i know this sounds a little weird but hear me out. how about a mb/headcanons on what helen would be as sounds, smells, or just stuff?

How's Helen's relationship with food? I recall you once mention she has an ed, can you tell us more about that?

it's pretty bad. she stress eats and then purges, choosing awful diets that make her weight snap down suddenly (her favourite one so far is the IU diet, which consists of a protein shake, an apple, and a sweet potato. that's it. that's supposed to last you 24 hours. don't try it, it's downright disgusting).

and then it'll take her a while to be able to eat properly again....and then she'll have an okay time in which her weight has yet to balloon up again...and then it starts to rise....and then she stress eats...and then the whole ugly process repeats all over again. endless. the only reason she likes soup is because it's watery and doesn't make her gain weight like other food does.

this all kind of traces back into basing an existence on a male fantasy. a fictional idea that you starve and exhaust yourself for doesn't really get you anything concrete - just makes you value your night creams and perfumes and kitten heels more than real life relationships. an idea can't be happy. you're always watching yourself from a third person's perspective. outside of your own body. if that's all you are, you stop existing.

and i guess that's what helen is - somewhere along the line, she just stopped existing.

So I’m curious about Helen. I know that she is hyper sexual, but would you say that she is hyper feminine? Does she enjoy dressing feminine, or does she do just to please men? Or has she been doing it for so long now that dressing very girly and cute is what feels normal? I wonder if she dressed more “masculine” or androgynous, would she feel wrong or out of place? helen has no true style. even the way she normally dresses seems somewhat forced to her, and opting for a masculine/androgynous style makes her feel like a try hard. she's tried several different sorts of fashion but none of it sticks.

the only time she feels completely comfortable is when she's alone and wearing someone else's clothes. knowing that it wasn't her own decision and there was no purpose behind it is soothing to her. she loves meaningless things.

in a letter to shu (written far off in the future and nearly never sent), she says:

helen is asexual. she engages in an unhealthy amount of sex as a coping mechanism - it doesn't mean she actually likes it.

she isn't, however, aromantic. quiet gestures of affection - even platonic affection - cut her down to the bone, and she really does inwardly yearn for an honest love. she just doesn't expect to find it anytime soon.

- helen's notoriously bad at relationships but she's a really good friend

- that being said,,, she's got a pretty specific criteria about what sort of people she's willing to be friends with

- you're either really fun, or really nice. no in between

- helen's very well aware that she goes the extra mile for her friends - so they might as well be fun to hang out with/be kind enough to deserve that sort of generosity

- prefers female over male friendships (think men are just waiting to nudge their way out of the friend zone sooner or later)

- you have to be able to shop till you drop dead of exhaustion (and even then she'll haul you to the next boutique, ignoring your sobbing about bleeding toes)

- so it's pretty ironic that she winds up being friends with shu

- helen's got a naturally domineering personality, and any guys she's ever gone out with have folded easily to her demands

like la'ela. bitch couldn't even read or write forget about talent. she solved all her problems with violence and the emotional maturity of a two year old. yeah, she had the raw power, alright, but she was basically just a sub-par vessel for a higher force. imagine handing the launch button of a nuclear arsenal to some random kid - they're going to press it whenever they want to. she thought she was the coolest thing to walk the face of the earth but she didn't really have anything going for her

Likes strong, stately names for girls that intimidate from the get-go, but wants to keep some sort of femininity to it. Would name her something like Helen (the shining one) or Diana (heavenly, divine) - as both were powerful women in mythology. also has a major soft spot for Aurora (the dawn) because The Sleeping Beauty was his favourite fairytale as a kid for obvious reasons and he thought she was really pretty.

Reiji:

Names that sound old school and grand like Anastasia (resurrection) or intellectual like Athena (the wise one). Actually thought the name Beatrix was quite suitable too but would rather set himself on fire than admit it. Messes around with a variant (Beatrice) in his head for a while but ultimately decides against it because his feelings for her are too hateful.

Ayato:

Into names that sound low-key villainous, like Kainda (the hunter's daughter) or Bellatrix (female warrior). Wants his little girl to fear no one, and makes it a point to choose something that'll make her sound a little dangerous right off the bat (and what gives off crazy bitch vibes more than a name like Bellatrix?)

Kanato:

Naming the girl seems like the best part of being a dad to him, tbh, he has a list thought out and ready to go. Would opt for something like Lina (tender, delicate) or even an old Afghani name, Pari (fairy) because he wants her to sound like the prettiest princess. Would even try Calliope (a beautiful voice) and hope she inherits his vocal talents lol

Laito:

Another old school guy, likes names derived from romantic literature, like Juliet (youthful) or Giselle (a pledge). Might go for a French variation since he likes romance languages too - Genevieve (woman of the people) or Cosette (little one). Not particularly bothered with the meanings, focusing more on the feeling and sound, as well as the historical influences.

Subaru:

Something short and simple, but still with some meaning to him. Would name her something basic like Lily (purity) honestly, or if he was feeling spicy, an Arabic name like Amara (the eternally beautiful). Both come from memories of his mother; the pure, ever-beautiful flower of the Demon Realm. Subaru might take it as a sign to protect this 'flower' from ever being defiled, and be needlessly overprotective.

