i mentioned before that i wanted the soundtrack for the anime to be overwhelming, to accurately portray the feeling of block text in the manga.

i'm happy to say that it is! the sounds are everywhere! the cicada singing, the ice cream melting, the sun sizzling, everything sounds like a summer, only too much. every sound is just that little bit over-the-top, just a bit too oppressive. it sounds claustrophobic, especially in the scenes where yoshiki is losing his mind. it's perfect.
