room the whole time, are you feeling alright? Maybe Gwi-ma is messing with your head."
"I think you're right, actually. He can create false doubles."
"He can what?!"
Baby
“What’s up? Thought you left.”
“No?? I’m hanging out with the girls today.”
“Oh? Okay,” He catches on to what’s going on pretty quickly.
“Why? Did you see me twice or something?” You joke.
“Nah. Don’t worry about it, Y/N. Have fun hanging out with the girls,” Baby reassures you that everything is fine, not wanting to worry you with Gwi-ma’s nonsense.
Zoey
Zoey looks a little down when you approach her.
"Zo, what's the matter?"
"Like you wouldn't know."
"No, I don't know?" Your genuinely confused tone convinces her.
"Must've been Gwi-ma… making a fake you, like last time…" she sighs.
"A fake me?"
"A mean one."
Mira
Mira pulls her weapon on you, blade close to your face.
"What have you done with Y/N?"
"What?? I am Y/N."
"If you're really Y/N, name the dessert we had last night at dinner!"
"Peach cobbler!" You hold your hands up.
"Ah. I think I had it backwards, I'm sorry honey," she puts her weapon away.
"I just saw a fake you. Conjured by Gwi-ma. But I thought you were the fake instead, since I'd just seen you…"
Rumi
"Y/N? What are you doing here? I just saw you leave?"
"I didn't?"
She catches on right away, eyes widening. She pulls you into her arms protectively.
"I think Gwi-ma is messing with me. He created a fake you. Don't worry, I'll protect you if he tries anything else."
"A fake me?!"

When Darkness Finally Meets the Light (Behind the Scenes - Chapter 1)
Hello! So this isn't a full fic update, but I basically have little blurbs I sometimes write alongside the chapters and I thought it'd be fun to share them <3 They're canon but, in my opinion, not strictly necessary to read alongside the story. More like a fun way to peer more into the lore of the world <3
So these two snippets specifically go alongside chapter 1! (You should read that first if you haven't!)
This is a Saja Boys x Reader reincarnation/soulmate fic :)
(Thank you all for all the interest so far!! You're so kind <3)
(masterlist)
-- At the Mall --
“Ah come on Baby, it’s not that bad.” Abby teased lightly, resting his elbow on Baby’s shoulder.
Baby scoffed, about to make a comment on how they didn’t have to act like a child when he spotted her.
She was standing in the aisle and her soul-
It was one of the brightest he’d seen, but that wasn’t even what caught his attention first.
What he noticed was how it wanted to pull him in.
As he was about to move forward and go say hi, she suddenly blushed and turned away, heading down the aisle.
Abby grabbed his arm as his body unconsciously took a step to follow her. He turned around, fangs bared, eyes flashing yellow. When he looked at the other demon, though, he noticed that Abby was staring after where she’d just been.
“Did you feel it too?” He asked, voice still a little raspy as he settled back into his human form.
Abby shook his head as if he was coming out of a trance before looking down at Baby. “I did.”
-- At the Saja Boys House --
“What do you MEAN you talked with her???”
Jinu didn’t flinch when Baby screeched in his face. Abby was holding him back, and the only reason Baby didn’t lash out at him is because he was leaning in towards Jinu, too.
“Are you sure it was the same person? What are the chances we all feel a pull towards one soul?” Abby questioned, trying to get a look at Jinu’s phone screen.
“It would certainly be an explanation for our… connection,” Mystery drawled, gesturing towards the group with a flick of their wrist.
“Show me the damn picture Jinu,” Baby snarled.
Jinu sighed. “You guys are so dramatic,” he said as he tapped on a picture and flipped the screen around.
Baby and Abby smushed their faces together trying to get closer to the screen.
“Is that her?” Jinu asked, leaning his head on his other hand.
Baby and Abby’s eyes both snapped up to meet his. “Yes,” they said in sync.
Baby’s eyes immediately shifted gold again, but Abby was ready. “You got to TALK TO HER while I was being forced to play DRESS UP DOLL? Abby put me DOWN.”
“Maiming Jinu, or the house, isn’t going to get you to talk to her sooner,” Abby growled, muscles straining to hold back the slightly smaller demon.
“It’ll make me feel better,” Baby growled, but he stopped struggling as much. He instantly whipped out his phone, fingers moving rapid fire. “You don’t get to keep her for yourself-”
“I never said-”
“-so I followed her on Instagram, too.”
Jinu ran a hand over his face. “Okay, but we can’t all just, dive bomb her DMs.”
“If she even is connected to myself and Mystery,” Romance interjected.
“Oh so you get to talk to her?” Baby asked.
“Yes because I already have talked to her, so it wouldn’t be weird.”
“We can’t scare her off,” Abby agreed just before Baby could launch himself at Jinu again.
“AGH! Fine. FINE, whatever, I'm gonna go play Valorant.” Baby grumbled, all but stomping back to his room.
Abby immediately slid up next to Jinu. “So what’s her @ again?”
