ALLNOSTALGIC
An EASY location to target — so many hungry mouths after a long stretch of work. Nick saw his opportunity, and had parked his pawpsicle stand nearby with his treats on ice, to battle the warmth in the air. He’s already sold about half, the sales going according to plan, when a small little critter decides to pay a visit.
Nick has this smug grin about him, one of his brown-tipped paws tucking into his pants pocket. What the squirrel says doesn’t phase him in the least - and it seemed his little rat pal didn’t do much to help. Did he seriously think he could threaten him out of this spot? As far as he was concerned, this only proved his hunch - this was a good location to make some easy cash.
❝ I don’t mind, actually- thanks for checking. ❞ He doesn’t miss a beat with his reply, one of the pawpsicle sticks twirling between his claw-tipped fingers before popping it back into his mouth. Smug grin only widens, bushy tail flicking behind him. Nick made it quite clear —— HE HAD NO INTENTIONS OF MOVING.
his tail flinches at the fox’s snarky reply , it would continue to do so as for the next couple of seconds as he simply stared up at the other. frankly he should’ve expected this , it seemed that any time something was finally going HIS way , there was always another animal not too far behind ready to RAIN on his parade. but he could work with this , if he played his cards right then this fox would packing it down the street in no time.
he lets out a breath through his nose , that was just short of a chuckle , thin line spreads on is mouth turning into a strained smile. “ FUNNY. that was... that was a good one. you ever think of doing STAND UP ? you should you’d be great at it. but uh seriously , ” he rests his paws in his jacket’s pockets , waltzing over to the fox’s pawpsicle cart , eyeing it up an down before gazing back at the fox. “ my friend and i’ve been working this corner for some time now; in fact , we’ve even got some REGULARS who always look forward to our NUTS ! and get this ! today was gonna be our LAST sale ! ”
that was partially the TRUTH. today would’ve been the first time they’d sell on this street corner , but it’d also be their last. for some reason people don’t like wasting their money on EMPTY NUTS , imagine that. “ so do you think you could take your ice on a stick treat somewhere else , JUST for today ? i mean there’s really no need for this turn into a whole THING. ”

@allnostalgic gets a plotted starter <3
these past couple days have been nothing but EASY for the duo , and today should be no different. today should’ve been a QUICK cash grab , their wagon full of bagged nuts should be empty in less than an hour tops. at least that was the plan.
he sat atop the bags as his PARTNER pulled the wagon up the sidewalk , his attention was focused on counting the cash they've made this week. IT WASN’T ENOUGH. he’s brought back to reality when he suddenly feels the wagon come to an abrupt stop. he peaks over to look at the rat.
“ buddy ! what ya stoppin’ for ? ”
he takes notice of his friend’s gaze , and then he saw him. A FOX. of course it had to be a fox. surly lets out an irritated groan , hopping down beside his companion , putting a paw on his shoulder reassuringly. “ don’t worry. i got this. ” and then his frustration is focused on him. “ hey fox ! yeah i’m talking to you ! you mind LOITERING somewhere else , we’re tryin’ to run a BUSINESS here. ”
