*देवशिशु ने जगायी सदबुद्धि!*
यह घटना १९९० की है, जब मैं परम वन्दनीया माताजी से दीक्षा लेकर पहली बार नवरात्रि अनुष्ठान में था। गायत्री दीक्षा लेने एवं नवरात्रि में अनुष्ठान करने के कारण मैंने मांस- मछली खाना बंद कर दिया। मैं एक बार दाल रोटी चटनी और शाम को फलाहार लेने लगा। इसके चलते परिवार के सभी सदस्य, माता- पिता भाई, मेरी अर्द्धांगिनी को छोड़ कर सभी, मुझसे नाराज रहने लगे और बातचीत बंद कर दी।
नवरात्रि के अंतिम दिन की बात है। मेरा पाँच वर्ष का भतीजा अमित अचानक किसी कारण से डर गया। वह बुरी तरह रोने-चिल्लाने लगा। जो भी उसे गोद में उठाने जाता, वह छिटककर उससे दूर जा खड़ा होता और आँखें फाड़कर उसकी ओर देखने लगता। दादा-दादी, माता-पिता सभी परेशान हो गए।
बच्चा जोर-जोर से चिल्ला रहा था - तुम लोगों के इतने बड़े-बड़े दाँत हैं, तुम लोग मुझे खा जाओगे, मैं तुम्हारे पास नहीं आऊँगा। सभी हतप्रभ थे, कुछ समझ नहीं पा रहे थे। मैं जप में बैठा था। करीब आधे घण्टे से यह सिलसिला चल रहा था।
आखिर में थक हारकर सब लोग मुझे पुकारने लगे- शंकर देखो न मुन्ने को क्या हो गया है। हम लोगों से डर रहा है। कहता है हमारे सिर पर सींग है, हमारे बड़े-बड़े दाँत हैं, हम उसे खा जाएँगे...
