Here is the leaflet I did as part of my exhibition where the viewers can take it and get tiny version of my actual piece. along that I also added a message about the the issue of my topic hoping they’ be more aware about the cons of consuming too much.

I made 50 people take part of this survey to know about their views and opinion about consumerism. In conclusion i found that more people are more in favour about consumers consuming us not just with what we buy but sometimes also our lifestyle.

This barcode is included in my receipt. I tried to play with the number and see if I can make a word out of them. I thought of using digital numbers and from there I managed to somehow make a hidden message to it.

This is the process of putting up my work on my board, documenting it bit by bit along the way. I wanted to give it that retail look and I feel like I somehow managed to do that. Showcasing my printed tote bags and t-shirt with my laser cut subverted brands and leaflet give-away to compliment everything.

Here I documented when we begun to install my piece in the link. Basically my teachers and a few technicians helped me install the piece to the ceiling all the way down to the floor using a cherry picker. At first they placed the wire a bit low but then raise it when I reminded them the length of the piece. I am very pleased about it since that is exactly how I visualised it in my head.

To begin with I punched 6 wholes on the rolled canvas and added some metal eyelets to it to make it stronger and not ripped. At first I had trouble thinking of how I'm gonna fixed the rolled canvas into the spool and get it to stick together, though I asked my teacher for advice and she suggested to use cable wires and I did and I was very pleased about the outcome.

From the workshop I found these two big tubes with a cone edge to it, when I first saw it immediately i though of a spool for my receipt, but the the two on its own together is just short for my piece to fit in so I had to compromise and extend it using bits of wood lying around in the workshop screw it to the tube and made it one metre long. I also used polypropylene sheet to cover the wood part so it would make a cylinder shape, and that is how I made my spool.

This is me documenting the process of screen printing my barcode on the tote bags and t-shirts that I got. The screen was kindly made for me by the technician so I didn't have to worry about it. The only thing I did was actually the printing process. Along the way I made some mistakes and found that I have to wash it after doing two go, else the print on the fabric wouldn’t be as crisp, meaning the scanner wouldn't be able to read it.

After doing the laser cut on the material MDF which I was actually really please about, I found that they get dirty easily so what I did was used this liquid quick drying MDF clear sealer and also used a clear sealer spray / spray varnish to add a sheen to it which I actually like since it gave it a professional look.

These are the outcome after doing the laser cut on an MDF. For me I somehow like how the laser cut gives it this old looking style because of these slight vignette edges.
