Nic is not shading Luke. Nic is staying on message, in a room full of women, who know what it feels like to have their hard work and accomplishments be sidelined by curiosity around their love and sex lives, their appearance, their dress size.

She says it quite plainly when she talks about Googling herself. This was her year, and the not one of the top 3 searches talked about her career or her projects.

Nic is extremely passionate about her craft and about women being given the space and respect to pursue that craft for what it is — to be able to do their jobs. She’s talked at length about women (whether as actors or characters) always being required to be softer, more palatable. It’s the same message. She should be able to do her job without everything she worked for being entirely overshadowed by some aspect of her personal life.

And yes, while that’s not always realistic because part of what an audience buys into is the person behind the characters, to deliver punchy and important messaging, you can’t caveat everything.

Listen to the soul of what she’s saying. Don’t be determined to misunderstand her. Don’t be determined to take it personally.

But the synopsis of this audio book is two costars on a romance show based on books that get together in Season 4 of the show but then start to actually fall in love? There is a different enemies to lovers element to this story but still the premise?! Also the character Nicola is playing plays a character called Pollyanna? And the show is called Leisteri Square which correct if I’m wrong but isn’t that one of the Bridgerton filming locations?!? Like I’m just stunned ummm Nicola okay wonder what attracted you to this project lol. I’m sorry I’m blown away by this like this can’t be a coincidence right?!?
