I care for all of my patients. 'Cause that is what nurses do. Now, doctors order tests, they prescribe meds, and they go home, but nurses... You know, doctors think the patients are theirs, but they're not. They're ours. The nurses'.

I am seriously debating retiring all of my blogs and transferring them to a multimuse. I'd keep my medical muses all together so it would have the following:
The Resident ( Nic Nevin )
The Pitt ( Nurse Jesse, Dana, Abby Langdon )
One Chicago ( from my mumu sideblog that I never really use because people disappeared so they might end up just test muses )
Would anyone be willing to follow a themed multimuse like that?
I love my blogs and so far keeping all my medical ones as sides to Nic has worked for organization but she isn't really a main muse anymore since her fandom has basically died out so it feels weird to have her as my main. Crazy idea??

Turning her body to better face his, she rested her cheek on her hand, elbow pushing at the back of the couch to support her. "Little bit," she said, holding up her free hand to measure an inch or so in the air.
Her gaze softened slightly when he mentioned the kid. Dana had told her about him but not that he'd been one of Jack's patients. She'd been busy with an intake from the waiting room and Earl and Myrna had been wandering a bit.
She let out a breath. "Wooo, it's never easy to lose a patient," she agreed. But one so young? It stayed with you. Her free hand reached out to rest over his. "Wanna talk about it?" It was an open invitation.
He let her carry the conversation while he gave her short one-word answers or just small shrugs. Something clearly was on his mind, but his mind was also elsewhere at some points.
He leans back tilting his head back to look up at the ceiling before closing his eyes once he finished off his own slice of pizza and his own beer. He lifts his head a bit to look at Nic as she speaks.
He frowns a bit before letting his face fall neutral. "That obvious, huh?" He tried to joke but it didn't sound like one. He lifts his head up fully, putting an arm on the back of the couch as he turns to look at her all curled up beside him.
"Yeah... No." He says softly, shaking his head. "It's just.. I can't get out of my head about the kid I lost today. My chest has been hurting all day, like an ache of some sort."

Quietly she sat beside him, munching on the pizza, making small talk, and sipping from her beer. She was definitely carrying the conversation. He'd been there half an hour and she still wasn't sure what had brought this little visit on, not that she minded. Sometimes they just showed up at the other's place. She was just a little worried. It felt like he was keeping something to himself in his near silence. They were eating, sure, but he felt less talkative than normal. Like something was on his mind.
"Hey," she finally said, after finishing off a slice, finishing it off with a sip of beer. " You're a little quiet." Curled up beside him on the couch she took him in fully. "Everything okay?"
He has his fair share of scars on his body, mostly his back and some on his chest, it's from his time in the military. Jack looks himself over and rubs his face with a groan from his mouth and a growl from his stomach after lowering his shirt fully. He bites his inner cheek a bit before reaching for a piece of pizza nodding as she comments on how the pizza was a good idea. "It was, I agree." He speaks before taking a bite.
He closes his eyes and hums softly as the bite of pizza is chewed, he didn't realize how hungry he was. Running on adrenaline does that to a person. He sets his half-eaten slice on his plate and reaches for his drink.

While he got changed, Nic went looking for her sweater she'd left somewhere on the couch. She may have stolen a glance when the shirt came off. Finding it she pulled it on as he finished changing, pushing the arms up to her elbows so they wouldn't get dirty once they started eating.
"Good," she said, taking in his new look. He looked better too. Still heavy with something but the smallest bit better than he was five minutes ago.
Taking a seat on the couch she picked up one of the plates and helped herself to some of the pie. He'd gotten a simple meat pizza from one of the locals nearby. Her favorite. Leaving the box open for him she took a bite, settling back on the couch.
"This was a good idea," she said out loud before taking another bite.
He chuckles softly at her mock salute and when she called him doc. He watches her wander down the hall to the bedroom. He hears her open a drawer on the dresser and smiles to himself, knowing she's getting him some clothes.
He acts like he wasn't waiting for her to return, so when she says take this and holds the meds out to him, he reaches up and takes the meds from her with a soft thank you. He downs the meds and then takes the clothes from her.
He sets them a side and grips the bottom of his work shirt and pulls it off. He changes into the fresh shirt and then hesitates for a moment before standing up to take his pants off. He changes into some shorts and sits back down after snapping the elastic against his hips, making sure the shorts would stay in place. "I feel better now. Thank you."