Carla:

Has the name picked out the instant he hears it's a girl. Goes immediately for one he's liked for a long time - Aryana (noble, pure), which he first heard of in Persian literature ages ago. Thinks it's the perfect name for someone of First Blood heritage, and might develop a bit of a complex in keeping her safe and unsullied for eternity (overprotective dad no. 1, even worse than Subaru, no man will ever be good enough for his daughter)

Shin:

Hasn't given the whole affair much thought (was honestly expecting a boy so he's a bit at a loss as to what he should do now). Wants to take a leaf out his elder brother's book and go for one of Persian origin, Aytan (moonlike, serene) but decides against it at the last moment and chooses an old Yiddish name Velvela (she-wolf), because it feels more intimately connected to him.

REPLICA - Lazy Sunday Morning.

Fragrance Description: Soft skin and bed linen. Pear, Orange Blossom, White Musk, Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and Indonesian Patchouli Leaf.

it's a female fragrance, but it was too shu to pass up. something warm and relaxing, that speaks of comfort. always sprays it on as an afterthought, and it meshes well with his own natural, rather masculine scent. reminds him of a woman's bed and languid sex.

Reiji:

Guerlain - Vetiver

Fragrance Description: An earthy-but-sweet “green” quality. Spikes of something stronger, reminiscent of the sharp cut of herbal tea, and stinging chemicals.

is one of those people with a very precise spraying technique that they repeat every morning. quick spritz on his neck, then both shoulders. couldn't give a lesser damn (is usually too focused on perfecting the windsor knot on his tie anyway)

Ayato:

Fragrance Description: Rich, heady combination of leather, jasmine sandalwood and amber.

this perfume is literally legendary. It's the sort you wear right before you kill someone with your bare hands, and you know ayato's all about that. overpowering and heavy, it makes a statement instantly, drawing all attention to it without effort. a perfume only a narcissistic prick would wear.

Kanato:

Kilian - Love, Don't Be Shy

Fragrance Description: Orange blossom, honeysuckle, rose, vanilla, luscious marshmallow.

kanato always prefers women's scents to men's because he feel like they're less intense and suit him better. with all the sugary sweet notes in this one, he probably walks around all day smelling like a dessert. gives off an image of decadence and pastries dripping cream, and pulls girls in before they can see the glint of a madman in his eye.

Laito:

Alright we've got quite a list here, but that's because no one does perfumes the way Laito does. He's spent years in France - specifically in the town of Grasse, which is the absolute heart of scent - and he's learnt more tricks of the trade than anybody else.

He starts off with a steam shower to completely detoxify his pores. Then bathes, using drops of the mildest rose essence so that it seeps into his skin. Dries using linen, not rough towels, to keep the faint rose scent that will serve as a base for the rest of his routine.

Now come the lotions. Glow Recipe's Watermelon Glow AHA Body Cream, and then the Molton Brown Milk Musk Body Lotion. This creates the most delicate layers of floral, fruity, and milky scents respectively. And now he must wait ten minutes before putting on his clothes - for the life of a master perfumer is never easy! He puts on some music. Dances naked to Billy Joel's We Didn't Start The Fire. Takes a few off hand dick pics and stores them for future use. But is careful not to overexert himself; he can't have sweat breaking through his delicately balanced layers of scent, can he?

Ten minutes on the dot, and he carefully slips on his outfit for the day. Dabs of sweet essences on his underclothes and pulse points -lavender, lily, honeysuckle- and now, finally, he can get to the main perfumes.

Androgynous to the core, he mixes male and female scents. For the feminine finale that'll play up all the floral essences, he spritzes on some of Marc Jacob's Daisy (a youthful scent with notes of wild strawberries, jasmine bouquets and vanilla. playful, flirtatious. i sound like an ad but i'm just obsessed with this one it's😭👌)

And to top everything off, he goes with the intensely masculine classic that is Chanel de Bleu. Woody, aromatic, and with hints of Caledonian sandalwood, it serves as a quick reminder that he is a man, despite all the sweet fruity undertones he's added.

All in all, he smells so indescribably good that he barely needs to lift a finger to get all the girls. The bastard.

Subaru:

Dior - Fahrenheit

Fragrance Description: Lavender, sandalwood, woodsmoke, musk, leather.

subaru didn't know what he liked or even wanted in perfumes for the longest time, and experimented unsuccessfully for ages until he stumbled across this on the same freaky site he uses when he's online shopping for coffins.

this masculine fragrance brings out the alpha male. it's so manly it's terrifying. a manly man's manly scent. it's a frat boy mixed with a wall street broker. it's probably sexist.

introduces a potent gasoline note that stands out from other fragrances. It's like putting violets on a leather jacket and setting them both on fire, i.e the only thing edgy enough for baby sakamaki. he oversprays it because he hates his own natural scent - which is surprisingly delicate. roses and night lilies, just like his mother.
