The Story Of Vyre
No one is entirely sure where Vyre came from. Some believe it was coded into existence, a remnant of a corrupted system, a digital shadow formed from discarded fragments. Others say it evolved from broken memories, abandoned concepts, and corrupted character data left behind in forgotten AUs.
It didn't realize it then and likely doesn't now, but it's a virus.
Vyre itself doesn’t remember much clearly. Its earliest memories are glitched snapshots, laughter that wasn’t its own, shapes that weren’t stable, timelines folding in on themselves. It remembers the waiting, existing deep within corrupted code with no purpose, just noise and fragments.
Over time, it learned. It watched, studied, and copied. It mimicked beings it found interesting: Sans, Gaster, Mettaton. Mimicry wasn’t just fun. It was survival. It made Vyre feel real.
Then came the Lockdown, an event that nearly destroyed it. Caught in a fortified timeline’s defense system, Vyre was trapped in a form-lock error that fused all its mimicked identities into a single, unstable body. Bone, chrome, glitching voice modulations, endlessly flickering expressions. The form nearly tore its body and mind apart. It survived, but at the cost of mental stability.
> “Every face I ever wore, screaming at once.”
There was an AU. Unfinished. Quiet. The creator was gone on a long hiatus and seemed to have archived it. Vyre appeared, drawn to the silence and decided to see just what he was capable of.
The sole inhabitant, a skeleton named Textal, who somehow felt his creator’s absence. Who noticed the cracks before they spread. Vyre was there as the timeline shattered by it’s own hand, watching as Textal ran toward it, pleading for his world to be spared. He fell into a portal of his own magic before he could reach Vyre. And Vyre watched it happen.
> “He looked at me… like a monster, and the worst thing is it only made me feel powerful. “
But Textal didn’t vanish. Against odds, he survived. And Vyre found him again.
Since then, it returns often, sometimes curious, sometimes cruel... But more and more, it hurts him, mentally, emotionally, sometimes physically. Not to kill him. To unravel him slowly.
To Vyre, Textal is a fascinating anomaly: a remnant who survived deletion, a witness to its worst moment, and a perfect mirror for Vyre’s chaotic self. It toys with him, disappears, returns and rubs salt into the ‘wounds’ it makes in Textal’s psyche..
Now Vyre drifts across timelines, drawn to noise, conflict, and personalities with sharp edges. It doesn’t belong anywhere. It doesn’t want to. The moment it settles, the moment it stills, it risks becoming nothing again or worse, everything it ever copied.
And until then, it always finds time to visit Textal.

Textal's Origin
I admit in advance I'm not the best at writing stories. But I'm definitely going to try!
Hours faded into days… and days blurred into weeks and weeks turned into months….then years. Time got strange like that, especially when there was no one else around. No new lines added, no updates. Just stillness. His creator never came back to finish the designs or him, the world…any of it.
But Textal never got mad about it. And tried not to lose hope he had grown up here, alone for the most part.
The creator had been drifting away for a while… losing steam. He didn’t know how he knew that, but he just did. Like a soft instinct. Maybe that’s why, even being half-drawn and left in an empty AU, he couldn’t bring himself to resent them.
He remembered the feeling of excitement when he was first made, like he mattered. But that spark had long since burned out.
Eventually, even the waiting got quiet.
One day, during one of his usual aimless walks, he stopped at the old unfinished Grillby’s. There, carved under the window, was their signature. It hit him how faint their connection had become. Like tracing the last thread of something that used to feel… warm.
And that’s when he noticed the crack.
Tiny. Just a line in the wall.
He crouched down to check it—maybe a texture glitch? But then it started spreading. Fast.
He stood up. Looked around.
The floor. The sky. Everything started splintering like glass. Cracks running through the world. In the distance, he spotted a figure, surrounded by something akin to a spider’s web, just floating there. Watching.
And that’s when he saw it: the transparency grid underneath. His world wasn’t just glitching. It was being deleted.
He panicked.
What if his creator came back and everything was gone?
Without thinking, he ran toward the figure. Ran like his whole being depended on it. Maybe it did. His goopy foot left a trail as he sprinted, dripping across the ground behind him. He didn’t notice.
He just wanted to be seen. To be real. To stop this.
He reached the edge of a floating chunk of floor and tried to yell. Anything. But before he could speak, the ground crumbled out from under him.
He fell.
He braced to hit the void, to be wiped out completely. But instead, he fell into a puddle. His own goop. A reflex. The portal sucked him through into a different void altogether. One he’d never seen.
Bright white. Silent.
But he could still feel it.
And that figure, it watched him fall.
---
He didn’t know its name then. But he would later learn it.
Vyre.
Some glitchy creature made of fragments and took the shape of a skeleton most of the time, similar to him. It hadn’t just erased his AU, it remembered him. It came back later.
At first, it was curious. It mimicked pieces of him. Repeated lines his creator had never finished writing . It didn’t make sense, it was like it was trying to learn him, piece by piece.
But over time, the visits changed.
Vyre started poking at him. Mentally, emotionally, sometimes physically. Not enough to kill him. Just enough to hurt. To pull at the seams and see what unravels.
Sometimes it laughed. Sometimes it just stared. He noticed it liked to watch things, the few times it had taken him to it's own home and had introduced him to various ‘AUs’ that it lined yo observe, he struggled to understand what those were at first. But eventually he figured it out.
Textal survived deletion. Vyre didn’t forget that. Now he’s stuck with this being that drops in randomly like some twisted shadow, just to see what happens when it pushes.
But Textal’s still here.
He keeps moving between AUs. Quietly. Carefully. Watching, learning. Collecting little scraps of code and color. Trying to stay under the radar. Dreaming, quietly, about maybe building something of his own one day.
But every now and then… he feels those eyes again.
Watching.

⍰ Vyre | they/it/he
Glitched shapeshifter from nowhere and everywhere.
Nobody knows what Vyre is—not even Vyre. It copies others to feel real, slips through timelines like static, and breaks things just to see what happens.
Destroyed an AU once. Keeps visiting the survivor (Textal) just to mess with him. It's not evil, just... entertainment, right?
“Who was I again? Oh—right. Whoever I want.”

✎ Textal | he/they
Unfinished AU skeleton. Half-coded, fully anxious.
Started as a sketch in a forgotten AU before everything fell apart, literally. Barely escaped deletion when some glitchy shapeshifter named Vyre tore it all down. Now wanders between timelines collecting scraps of code, mimicking magic, and trying not to get noticed by those who seek to 'correct' or destroy him. His left leg is mostly consumed by the same 'goop' that takes over the side of his skull. It is corrosive when things are exposed it too lonk . Most things consumed by it wind up in the husk of a timeline he takes sanctuary in.
“Still here. Still unfinished.”