" You got it, doc, " she joked, giving him a mini mock salute before wandering down the hall to the bedroom. Door still open she headed for her closet first. In less than a minute she's changed from her going to work clothes into something more comfortable and relaxed; sweats and a tshirt. Her favorite sweater's on the back of the couch from the night before.
As she heads for the door of her room she pauses with an idea. Tugging open one of the drawers on the dresser she pulled out a few things before heading for the hall bathroom where she kept her medicines. Ibuprofen in hand Nic returned with her spoils back to the main room. " Take this, " she says holding the meds out to him first.
She waited until he'd downed them before she hands him the clothes. " And change into this. "
He felt her watching him, but he said nothing. Not wanting to embarrass her or anything.
He keeps rubbing his leg, glancing up a bit as she enters the room. He drops his gaze back down to his leg, pausing the rubbing and tilts his head a bit to look at her. "Yes, I do." He smiles a bit at her. "Some Advil or Tylenol will work. I have stronger stuff at home but forgot to grab it today. I didn't think our shift would be that busy earlier."

She watched him for a moment as he unloaded his trusty bag, taking him in fully. He looked tired, though he always did. But she could see it was a little more than that. After he hangs up his bag he heads for the main room.
Right. Drinks. Because if he's gonna talk about his feelings he's probably going to want some alcohol in his system.
It only takes a moment before she's exiting the kitchen heading for Jack's last known whereabouts. Drinks and plates in hand she watches him as he takes off the prosthetic. "Need anything for that?" she asks, referring to his leg, as she sets them down on the table.
She knew his signs, his little silent cries for help or otherwise. So, he lingered a little too long when he returned her cheek kiss, no big deal to him. He smiles a bit at her, eyes twinkling but also hiding a certain sadness to them too.
"I'd feed you all the time if you'd let me." He teases her in return as he watches her but also watches their surroundings. He thanks her as she holds the door open for him as best as she could. He walks in, letting the door shut behind them. He was bone tired and after having been on his feet all day he wasn't sure he'd be able to make it up the stairs if her condo wasn't on the first floor. Which thankfully it was.
He enters the condo after her, shrugging his backpack off and hanging it up near her purse before turning to watch her. "Sounds great. I'll be in the tv room." He speaks, walking towards the tv room. He sets the pizza box down and then sits down. He takes one shoe off and then takes his prosthetic leg off. He pushes his pant leg up and rubs his leg, trying to get the ache out of it.

The fact he'd shown up unannounced was definitely a sign. The way he lingered a little too long when he returned her cheek kiss? another. But she wasn't going to say anything. Especially not out here on the street. He'd bring up whatever was bothering him ( and she had an idea or two ) when he was ready.
"Well if you're gonna feed me, company is always welcome," she teased him as she unlocked the building door. She held it open for him as best she could as he followed her in. Thankfully her condo was on the first floor so as soon as he was in the building she turned around and unlocked her own door, letting them both in.
"I'll grab some plates and drinks," she said as she hung her purse up by the door.
He'd rather save the talking about his day when he was in the comfort of Nic's place and or arms. The moment where the world just melted away and it was just the two of them; with beer, greasy food and with some movie playing in the background, that he'd sneak peeks at and say something about the main guy and how he's going about it all wrong trying to win the main girl's heart or whatever.
He seems to light up a bit as she plants a light kiss on his cheek. "Too quiet at home." He replies softly, shifting the pizza box from one hand to the other as he leans in to press a soft kiss to her cheek in return. "Figured you could use some company." He meant himself but he'd never say it out loud, at least not when there could be ears anywhere. He motions for to her to lead the way so he can bring up the rear, making sure no one else was around who might try to hurt her. He was like that always on guard, it came from his many years in the military as a medic.
